William and Mary room was awesome! Room darkening shades that could almost black out the light, nice bed, great bathroom with plenty of towels and accessories. A/C system worked like a charm and quiet. Beautiful rooftop lounge a real gem!
Safety: We came back to an almost empty Duke Of Gloucester Street at 11 pm and never felt intimidated at all. Completely safe!
Walkability: Right in the middle of Colonial Williamsburg. Easily walkable to many attractions.
Food & drinks: Plenty of nice restaurants close to the inn.

A++! This was our first visit to Williamsburg, and the Fife and Drum exceeded our expectations. The parking garage is located just steps away and feels spacious and secure. Staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in the suite which was spacious and clean (like the rest of the building) and simply but beautifully decorated. The bathroom linens were thick and plentiful, and they were presented all wrapped up with a bow (very nice touch!). The shower had a seat in it and plenty of shampoo, conditioner, and soap mounted on the wall (so convenient!). There was a nice tv, easy WiFi access, and several ports to charge your devices. The breakfast room was tastefully decorated with plenty of options for a hearty, convenient breakfast (and tasty cookies to go). The main entrance door locks after 3pm, so it feels safe and secure. All of these little touches made the stay feel comfy, homey, and easy. The building is conveniently located to some great restaurants, coffee, ice cream, and other shops, and just a block or two over from the colonial experience. Bring good walking shoes because there's so much to see right out the door. My only complaint was that we didn't spend enough time visiting, and there's so much more we want to see. I was sad to leave, but I guess that just means we'll have to visit again someday.

This was a wonderful stay, we really enjoyed our time. The rooms were clean, the beds comfortable, and the dining area was well stocked. We loved having beverages, especially hot ones, always on the ready to take out and enjoy on the sweet rooftop patio. Bill and his staff were so kind and helpful and the location was great-right by several dining options and a few blocks from Colonial Williamsburg.
Safety: I was traveling with my 2 daughters and we appreciated the safety of the Inn. The main door required a key card to enter and each room had hotel locks with key cards. All of Williamsburg felt very safe but we liked the added security.
