I don’t think I have ever written a negative review in my life, but I have to say something. We just had the worst experience with Ty, people need to be warned.
My son is on the spectrum and we came in for a haircut. At the beginning of the appt Ty made it clear that he did not want my opinion at all. I can understand wanting to hear from the client, but my son is not comfortable advocating for himself with strangers. We discussed what he wanted before he made the appt. Ty was dismissive with me and even made some derogatory comments about moms in general to my son. Something about nothing makes them happy, they just complain all the time. I tried to tell him not to go too short on the sides because my son is insecure about his ears sticking out, he actually said that was stupid and doesn’t matter and said he would do a 2 guard around his ears. Told him not to go too short, well he did whatever he wanted to do. Ty just assumed I was a controlling mom and ignored any comments or requests I tried to make during the cut.
Well, my son walked out the salon with a high and tight cut, he put gel in his hair and made it spike up with a straight cut in the front. Straight out of the 90s. Kids do not wear their hair in that style or that short right now. Not only was the cut HORRIBLE, but he has a rash from the razor on his neck and he cut a slash in his hair with the clippers behind his right ear. I could have done a better job than this at home. I held my tongue at the end, hoping that my son would somehow be happy. I just wanted to get out of the store.
Well as soon as we walked out the door he looked at me with tears in his eyes and said “I can’t go to school like this, they are going to give me such a hard time. I am going to have to wear a hoodie forever.” It is picture day tomorrow too. Hair will grow back. It is not the end of the world.
Ty, you need to do better. I am not sure what issue you have with women or moms in general, but if you would have listened to me my son would not be sitting here trying to convince me to let him miss school tomorrow. The world is a neurodiverse place and not everyone is comfortable advocating for themselves. He did not want to make a scene and he was scared to tell you to stop when you kept cutting and were being rough with him.
This will be a learning experience, hopefully he will be able to find his voice. We even came up with his plan for a code word so that I advocate for him next time if he needs me to. I also learned to trust my instincts…and SPEAK UP.
If I could give zero stars, I would. Here are the pictures from tonight and a couple from yesterday when he was skating. We just wanted a trim and shape up and you cut all his hair off.

I give Hair Cuttery a chance when I need an emergency hair cut. Will not be coming back, experienced a “quick” and blunt service from hair stylist. Tried to maintain my patience, also felt obligated to leave a tip when check out suggests a high tipping amount. I’m probably used to international tip etiquette…and have no issue leaving a tip in the US, but when I’m happy with quality of the service.

After my first time here, I stopped going to any other salons/barbers. Friendly, upfront with expectations, they do a good job, fit you in even if you don't have an appointment, and the price is decent. It's basically all you could ask for from a hair place.

Tori was very sweet but very slow..cut was choppy and missing chunks out of my hair... I'm trying to grow my hair out and she cut my bangs literally an inch from my scalp when my bangs were supposed to be below my lips..she did part of my red highlights with wet hair...my highlights that were supposed to be caramel turned out yellow with different pigments... I was supposed to have a layer of bright red highlights and they turned out peach pink orange and not red... I tried to complain about the services and I got backlash from about four people in the place...Bono, the guy in there was laughing at me and kept telling me my hair will grow out and all I have to do is apply more color... The lady next to Tori came over with her scissors and started chopping at my hair while I was crying. Another lady ( I don't know if she was a manager, she has a huge bit with glasses ) she got completely ignorant with me because I was complaining and said there's nothing she could do because it was at end of shift, the whole time I was in the chair next to Tori she did nothing but complain about her clients, telling me how crazy they were and full of crap and how everybody at the hair salon sucked... I told her to call the manager of the place Jenny and Jenny said I would still have to pay for services no matter what even though they messed up my hair completely. I was so upset. I was cussing and I never cuss. I literally had Covid and bouts of sickness since 2019 and this was a very first time I've ever went to the salon since then. I even complained about my highlights because they were literally an inch from my scalp and when I've had foils before it went straight to my scalp I did not get balayage services. So because I complained there's four stylist and the manager against me when it's not my fault that they messed up. My husband tried to call Jenny to try to get a refund so I can take that money and go elsewhere to get my hair fixed and she refuses to give me my money back refuses to talk to my husband and tells me that she has to fix my hair herself. Why in the world would I go back to a place that has completely jacked up my hair and nobody has apologized and nobody will take responsibility for what happened...??? It's like as long as I shut up and I don't complain everything is all good. I will not behold bewitchery or manipulation... If we have to we will go above Jenny's head and everybody at that place. I'm so horrified and so upset what they did I've never in my life had these types of services, I refuse to go in public because how horrible my hair is...I literally look like an old lady, I completely could not go out in public after my birthday and appointment... I've been getting my hair done since I'm 14 and I'm now 42 and I know protocol and I know how things are done. I'm not boo boo the fool. This is not my first rodeo. I have never been to a studio or salon that has been so unprofessional in my whole entire life. Yes there's always shop talk but the conversations that I heard in the shop was perverted disgusting filthy Ludacris and everybody gossiped about everybody. If you're so miserable about working there get another job. Straight horrible

This was my first time going to a Haircuttery. I am pretty calm with my hair, not too high maintenance I just want something cute and simple. I went in with realistic expectations for a haircut under $30. I got there any was taken in quickly ( though I wouldn’t rate anyones customer service skills stellar). She cut a huge chunk off then wet it in the sink. No shampoo, then I showed a picture of what I was aiming for. A long Bob a little below the shoulders , with blended layers. What I ended up with after a 8-10 minute cut was not even touching my shoulders with choppy uneven layers that could not in any universe be described as blended. When I was sent to checkout my hair was still wet and not even blow dried. That was a first for me. I wanted to cry when I saw it in the car. Just praying it grows back out quickly and I’ll take it to someone to fix. But safe to say next time I’ll just save up and go to a true salon.

Tyron did my hair today. He was friendly and understood what i wanted. He actually put hands on my hair before takong me to wash it. I love the layers and the over all cut.

Katt is the best! I tried a couple other stylists when I first moved to the area and she's my favorite. I just love her energy.
