Okay, I read terrible reviews about this guy at the Great Neck UPS (1340 N Great Neck Rd Ste 1272 ) on the Next Door app, but today I finally understand why everyone will no longer go to this store.
Amazon delivered a damaged face wash to me, but in order to get a refund, they wanted me to return it via UPS. I packed it up in a ziplock bag (so it wouldn’t leak). This man at the UPS store was so unbelievably rude to me. He literally raised his voice and spoke to me as if I’m an idiot. “I can’t accept this!!! This will ruin my other packages!!!”
I actually had to tell him that I don’t have a comprehension issue and I understand the words coming out of his mouth… but his tone and delivery were absolutely uncalled for. I’ve never been spoken to this way. He told me to go to a different UPS store and refuses to help me.
One thing though… ISN’T HIS WHOLE JOB TO SHIP PACKAGES? You’re telling me he’s actually unable to package and ship something that’s already been enclosed in a bag? You can’t triple bag it and ship it? It just makes zero sense. Incompetence much?
I will never step foot in this place again. Shame for him, since I own a business and work with a ton of people that requires shipping services.
I hope he read this and realizes that his rude, condensing and belittling delivery was completely uncalled for and unnecessary. It’s just not how you treat another human being. It’s fine if he didn’t want to accept the package, but he could have gone about it in a much kinder, respectful way. His customer service gets ZERO stars. FedEx just got my business.

Staff is consistently rude. Originally I thought it was just the man at the front counter, but today the lady at the register gave him a run for his money. Disappointing that I’ll have to go out of my way to find another UPS store instead of this one.

I recently visited the UPS Store early in the morning to drop off an Amazon return, and my experience was quite disappointing. The person working behind the counter was incredibly rude and unprofessional. He was carelessly throwing customers' packages onto the counter and seemed to be in a foul mood for no apparent reason. As a customer, I expect to be treated with basic courtesy and respect, especially in a service-oriented business like this.
What makes this situation even more concerning is that, based on other reviews, this isn't an isolated incident. Several other customers have reported similar experiences with this individual. It’s alarming to think that this might be the owner of the store, as some reviews suggest. If that's the case, it's even more important for him to reconsider how he interacts with customers.
Business owners should be setting a positive example for their employees and creating an environment where customers feel valued and respected. If the person behind the counter truly is the owner, I strongly encourage him to reflect on his approach to customer service. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional but also damaging to the business’s reputation.
In any customer-facing role, especially as a business owner, treating people with respect is crucial. If this individual finds it difficult to engage with customers in a courteous and professional manner, it may be worth considering a different role that doesn't require direct customer interaction.
It's unfortunate to see a business suffer because of poor customer service, and I hope the management—whether it’s the owner or someone else—takes these concerns seriously. Good customer service is the backbone of any successful business, and I hope to see improvements in the future.

I have been in the store several times to return items that I have ordered from companies and every time I come in the store the gentleman that is behind the counter is extremely rude very short with people not friendly at all and needs to do a much better job on his customer service skills! It's not just myself he is rude to it's literally every customer that comes in there he just gets super irritated and it's written all over his face!

As others have said, staff are not pleasant at all. I get there is only one person, and they are working on packing someone's painting. But that seems to be a low priority when there are other people waiting in the store. I called,"sir," and I know he heard me. I heard him grunt (or swear, either) and had to call repeatedly. Finally got a really rude, "yes" from him. He told me to just leave the package on the counter. So, will it ship? Who knows with is guy.

I encountered significant difficulties shipping boxes to Italy due to UPS's refusal to adhere to their own rule of attaching only one invoice to the first package. The UPS employee who assisted me was unhelpful and unwilling to resolve the issue, instead directing me to a UPS hub 30 minutes away. This experience was extremely frustrating and I would not recommend this location.

The man who was there today was extremely nasty and actually yelled at me, claiming I hadn’t read the directions on how to do an Amazon return (which I 1000% had read, more than once to be sure I’d prepared the return correctly). He was incredibly angry and awful to me (it was extra disappointing since I had my 2 year old with me). Very unfortunate since normally the people working there have been very nice.
I’m afraid to go back to this location even though it’s the most convenient to where I live because I really don’t want to have to try and work with this guy and his explosive anger again. Very sad. :(

The people that work here are so rude. The guy last week was cussing and he was there again today cussing again. If you’re so unhappy at your job go somewhere else. The girl today was absolutely unhelpful. Been there to return my Verizon Tv box three times and they keep telling me “there system is down”. Right! For this many weeks? I’m sure! But other stores can take it.. ridiculous.

UPS Store #2788, 1340 N Great Neck Rd Suite 1272, Va Beach, Va. This review is also going to UPS HQ.
Today, July 6, at 12:23 PM I brought in an Amazon return package that was required to be sent via an official UPS store. Although I’ve read many negative reviews, I’ve had good service from this location for many years, but what happened today was so disgusting that my rating has gone, in one trip, from a 5 star to a 1 star.
I’m 75 years old and was struggling to unload from my truck bed and carry this very large box (containing a collapsible wheel chair) weighing approximately 50 lb. When I got to the store’s double door entry which only opens to the outside, I could not hold the box and open the door at the same time, so I propped the box up against the left side door, the one that’s usually, for many businesses, not even unlocked. I held it there with one hand and my knee. I opened the right side door, re-established my grip on the box, and entered the store. If I had placed the box on the ground to open the door, I would’ve had a very difficult time lifting it up again. There was no one around that I could’ve asked to open the door for me. There was no one exiting the store.
The worker and I were the only 2 people in the store. I greeted the man with “Hi, how you doing today?” His response was “I would be doing OK if you’d not tried to break my door!” To which I respectfully responded “I was having a problem getting my box in. I always wonder why stores like this don’t have doors that swing both ways.” I don’t recall his exact words, but after he threw my receipt at me, he rudely left the conversation by walking into the back room, and said on the way something about me “not having the intelligence to correctly open the door.” After he insulted me, I then stated “Now I see why this store has so many negative reviews” to which he responded from the back room. Don’t remember exact words, but they included “Get Out!”
FYI, there was absolutely no abuse, much less damage, to the left side door or its mechanism. When I propped the box, there was a minor noise when the door set firmly against its latching /locking mechanism.
I have ID’ed the time of drop off in case anyone associated with this store wants to know who this extremely rude employee or owner was. As far as I could see he was the only worker there at this time. He was a little on the short side, just slightly heavy, with a small black beard/ goatee. I suspect, from reading other reviews, that he could have been Joe.
This store is only about 5 minutes from my home, much closer than the others in town. So, I intend to go there again when I need to, which thankfully, is not very often. One more episode like this and they will never see me again.

Ended up leaving to get serviced somewhere else due to an absolutely trashy attitude the employee threw at me even before I came up to the counter. I mean, get a job that doesn’t involve dealing with people, easy ?
*based on previous reviews, I assume it was Joe, the owner

Customer service is the worst I've experienced in my life at any store. Absolute jerk. Sell the place already if you are so miserable.

Went buy to drop off an Amazon return. The gentleman there was extremely pleasant and end even went out and help get my return out of my car. I've used them a few times for eBay shipping.
