Horrible customer service, this bank has slowly gone down hill over the years and will be switching to another bank.

First, I sat for more than 30 minutes. Lobby wasn't full at all. All I needed was a form notarized, and the lady in office speaking Spanish had a reunion with someone who used to work there. Seriously! Then when we finally made it in office... she says she wasn't a manager. Wow! The former employee walked all through the bank and interrupted the visit of the other person. The manager who does the notarized documents was a having a conversation with the customer going on and on...ignoring the fact that customers in the lobby are waiting. We have to do better. Customer service needs to be efficient and the goal should to see the customer and get them out quickly as possible. We were never acknowledged. I'm still waiting...this is ridiculous

I edit my review after contacting the bank. They quickly addressed the issue. There was a technical issue which made the deposit to not reflect on my account. and the manager personally called me to resolve this matter at hand. I thank them for this..glad there are still banks out here that's honest

Do not open an account with bank unless you have the time to check your bank account after every transaction because they'd slam you with fees.

I've been here several times and never had any issues however recently I went to transfer money in my other bank account and Adriana Johnson “helped†me. She asked me to email her my account number and routing number of my other Banks account. When I explained to her I didn't feel comfortable emailing someone my personal info her response was “I can already see most of it.†My issue was that I didn't want my info in someone's email account because and email can be accessed from anywhere but instead of ensuring me my information is safe with Burke and Herbert she was pressuring me for information and even used scare tactics saying my money could be lost if I didn't email her the info. I've wired 10x the amount I asked her to send but at other banks and never had this kind of experience before. I will definitely be closing my accounts at Burke and Herbert and would advise people who already have their money here's to use another Branch at least!

I have nothing else to say but what a fantastic branch and the service you receive is always 5 stars. One special employee always greeted me with a smile and will miss her very much. She always was so positive and always had great advice. And a great listener. I will continue to use this branch. Thank you to all the employee's. They make you feel special and always greet you by name and a smile.

I just experienced the worst customer service ever. This bank will take your money with fee's and when you try to talk to the manager about "YOUR" money they will not call you back. Let me just put this in perspective. I have banked with this bank for several years and thought I was a valued customer. So when my car payment that I miss calculated by $54 was withdrawn from my account instead of paying it which any bank I have ever banked with had done especially when I have over $100,000 deposited in the account throughout the year they sent the $780 payment back. And I wasnt even aware that the account was short $54 because at first it was showing the correct amount when I checked the available funds. This caused my car payment to be late which I have never been. I tried to get someone on the phone to discuss my feelings towards what had happened and I can never get a manager to call me back. Not only that the representatives got an attitude with me. They have no problem charging me a $35 fee but can'y pick up the phone for a customer. I will make sure my family removes all money from this horrible establishment and never bank with them again. Its sad that a Branch Manager can't call back a customer whom they have dealt with for years. Not the home town bank they appear to be. BB&T gives much better service don't invest your money with this bank.

In response to information I received about children's savings accounts at Burke and Herbert, I went to this branch to set up an account for my son a few months after he was born. Generally, service is good inside the bank but some of the tellers revert to their native (non-American) style of interaction, which can lead to some minor customer service problems. Avoid that by going through their convenient drive-thru lane behind the bank building.

This place has the most friendly and down to earth tellers. They definitely go out of their way to help you and I was completely surprised how they remembered me every time I come in. The nicest thing as far as bank benefits goes is that B&H will reimburse any ATM fees you incur. So while they may not have as many locations as the large and impersonal Capital one bank you can still use an ATM with little worry. This bank is one of the last few local banks in Virginia. I switched to it after our local Chevy Chase bank was bought out by Capital One because I wasn't treated as a person but as an identity after the switch was made. Here I am treated a person and I love it.
