Went here for the first time in 30 years. Really didnt see anything new, except for the fact it seemed much smaller this time. The native settlement was inhabited by only 2 "natives". Place was certainly not as impressive as I remembered. Especially not for the 20 dollars they charge adults and older kids for entry. Insane! However, if you are recipient of health care benefits and ebt, you can also go to this museum for free along with 5 other adults. Not at a discounted rate but absolutely free ? In this place of historic education is an entire floor for a fine exhibit on African fashion contributions. As everyone knows our forefathers took fashion quite serious ?. Im being literal, the very first exhibit was a PIMP outfit!

One of the best reenactment sites I've been to. Plenty of space that allows those that want to tour faster room to get around those of us that spend more time. We are all happier ? All of the characters were well informed Brian was especially knowledgeable and had an amazing range of stories. Thanks Brian for making our experience truly amazing.

Loved the visit and learning the history. Again I suggest taking a day. Place opens at 9 AM. We thought we could go a little later in the afternoon but the outdoor exhibits close at 3. You can't visit and not see them. We returned the next day at 9 AM. A lot of inside exhibits and history as well. We also drove the small 5 mile loop. Was absolutely beautiful.

Wound up here almost by accident, I was trying to get to Historic Jamestown, they are next to each other and I didn't realize the difference. Glad I did, though. The museum here was the biggest and best of the 3, they have a replica village with reenactors who answer questions you may have, and this is where the 3 replica ships are located. In short, this is all a replica, but very well done. Go here and to Historic Jamestowne.

Amazing place! Definitely something for everyone of all ages.
The entire settlement and museum is handicap accessible which makes it very easy for people in wheelchairs. Although boarding the ships outside by the river may be a bit challenging, but there are sections of the ships inside the museum which are accessible.
The staff are very knowledgeable. We even met a descendant of the local Native American people within the Algonguian re-creation.
The museum is completely hands on and interactive. I love that. Go sit inside the ship, walk thru cabins or huts and touch all the informative screens to learn more.
Very enjoyable experience.

To walk through the history of Virginia, educational, beautiful reproduction of the settlements, all the actors were knowledgeable and engaging, great for kids and adults. The musket firing demo is awesome! Worth the $20 entree fee.

Wonderful museum. Great demonstrations. Friendly and knowledgeable staff who will answer any questions you have. While talking about navigation and how sailors navigated to Jamestown I wondered when the compass was invented. The staff was able to answer my question even though it was invented in China and not directly about Jamestown. Great experience!

Staff were unfriendly and treated my friends with complete hate. The actors were unenthusiastic and boring, no excitement for what they were sharing, which was expected (this place has great history but the actors don’t seem to care). Would not recommend, much better places to visit if you are willing to make the commute, for example DC, Philly, Etc. DO NOT COME HERE!

The entire experience here was fantastic. The museum was so so well done. The cafe had lots of reasonably priced options, including a kids menu. The indoor museum had a good amount of hands on type things to keep my 6 year old relatively engaged but it is not geared toward children. Very confusingly they have a costume exhibit from some Eddie Murphy movie, not exactly sure why and it was really out of place and weird. The outdoor portion was fantastic. My son loved it and the interpreters (dressed up people) were really friendly and knowledgable. I wish some of the things without interpreters had labels or more information about what I was looking at in the outdoor space. There were lots of kids groups that were poorly behaved so that was a bit off putting. Especially groups of teenagers with no obvious chaperones that were running around and being wild. Maybe they should ask school groups to increase their ratios of chaperones to students to maintain appropriate behavior.
