Petit Verdot (Gila). This is my absolute favorite red. This is the sort of place that you enter as friends and leave as family. Where you only tell your closest friends about it because you never want the vibe to change. From their crispy whites to smooth warm reds you will not be disappointed. It is the epitome of what Virginia grapes have to offer. #texasapproved

I don't usually write online reviews, but we had such a lovely time at this winery that I thought I should share. I went to celebrate my birthday with a large-ish group (7 people), and all of the staff were SO kind and accommodating. They showed us all of the indoor and outdoor options for a group of our size, including a tented U-shaped seating area outside where we started, an alcove with couches inside where we moved once the 99 degree heat got to be too much for us, and a speakeasy downstairs which we decided against but was a nice option for a private space. Three different staff members helped us during our time there, and all were so friendly and knowledgeable. They had a great variety of wines for all tastes, from dry whites and reds to a very sweet imported peach Moscato. The flight was a great value (each of the 6 portions was more than a half glass, for $20), included a nice variety of wines, and was served in a novel way (test tubes). The setting was beautiful, the wines good, but really it was the exceptional service that really put the experience over the top. I will 100% be coming back in the future!

Awesome local spot! Great views, friendly staff, and tasty wines! Jon, the owner was working and was very welcoming and and made you feel at home. I work in the? industry, and appreciate visiting spots that feel laid back & have a relaxed feel and don’t feel overly commercial or hectic. Will be back!Go try their Petit Manseng! ?

Love this little spot. It's cute, has a great view and the wines are always on point. they have both wines made in VA as well as wines sourced elsewhere. All of it is great stuff!

I loved our visit here so much. The First Harvest was a standout but what really makes this winery special is the simple, unpretentious setting and uncrowded atmosphere. Staff was very accommodating, even serving us a second glass at closing time. Charming views, with a nice deck area and also picnic tables. It's just a very sweet little place.

The Wine Reserve at Waterford is becoming our new favorite winery in Virginia. Not only is their wine delicious, food amazing and have a beautiful venue... they also have the nicest, most accommodating staff out of every winery I've been too (and I work at a winery in Loudoun). We recently reserved their "Library" which is a private room in the basement of their facility. We reserved it for my wife's birthday and could not have been happier. The staff went out of their way to make sure our experience was top notch. This was probably our 5th visit and has become our go to when recommending a winery to our friends and family.

Visited yesterday with a large group including a couple of children and had the best time. The view is amazing and the staff was incredible. They have a really good selection of wines so everyone can find something they like.

Just moved here from San Diego, and never knew VA had such a plethora of wineries. Stumbled upon the Wine Reserve based on their 5 star yelp reviews. Made a reservation the day before using their website, and it tells you all the Covid precautions, etc.Lucked out on a beautiful sunny fall Saturday, and the views of the neighboring land, horse farm, etc. were terrific. A kind gentleman checked us in and told us to pick whatever picnic table we wanted, and gave us a run down of how to order, etc. All of the deck tables were already booked, but not a big deal.We got the $17 tasting flight (see pic) which had 6 large test tubes of a sparkling rose, Chardonnay, petit manseng, white blend, cab franc and meritage blend. All very drinkable but we found the Wine Reserve's Wandlerust/Meritage and the Hark Cab Franc to be stand outs and our favorites. Good legs, peppery notes, stone fruit...blah blah blah. The petit manseng and white blend were a tad too sweet for our personal tastes, but you'll love it if you're a fan of varietals. The gentleman who first greeted us, and was kindly checking on all of the customers, turned out to be the owner Jon. We had a great chat about his background, his winery, winemaking, etc. which was actually quite fascinating. Just a down-to-earth, well-spoken, friendly guy who made our experience that much more enjoyable. We're used to the Napa valley environment which can be mechanical and pretentious so this was a very welcome change.Due to Covid, they don't serve food, but had a food truck arrive at 12 or so that served some delicious Puerto Rican food (the pork, rice and plantains dish was terrific).Anyways, we found everyone we encountered at the Wine Reserve to be friendly, polite and very accommodating, and the outdoor tasting area has terrific views. We never felt rushed whatsoever while we enjoyed our tasting flight and subsequently ordered a few full pours. We ended up buying half a case and we'll definitely be back for more. Hope the weather holds out..

Small, friendly winery with a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Scenic views and a pretty gazebo make for good photo opportunities.

This is one of the best little wineries in Northern Virginia. They have a great variety and almost everyone should be able to find a favorite here. They also have some nice tasty snacks. And their staff and owners are about the best folks you will find. They are so hospitible and genually nice people. We will definitely return here.

Best Virginia wines I have ever had. Their Cabernet franc is excellent. The steelhead Chardonnay is not bad at all. And the price is just right. The atmosphere is nice and the cheeses that they pair with are excellent. Not to mention that the staff is very accommodating and very personable. There are many vineyards along this route, some are very popular and very expensive but not as good as this place. Give it a shot.

I LOVE this winery - easily one of my favorites in Northern VA. The owner, Jon is so incredibly friendly and attentive. Each time I've visited, he's greeted me almost as soon as I got out of my car, and the most recent trip I made here, he saw I had my dog with me and brought out a bowl of water for her.Jon alone is enough of a reason to venture out to The Wine Reserve at Waterford, but if you don't have the pleasure of seeing him on your visit, you'll definitely get to take in the stunning views from the porch and lawn, and enjoy a glass of their delicious wine. I highly recommend First Harvest for a light, smooth white - it's perfect for summer and not too sweet. I also love the sparkling rose. I don't typically enjoy rose, but I really enjoy their sparkling rose - the bubbles are light and not too fizzy, and the rose isn't too sweet.
