This place is great! They always have really nice fresh flowers, cheeses, produce, coffee and lots of meat. Even freshly ground peanut and almond butter. My favorite thing to do is grab their meal kits twice a week. They about 25 bucks each and always tasty. If you are on the fence about trying the kits their chicken cutlets and salmon burgers are always tasty.
I will say pay attention to the fruit you buy there. I have bought peaches and figs from fresh market only to find mold already growing on them when I got home. So just look them over before putting them in your cart. That said their produce is usually really good.
All the staff is very friendly there. Fresh market also has meals and food ready to eat. There's a spot off to the side in the front of the store where you can sit and eat.

I like that store. But I wish it was a little lighter in there, its so dark in there. I was talked into getting some freshly squeezed orange juice from the juice machine by the cashier who raved about how great it was. I prefer the one that's already bottled in the dairy section which I originally had in my cart. The freshly squeezed juice from the machine has a bitter taste from the rind. It doesn't taste nearly as good as the one that's already pre bottled. I think I'll stick with that one. Oh and also is very expensive

Love The Fresh Market @ Pembroke! The employees are always so nice and kind! Especially Charlotte! We love going and finding new goodies and checking out with Mrs.Charlotte! Went to this fresh market to get some fresh Mushroom - Gouda burgers about 2-230 pm. I asked one of the butchers and he said he would have to have made in the back and asked if I could wait 20 minutes. I said sure, came all the way from chesapeake. I went to browse other thing and saw a guy flagging me down, saying they were out of mushrooms lol. Thought this fresh market. The best one I have been to is in Newport News.

I have ordered from Fresh Market several times, and it’s always been the most pleasant experience. Today, Bonnie was my shopper, and right from the start, she exhibited the best customer service. She made sure to inform me that my roasted chicken wouldn't be ready until 10 am and quickly advised me of items they didn't have in stock, suggesting the best replacement options for me.
As a parent of two small children, I dread going to the store with them, so Fresh Market’s grocery pick-up service makes my life so much easier. Their employees consistently ensure a great shopping experience. They offer daily specials on different food items, and their deli items are the best! If you haven’t tried their pick-up option, you’re truly missing out. You literally just drive up, and they bring it to your car. This location is seriously one of the best grocery stores in Virginia Beach! Highly recommended!

The sushi bar looks nice , but the tuna / salmon pokè bowl was atrocious and when I ask the chef could he customize mine he said no after I had already once before seeing him customize an order my pokè bowl had only rice and tuna was over stuffed with ginger and avocado and cucumber bits it was a mess , the chef at this location needs some assistance and to step it WAY UP

I am happy that there are so many great comments because The Fresh Market used to be a pillar of providing excellent customer service and I used to frequent the stores at the least 3-4 times per week. It was the perfect place to grocery shop; however, I have noticed that the location in Virginia Beach has actually caused me to cut ties with the grocery chain as I was plagued by two horrible experiences. Not too long ago, I was actually spoken to by one of the members in such a rude manner which was dehumanizing, not respectful and it really had me reevaluate how I spend my hard earned money. I have spoken to a few of my family members and friends as well to just be cautious because we as customers should be treated with dignity and respect because without us, some of these businesses would not even exist! I do commend the District Manager for trying to make it right because she was great but the issue at hand happen 2 times too many. I do not wish anyone the disrespect that I was subject to when I simply tried to purchase items from the Fresh Market at Virginia Beach - Pembrooke.
