I’d give 0 if I could. I had a completely different experience with Lisa Robison than everyone else apparently.I signed up online to do my taxes virtually. The 1st virtual session I had with Lisa, she didn’t even introduce herself, just went straight to business. I had to pause her and intro myself and even tell her it was nice to meet her. Also, unlike stated on the website, she never provided me with an upfront cost for the tax preparation.After our 1st meeting, for some reason she kept trying to have me come into the office. She waited a week to tell me she couldn’t open a file I uploaded, but I could easily do it on my end. I had to drop some files off at the office.Another time she tried to get me to go in was late notice on a Friday, asking if I could come in that night or over the weekend to discuss things I already told her in the first virtual meeting.When she just about finished my taxes, she said the preparation fee was $679 just to file with her. I thought that was a high amount.I expected Lisa to try hard to help me think of things to write off so I would owe the smallest amount of taxes as possible, but she never did that. I had to proactively think of things to try to lower the amount I’d owe.A few days later, Lisa told me it would cost $729 to file the taxes, up $50 from just three days (or so) prior. She informed me of this THE DAY TAXES WERE DUE. I asked her for a fee breakdown and she refused to provide one unless I came into the office that evening, THE DAY TAXES WERE DUE, and said my taxes “were complicated.” I was never supposed to have to go in because I chose to have my taxes done virtually.I called HR Block online and was on hold multiple times for around 6hrs that day. When I was able to speak with associates, none of them could understand why Lisa wouldn’t provide me a fee breakdown, told me that she was supposed to do so, AND told me they agreed the tax prep fee was high. I told them I lost trust in her at that point which they said was understandable.They scheduled for another HR Block associate (Brahmin Labidi at the Sunnyside Plaza location) to review/cross examine my taxes that Lisa completed for me to see why she was charging so much. When I spoke with him on the phone, he seemed unaware of our scheduled chat, dismissed things I told him, and told me he wouldn’t review my taxes because they “don’t do that,” then tried to schedule me a phone call with Lisa after he was already told the reason I was scheduled with him was because I didn’t trust her/her numbers.I filed a complaint with HR Block and still haven’t heard back from them. Lisa was going to charge me $729 and I would have had to pay $2k+ in taxes. Since that all happened the day of, I had to file an extension, then I took my business elsewhere.A different tax preparer (not associated with HR Block) was very kind, charged me $300 flat, worked hard to help me find write-offs, and I eventually only had to pay 1/7th of the taxes Lisa said I’d have to pay!File your taxes elsewhere. Chances are, if you do it with HR Block, you’ll be overcharged.

Kim was so fast & efficient. I had my personal taxes and an estate tax to file & I was in and out in no time. She made tax filing a breeze! Her 13 years of experience really shined through! If I could rate her above 5 stars I would!

Lisa is my absolute favorite and she helped me last year so I have repeatedly come back to her. Never have had an issue and helped me exceptionally last year when I moved from Texas and I owed money to IRS. Give this woman and raise and rep she deserves.Thank you Lisa, see you in 2024
