Still haven't been paid my unpaid wages despite winning a tribunal against them... avoid at all costs! Dinamix hair salon used to trade as My Business Ltd- see the tribunal documents below as evidence of their unprofessionalism and wage dodging activities. Louis MacDonald.

Came here a few months ago and the service was horrible. I got a wash and set that barely stayed up since rollers were soo loose and when they blow dried it it seemed like I came out of a sauna my hair was frizzy and they wanted me to have it flat ironed for an extra $10 and I said NO. I was angry then to get charged $80 when the price initiated at $30. Talk about for every 2 inches long is a $10 charge. Girl bye. I paid what I felt was right $60 and left. Never going back.

I've been going to this salon since 2011 - Kukie is awesome! She started doing my hair when I had a relaxer (and grew it past bra-strap length), and now that I'm natural she's still working her magic on my hair :-). I would highly recommend this salon.

Kukie did an amazing job on my natural hair. She made it super silky and 1 week later it looks like I just left the shop. She gave me information on how to up keep my hair and different products to use. I will definitely go back and spread the word. Prices are good too!!

I originally scheduled my appointment for 5am to ensure that I'd be done in time to get to a friend's baby shower at 3pm. When I called to confirm my appointment they asked if I could come later, at 7am, and I said I should probably just schedule for the following week since I have a commitment that day. They assured me that my hair would be done in four or five hours (by noon) since the stylist is very fast, so I agreed. I arrived on time for my appointment at 7 am, however the stylist was not there. Another stylist called her and it turns out she over slept. I said that I will just reschedule because I need to leave the salon by 1pm to get dressed and drive to a baby shower, which is one hour from my home. I was repeatedly assured that the stylist would arrive momentarily because she lives five minutes from the salon. She arrived 45 minutes late and was not very apologetic. I then asked my stylist how long it would take because of my plans and she and the person I believe was the manager said my stylist is fast and would be done by noon. She appeared to be fast at first, but didn't finish my hair until 1:40. Also she used a metal hair clip to part my hair (not a comb) and it hurt when she parted my hair. The other stylists used rat tail combs. Anyway, I was texting my husband asking him to wrap the baby shower gift and iron my outfit. Midway through my appointment the stylist saw me checking the time repeatedly she asked what's wrong. I told her that I can't be late and have plans. She said she'd definitely be done by 1pm. As stated earlier, she finished at 1:40. When I went to the counter to pay the lady stated that I needed to pay in cash. Then I told her the website states that those who pay by card have a $10 up charge. Anyway, my braids looked good (initially) and they aren't too tight. This is my first time getting braids plus I'm prone to headaches, so I was pleased that I wasn't in extreme pain. I took meds, but it was totally manageable. Well, exactly two weeks later I called the salon because a braid fell out. I was told they are were too busy and to call during the week and ensure they I could return to get the braid reattached. Then another braid fell out, but this time while I was out in public. My husband looked closely at my braids and told me that many of them appear to be slipping. Plus many are frayed. While having braids is new for me I did a lot of research about caring for braids and I've been using the proper products. They shouldn't look this bad and be falling out two weeks later. It was a waste of over $200. I live in Annandale and my weekdays are really busy so if they can't fix them this weekend then I'm just cutting them out and will find another salon.

I booked two appointments for 10 am on Feb 20, 2016. I arrived with my daughter at 950 and I was seated an the young lady started on my hair. At 11 am I asked what time would someone start my daughters hair and she stated should would be. At that time another person came in and they started her braids. My daughter still was waiting. I asked again at 11:30 if the lady doing my hair was doing my daughters hair as well and she stated she was going to start on my daughters hair. I stated I had 2 appointments for 10 and I had something else to do that evening. She completed the front of my hair and at noon she started on my daughters hair. She finished her hair at 4 pm and then stated she was ready to do minds. I was angry and did not want them touching my hair any more. They over book clients and then do not tell them that they will not be able to complete you at the same time. She even wanted to charge me $90 for doing the front of my hair only. This place is not worth you time and money. The do not honor peoples time and money and that is not fair. Let clients know you can not do two heads at the same time and book them at different times. I will never go back to this salon.

I give this shop 5 thumbs down!! They told me my hair would cost $65 and then asked for $100 when it was done. Plus they spoke rudely to a customer there with her daughter. When the lady said her daughter was disappointed, a couple of hair stylists joined together and bashed this woman calling her a user and saying she just didn't want to pay after I saw her give them cash money for services. The owner Kukie just stood back while the customer was attacked and humiliated. Also, there was a little girl (about 6-7 years old) crying hysterically because of how they were hurting her while braiding her hair and they ignored her until her mother came in the place. This is definitely not a place for children! I didn't want to complain to them because I was afraid of how they would treat me. The customer service was horrible, the atmosphere is loud and the women are harsh and mean spirited. Plus, there was dirty, cut hair all over the floor and the bathroom was dirty. I do not recommend this place for any service.

I've been going to this hair salon since 2010 - both locations - the salon / barber shop split and the new location in the shopping center. I prefer the new location as it's more traditional as far as stores go and it's easy to find. I have no clue what one reviewer spoke of saying she felt the need to run out because the shop was busted. Professionally decorated it has never been, but decent looking, professionally set-up, and very clean - always. Kukie, the owner and master stylist is awesome - very friendly, accomodating to one's schedule, and very much about long-term hair health. As far as natural hair - I love them. I've gotten everything done from washes and deep conditionings, trims, and basic curl styles to blow-outs, beaded weaves, corn-row updos, and Senegalese twists and have loved it all. In all the years of going to them I only had one bad experience (I had to wait over an hour after my appt. time to get started). That's saying a lot to me - that I've continued coming back even after that experience. Interesting the comments about ghetto music and TV shows. I've always only encountered nothing playing or Christian music and movies. Give them a try - I started off with freshly cut off natural hair about an inch long to it growing down to the middle of my back, with their assistance in care and advice, in three years or so.

So I felt compelled to write a review because the others are so clearly out of date. First off, the shop no longer is at the place described. It's further down in a shopping center. The owner Kukie is amazing. I have natural hair and she straightened my hair without any heat damage! She is reasonably priced and very informative on what is best for your hair. Also, they have online scheduling which is awesome for me. I recommend her to all my natural hair friends. I have seen them do braids as well though I haven't tried them for that.
