I am the proud owner of an African Grey parrot Chloe, whom I love very much! I feed her only the best Harrison’s Lifetime Coarse bird food and Nutriberri treats. I have been a customer of The BirdSafe Store for many years. The food is always in stock and is reasonably priced. Owner Joe Aborgast is always very helpful, if I have any questions or concerns. Will only purchase my bird food from this store.

I ordered from The Birdsafe Store for the first time in August of 2023. I kept track of the Fedex shipping status, and it said my order was delivered on 8/29/23 and left on my front porch. It never was delivered. I contacted Joe at The Birdsafe Store, and he was on it trying to find where my package was. In the meantime, he shipped out two more bags of the food my parrots needed, and when this package eventually arrived after two weeks, he gave me a good deal to keep those extra two bags. The prices are so much better, and Joe was great to work with and made things right. I will definitely order from them again (but maybe request it not be shipped out Fedex. Ha).

This the only store I would ever trust with my sweet Jade food and supplies even her beautiful cage. Joe is wonderful in helping with questions about anything concerning birds and their needs. It is Birdsafe just like the name says. Sincerely Joy Smith.

I have a 32 year old Amazon, and her diet has been a big focus ever since I adopted her 11 years ago: she had been on a poor sunflower seed/peanut mix diet, and as a result had high cholesterol for which the avian vet wanted her medicated (legit Lipitor!). So obviously I changed her diet. I cook her "mash," but also supplement with pellets. She's been on Harrison's brand since I transitioned her. I'm not about to try and change it up, but it's probably the priciest bird food out there. A 5# bag of normal "maintenance" (Adult Lifetime) pellets goes for $45 on Amazon! (Shameful when I can buy my dog 28# of quality food for the same darn price! ) I've done some shopping around, and even directly through Harrison's, by the time shipping is added, it's still the same cost. I found The Birdsafe Store in my quest to save even a little bit of money, and am glad I did. They've saved me $7 over the other guys. Every little bit counts! Plus, I'd rather support a Mom and Pop over the Big Box if I can help it. So far I've placed at least 3 orders, all for different Harrison's varieties (birdie bread mix, mash, and pellets). When my last order was slightly delayed (no biggie), I was informed via email. I appreciate the communication! This time around I started perusing toys, but it was just too much scrolling through product (even using filters). When I did find something I thought my picky parrot would like, they were sold out each time. (Same with Clearance, most of which I assume was sold out months ago with, for example, some foods expiring September of '20). A bit frustrating. I'd love it if they'd update their website to "hide" sold out products, and also update it in general: it's a bit archaic. Doing so might improve the consumer shopping experience. Still, I'll definitely continue to order food from them for the positive reasons I've mentioned. Support small biz!

Ever since we started buying food for our Senegals from the Birdsafe Store, I've been happy. Their prices are reasonable and I tend to get my items within a week of purchase by using flat rate shipping. I love the points system as I've now gotten several items for free and always take advantage of sales when they have them. If you live in the Atlantic region near Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia, Birdsafe is a great go-to place for Harrison's pellets and bread as well as other dry food mixes. Support a local business!

Make sure you read their (unreasonable) return policy. I purchased an Aviator harness that my bird is terrified of. I have all the original packaging inserts and the harness. They refuse to accept a return claiming it could have been exposed to disease. I purposely chose this store to support a small business (and it's near my hometown) and wish I'd spent the extra $5 and purchased this directly from the manufacturer or Amazon who do accept returns. Joe does respond to inquiries in a timely manner, but if you're expecting true customer support, you won't get it here. Massive disappointment... big box stores for the win compared to this place.

I discovered the BirdSafe Store a few years ago. They are a great source for hard to find pelleted parrot foods, like foods that don't list corn as the first ingredient, foods without processed sugar, and foods that utilize organic ingredients. They also have great customer service. Emails are answered promptly and if you have any issues they are resolved immediately
