I LOVE Primrose Academy of VB South! I was so sad we had to leave due to our move. I honestly cannot thank the staff at this daycare enough for how much they love and cared for my little boy. They always kept his well-being and safety in mind. I was a nervous wreck originally putting him into a daycare but the peace of mind I received from Primrose made it such an easy transition for both of us. Since day one my boy was already learning new things and having a great time at daycare! He would come home with paintings or singing songs! I cannot recommend Primrose Academy enough! 10/10!!! I’m gonna miss seeing the staff! Thank you again for caring for my boy!!!

I worked here for around nine months before sadly having to move. Primrose Virginia Beach South will always hold a special place in my heart. The owners, directors, and staff were all welcoming, kind, and accommodating. Working for Primrose VB set my standards high for any future place of employment or childcare. They treat everyone with the utmost respect and have an outstanding curriculum based program. Primrose VB was always clean, organized, welcoming, and safe. They truly care about their staff and students here, health, safety, and comfortability of everyone who stepped through the door was always their priority. I can't recommend this school more for anyone looking for childcare or a place of work!

Was terminated for leaving 3 hours early to go to urgent care because I was feeling awful. I was treated as if I were making it up to get out of work when it was obvious that I was sick. I was told that unless I had a communicable disease I was expected to report the next day and that they would cover me for the remainder of the day. When I asked for clarification on the communicable disease list I was told I was being weird and that I was a red flag. I reported to work the next day still felt awful and was fired on the spot. I had never missed any days and that was the first time I had asked to leave. I was trying to push through the day but was coughing so much that another teacher suggested that I let management know. They could care less! Absolutely no compassion for their staff and down right rude! The other teachers talk about how they can’t keep good teachers and I can see why. Don’t waste your time working here.

I applied for an assistant director position which I was looking forward to interview for with what I've heard from fellow colleagues. To be completely honest, I have never experienced or even heard of a situation like what occurred where an applicant was offered an interview time and date which, was asked by the applicant (me) to confirm one of the original offers the same day and then sent a confirmation email the following day only to be informed that the interview slot was no longer available and that in the duration of the time within the 2.5 hour email exchange that all of the slots were booked. She concluded the email stating that she is no longer coordinating with me about an interview time (that I was originally offered in the initial email displaying interest. Due to this outright unprofessionalism that the director displayed, I withdrew my name from consideration and also any other openings with this company moving forward. I feel uneasy as I have never made a public review in a negative light like this before but this was just astonishing to me. I discussed the situation to several colleagues ranging in various levels of superiority and credentials in this field and everyone agreed that this was extremely unprofessional.

Not sure how anyone can give this establishment less than 5 stars. The staff and teachers are friendly, always smiling and my daughter comes home happy and their curriculum is outstanding. This place is a MUST VISIT. If you are lucky to get in. Count your blessings. Their outside for kids to play is huge too. Again this deserves 5+ stars.

This review is for the owner and director of the school-I have never had so much disrespect from another person. I had an issue with a teacher. I tried to discuss it with the teacher, that did not work so I went to the director. She not only did not hear any of my concerns, she was belittling and dismissive throughout every conversation. When I went to the OWNER of the school to discuss how the whole situation was being handled and how rude her staff was, I received the response that is attached below: "Staff members, including our management team, are not up for a discussion with parents."The facility is nice, the actual teachers really do seem to care about the kids, anyone else behind a desk was never a good experience and always made things difficult.

Pleasant experience with teachers and staff. Clean and welcoming. We’ve had friends with kids here for years with positive experiences as well.

I don't even want to waste my time to leave the review. Before you decided to let them taking care of your precious, talking to the rude and ignorant director, asking about the high-turnover rate of staff, actually going there to smell the smelly hallway. And thinking about why you are long waitlisted in other places, but this place is asking you to have a tour and promise to waive your registration fee. Fancy facility, VERY poor management and LOW people.Response to the owner's reply:If it is like what you said here, you are eagerly to answer question and so care about in resolving the concerns, why haven't you reply the complain email? ignore the real concern but replying review here one by one. funny. Save your time and be sincere real to take care your customer's concern NOT FAKING here.Response again: You did not reply anyone's. Period. It does not matter whose name on it. Please don't reply.

My tour with your facility was entirely different from any tour I've taken with other establishments in the area, in the sense that it felt extremely rushed. I was only taken to the one infant room and there was no mention of the Primrose philosophy or anything about the curriculum that differentiates your school from others. At the time when I took my tour, I was told there was a space available in the infant room with a December start date. I was provided a start date agreement that went over tuition fees and was told that the agreement would expire in essentially 24 hours. Your facility was the first to offer me a start date agreement, after searching and being waitlisted with other facilities for months. Because I was told of the agreement expiration date, I assumed I had some time to discuss with my husband (who was not present at the time of the tour) and we were given some time to either accept or decline the offer. I had no idea nor was I told that the same offer would be extended to another family on the very same day. Even though I emailed my form back to your facility later on that same evening, I received an email the next day stating that another family already sent in their agreement and that there were no spots available for my child. To say I was upset and extremely frustrated is an understatement. I understand I may have raised my voice to the person I was speaking with over the phone, and for that I apologize. But because I was not given the opportunity to accept or decline the offer that was initially offered within the agreement expiration date, it made me feel that your establishment does not seem to care about prospective families. Your staff does not seem to have compassion for the families that are currently undergoing this difficult process of finding childcare that is extremely limited in our area. The person that I spoke with over the phone seemed to have an attitude of "well you should have submitted your form sooner." If that is the basis of the philosophy within your establishment, then I certainly do not feel comfortable leaving my child in your care. I can only hope that you take my concerns and my situation into consideration when speaking with future prospective families.

I have worked here for almost a year. May would have been a year. First I would like to say the staff, children as well as the families I have had the pleasure of working with made coming to work fun and enjoyable. On the other hand the director of this facility has not. I have been a preschool teacher for 5 years previously and never have I had such an awful experience with favoritism, belittlement and harassment in the work place. Teachers are expected to come to work. Regardless of an illness, fever, stomach bug or even if feeling under the weather. If for some reason you need a day to rest and feel better you are called mentally unstable. The director also likes to compare her life and her feelings to other and determine wether or not it’s an “appropriate” reason to take a day. As well not having any sympathy for the staffs well-being. The director also likes to tell “little white lies” to parents in regards to their children. Although the staff treats their kiddos well, the director does not. Also, the fact that we were told not to be honest with parents due to “parent sensitivity” or if the child was behaving differently than normal or had symptoms of being sick without a fever we were told to be quiet about it.

We have been taking our son to Primrose for almost 3 years. As a baby, we took him to another facility and decided to switch after 4 months. The main consideration was the level of care that is offered here and the staff. We love the school, staff, and education! He has learned so much and has so much fun here.

I look forward to taking a tour. The director and staff have been so helpful answering questions since I began the search for child care for our daughter. This school has a great reputation in our area.My daughter’s preschool was just abruptly shut down at a nearby facility due to lack of staff attendance so I am extremely relieved to see reviews that the director holds employees accountable and sticks to their leave policies.
