An older hotel, not well maintained. Things are just worn out and showing their age. Staff was friendly, and location is great. They stock the rooms with the thinnest toilet paper I've ever seen! The "resort fee" was annoying - no resort amenities, but they said it covers parking, the pool, and free coffee - you know, things that only a resort would have haha.

There was a huge white tent blocking the view of the ocean from the first 4 floors. We had our room moved to the 6th floor and when we entered there was a trash bin catching water dripping from the ceiling. The top of the dresses had something stick spilt on it and there were ants everywhere. The toilet seat and lid was mot attached to the toilet. Our bathroom sink did not drain properly. We were woken up by construction noises outside of our balcony in the early morning. There was so much chlorine in the pool that bring in the pool area would start to burn your eyes. We came as a group for a cheer Competition and others had similar complaints. 1 had a broken tv and busted up patio. I will never be coming back to this ‘hotel’ or recommending it to anyone.

Visited in October 2014. The stay was filled with pleasant surprises. There was free parking right in front of the hotel, and we received a very nice welcome package despite only staying for one night. The hotel’s location was ideal, situated next to the boardwalk and beach, with direct access from the lobby. Our room was absolutely great, boasting an impressive view. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, especially considering the rate.

This is my favorite hotel in Virginia Beach. I've been coming here for years. The staff are always very friendly and very helpful to me. I love the nostalgia of the hotel and its in a prime location. Definitely glad to have had the opportunity to stay here again and during my birthday at that.

Good views of the ocean, but the hotel is just super old and things are falling apart. Bathroom sink drains very slowly, shower pressure and hot water is hit or miss, door locks work half the time, the bathroom exhaust sounds like a jet engine inside, and so on. I get they're slightly cheaper than others, but seemed like the property owners aren't even trying.They didn't even bother with room service on our second night. They just pretended they forgot and just asked what we needed when we called.The folks working there are nice though.

On Friday when we arrived they gave a dirty room full of dust and nobody used it. They gave us another room I thought that the floor is clean and my daughter said stuff is under feet. Nobody vaccume the room and when I cleaned with towel i saw hair and dirt on the floor, the sheet has spot on it. On Saturday I told them vaccume and change the towel. They gave us tear up towels. During cleaning we were not there we went to watch girls gymnastic. Last night I could not sleep on bed. I just stay up to back my home. I took a shower and dried my slef with paper towel. I told my husband next time Marriot hotel or Hampton inn.Rooms: Room is dirty and not clean and no vaccume.

Medium priced hotel. Older rooms, but an ocean view is an ocean view! Walkable to some good restaurants. Maid service every day is nice.

Great location. Easy access parking. Friendly service. Clean, ocean view rooms with a small balcony. I've been going for over 10 years. Highly recommend.

My church, Kingdom Life Embassy, stayed here for a couple of days during the week. Right on the water front, and at a great group rate. The rooms are spacious, and we loved the glassed elevator. Many amenities, and a skip from the sand being in between your toes. Thanks to the whole team for a great stay. Right on Atlantic ave., conveniently located to everything.

I usually don't do reviews but this needed to be done. When my mom first called to reserve room whomever she talked to didn't seem to know what they were doing. Then when we got there they harassed us about an ID. My mom booked the room but it was my card that was used to pay for the room. Over the phone and once we got there. Most places want the ID of the person whose debit card is being used. It annoyed me but I said ok everybody got rules. Then the second night we were there it rained and the ceiling leaked so bad that we had to move all our stuff about 6 or 7 rooms down the hall while we were in the middle of trying to sleep. Then there was no microwave in the room and the little one they had didn't do much good. Then the elevator acted like it didn't want to work...Had to take steps several times, cause who has time to get stuck on an elevator?...The only good thing about this place was the location and the view of the ocean. Also very annoying noise in the bathroom when you turn on the light...you can't even hear your music if u have shower concerts like myself. And the worst thing of all was we were never offered any of our money back for having to be bothered after 10 when that ceiling started leaking. My money was definitely not well spent here. The housekeepers were pleasant and most of the staff just kinda gave u a deer caught in headlights look. Overall would not be booking here EVER again. The rooms were clean pretty good tho

My boyfriend and I stayed here in May. The room was very clean and very nice. We had a gorgeous view of the ocean. The pool was very clean. We were in walking distance from most everything that we wanted to see. The staff was extremely nice and very accommodating. The only downside was of zero fault to the hotel. It's close to the air base and if they're out there....good luck sleeping. Again, that's not the hotel's fault and nothing that they can fix. Overall....my only complaint is so trivial that it's funny. Offer tea. Not everyone drinks coffee. I have to love a place where I can say "can I have tea?" I look forward to returning

It was all about the wonderful staff. Customer service is a lost art. This group was wonderful...every single employee. Our room was clean, it was oceanfront, and it was affordable. We will absolutely be back. Special thanks to Natasha and Andrew. Also, the kind man who checked us in and out but I don't remember his name. We stayed in this hotel for a getaway on the 4th of July weekend. I knew was not going be a resort but the pictures show nice rooms and the location was perfect. Well, the location was perfect but the hotel is more like a motel.Pros: Perfect location, close to everything. The people at the front desk were very nice a professional all the time. The rooms are all ocean view and have nice new floor but that will be all.Cons; Very dated rooms, the furniture very old and warm out, the bathroom has new sink but the toilet is like kids toilet and the shower extremely small, I'm 5'4" and I could easily touch the ceiling that looks like from last century. It wasn't dirty but very, extremely dated. It doesn't have a closet, only hangers in an open space. We stay three nights, had two rooms and we had to call the front desk several times. All the issues were resolved but we didn't need to go through that. The toilet was leaking when we arrived, the shower didn't have curtain, the remote control didn't work, they didn't refresh the room, and when I called around 4pm, they sent someone with clean towels and a broom. Why they didn't refresh my room? Don't know but I was in shock when the guy passed me the broom, lol. The restaurant it's not even worth to talk about, the pregnant waitress was very rude, long wait a food awful, don't even think about going there and the bartender was google how to mix my drink.Bottom line, I won't stay in this hotel again and I don't recommend to anyone, unless your expectations are for a good motel

The room was clean, although a little small.Was surprised there was no microwave in the room, but there was one in the lobby downstairs that we were able to use.We booked this hotel because it had an indoor pool, so in case of rain, the kids could swim inside. We were disappointed to find out that when the beach closed due to the incoming thunderstorm, the indoor pool was closed as well.The location is great, walking distance or short drive to all the attractions.The hotel has their own restaurant - we had lunch there and the food and service were amazing!
