I rented a car from Hertz it had low air pressure in the tires. I did notice this but I assumed they knew this since they gave it to me this way and that maybe that was normal for this vehicle. When I returned it I was charged $117 because it had low air pressure in the tires and they will not resolve this . They claim I'm responsible didn't realize I had to be a mechanic to rent a car from Hertz . I will never rent from Hertz again. I would have left zero stars but there was no option for that.

The vehicle was fine. It smelled like Marijuana and had a fingernail in the middle console, but got us to the location almost without any issues. LR Tire had a slow leak that I have a feeling the shop knew about- there was an invoice in the glove box that showed that the LF tire had to be replaced when the car had 1 mile on it.... it was almost an issue but we made it work.
I asked the manager of this business if I could turn the vehicle in after hours. He told me that I could and did not bring anything up about fees. I turned the vehicle in on the same day after hours but was charged for two extra days (as well as a late return fee x2)
From what I can see online, this shop has historically been less than straightforward about charges. It looks like the vehicle wasn't processed for two days after I returned it, which is inefficiency on the shops end.
I have pictures and videos of the ODO, the fuel, and a video of the vehicle turned in at that location on the agreed upon date. I think this place is mediocre and quick to add as many extra charges as possible.

I had my car break down on vacation in Williamsburg and needed something just for one day to enjoy the area. Emma and McKayla made sure I got a vechicle for my family even though there was limited availability and high demand. Thank you for taking care of us!

Reserved a car from this hertz days in advance for a same day one way trip. Our destination was 6 hours away to a different state due to a move. We arrived at the hertz at the earliest time they would allow us to pick up the car ( 8am). When we arrived we were told the only car they had available was an electric car (which we did not reserve). The car was charged at 30% and we were told it was now our responsibility to charge it. We attempted to charge the car at a charging station only for it to charge 7 miles in 45 minutes!!! It would have taken us all day to charge the car to not even make it half our trip. We would have never made it to our destination to drop off the car without having to pay for a second day for no reason! This situation was extremely inconvenient, disappointing, and unprofessional. we will not be returning to this hertz in the future!!

Day of my rental pick up, while we are on the way there to pick it up and they call to cancel. I should have known better. We rented from there in 2023 and when we arrived for that rental, there was not one available he tried to talk us into a work truck to drive to Florida, we waited 4 hours for a car. Will never go here again.

Would advise against booking a pickup at closing time if you can, like most offices, employees are not as accommodating as they’re trying to close up shop for the day.Be aware there is a $200 (refundable once vehicle is returned) damage deposit that will not be advised until you’re at the register checking out.The car I ordered (days in advance) was not clean- exterior.Recently used Enterprise & had a much better experience.

Paid for my rental car in advance and when I show up to get it they charge me an “intercity fee” because I’m picking it up in one city and dropping it off in another city an hour away. Guess what - they already knew this and didn’t disclose the predatory fee at the time of purchase.Luckily I disputed the charge and got my money back but I’ll never use hertz again.

They do not tell you all the extra charges they will charge until the very end. I went to hertz because on their website I was able to reserve a Tesla for less than $400 for my week trip. Upon return I am charged $769 because of “fees” super disappointing and never coming back. I feel scammed

Awful. This place is maddening. They gave me an EV (which I didn’t want or request) and after leaving, I realized it only had a 30% charge, which is sufficient for less than 50 miles 1-2 days.They then told me to go charge it at a gas station, so I drove there, but it required an adapter (which hertz did not have). I tried to exchange the car but hertz said they did not have anything else, as they were all out of cars.I then drove to Target and leaned it takes 1.5 hrs to charge the vehicle (about $21). I almost got stranded. The dealership promised to have someone call me, but of course they never called.Unprofessional, uninformed about their own fleet, and generally unconcerned about their customers.While I was there, another customer was so irate they actually called the police on hertz for deceptive billing.Just a horrible experience all around.

We rented a car that had a loaded gun in it in Williamsburg, Virginia. We returned it to the location and asked for a different car. They granted it but it was very traumatizing to find the loaded gun. What if we had children who found it first? It would have been a devastating outcome. We asked for the company to call us and talk about it. They didn’t after several requests. We paid full price still but they did give us some coupons for if we used them again. Too scared to think about renting from them again. They claim the inspect and clean every car, but this clearly didn’t happen.

I rented a car here for a week back in 2022. The staff was super nice and helped me understand the rental car process since it was my first time. I had originally reserved a Chevrolet Spark, but when I got there they said they didn't have any so they upgraded me to a Jeep Grand Cherokee at no cost. This worked out because I liked it so much I ended up buying one! Vehicle was clean and ran fine. Would recommend
