I’ve had the best experience in the year that I have lived here! Indoor pool,. Outdoor pool, fitness center and the best management staff a building could ask for! Did I mention that I live one crosswalk away from the ocean ??? I just renewed my lease and I’m so excited for this next year!

Katherine Dunaway is amazing!! Every staff member there is amazing. If I knew all the staff members names I would have definitely added them! But they know who they are!!!! Very helpful, take time to help even go the extra mile! My experience here is the best( even though it’s my first place ) I love it I would have not wanted to rent else where. Many amenities HUGE PLUS!!

Deserves less than 1 star. Very poor staff, specifically Steve, Rosa and Nicole. Disgusting building overall. Roaches are everywhere!! Amenities are either broken or disgusting. Poor communicating no matter what, even tried contacting Lynd(Company who owns the building) and they ghosted us. If you want to enjoy where you live don’t move here.

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. We were planning on staying in their biggest penthouse. But we found out when we got their that they lied to us and took our money. After taking our money, they gave us a smaller penthouse uncleaned. After a day and a half, the cleaning crew finally came, cleaned the room poorly, and they charged "our room" for it. Me and my family lost 1 whole day of our vacation due to this place. Their gym, hallways, floors, pools, and chill area are all dunclean and disgusting. This place has many pot heads. While walking down the hallway, you may inhale the smell of Marijuana. Also, the staff was very much so unhelpful with the managers being delusional. During my visit, the ac didn't work, and wifi went off and on. If you are planning to go to Virginia beach for vacation, I highly suggest the Marriot right down the road/ boardwalk. They have a fantastic restaurant on the roof-Orion's, instead of a Jimmy Johns. This concludes my review of the Mayflower. By the way, their pictures are not what they seem. #false advertising!

It’s been 1 year now and my life couldn’t have gotten better. First, I LIVE ON THE BEACH, and off beach, nothing but beautiful cars and beautiful women ?.At the Mayflower, it’s like staying at an oceanfront deluxe hotel that are apartment sized. We have everything going here from fun time with the kids at the 2 pools, to neighborhood BBQ at our huge lot (free frills and gas), Mayflower sponsored events with free food and drinks, to the occasional PaRtY?!

I’ve been living here for five years and I love it! The new manager Nicole is doing an awesome job and fixing things up. Our pools got taken care of and we just had new panels installed in the elevators that meet the needs of children and people with vision issues. This building is also great for people who don’t drive (like myself) for several reasons:First of all, we got a 24 hr access to the gym that has all the necessary equipment such as ;;treadmills, ellipticals, machines for upper and lower body work outs, dumbbells, and yoga balls. It saves me a lot of money on gym membership and UberSecond of all, there are FIVE restaurants downstairs. Two of them are right inside of the building on the basement floor (JJ subs and a great breakfast spot “Ray Ray’s).Third of all, there are plentry of amazing bars, and restaurants, 7-Elevens, Harris, Teeter, and of course, the beach all within a walking distance! You can’t beat the convenience especially when the rent prices are so reasonable! And it’s a very pet friendly place!

No way, no way, no WAY!!! The elevators are always broken. The hallways are disgusting!! The smell of everyone's trash on the hall is bad enough, but the sheet amount of stains, smudges, and dirt once you get off of the first floor is astounding. The location is top tier but that's about the only thing.

Under new management Mayflower Apartments shows a new level of gratitude to creating a safe and livable place for its residents. Focused and dedicated on creating changes necessary to customers satisfaction, the new management (property managers and maintenance staff alike) seems to have nothing but the best interest for its community. Although things may not be 100% perfect, with time and patience and understanding anyone would be glad to call themselves a Mayflower resident

We lived here from Sept 2022- April 2023 and were exposed to AIRBORNE ASBESTOS during a repair to a leak in our kitchen. We do not want this to happen to anyone else, which is why I am taking the time to leave this thorough review. Unfortunately for us, the management staff of this building did not take the correct safety precautions to protect us or our living space during the repairs, resulting in our exposure to asbestos. The headache of living in this unkempt building and dealing with the cheap management company is not worth it!! The management staff onsite are friendly, but they are mismanaged, dishonest, and do not communicate with one another. They rarely answer the phone, never respond to emails, and the only way to talk to someone is by physically going down to the office. Our entire experience at the Mayflower was a complete nightmare! They should be ashamed of themselves for the way they treat their tenants and for the way they keep that building. Read below for more details but save yourself the stress by not living here!!!I could list all the other issues with this building too, but just know that all the amenities advertised are false and the state buildings cleanliness is unacceptable and anything but luxury. The real issue for us was when our kitchen started flooding and water was coming up from under the floors. Because the building was built before 1981, there was an Asbestos Addendum in our lease, which stated there was the possibility that asbestos was used in the original construction. We understood that, but unfortunately for us, the management staff must not have and did not take this maintenance repair serious enough to follow proper safety protocols.Their maintenance person cut a hole in the cement wall in our kitchen, and cut 2 of the pipes out from behind the wall. There was no plastic sheeting hung up around the work area for protection, which resulted in a thick layer of dust getting all over everything in the apartment. The dust was so thick that we could not sit in our living area for days because you could taste the dust in the air- little did we know that this was airborne asbestos flying through the air from being disturbed by the construction. When I complained to the management staff and demanded that they put up plastic, they did not and told us they did not have any. My boyfriend and I ended up buying and hanging our own plastic sheeting to protect ourselves but it was too late at that point. When they finally had a certified plumber come out, within 20 minutes he told us he couldn’t do any work because the pipes were covered in asbestos, and he would not perform the work while we were living in the space. We lived in this apartment without the use of our kitchen sink/ dishwasher, with wet kitchen floors for 39 days before moving out. While we understand it is an older building, our issues aren’t with the building, but the way our situation was handled and the way this building is kept. It was pretty clear to us that the management company just wanted to take the cheap route and in doing so, they put our safety at risk. We were good tenants that paid our rent on time, and even during these repairs, we were as understanding as we could have been, but enough is enough. They have not taken accountability for the way they handled this situation and it has been the most unpleasant living experience I have ever had. I wish I had researched better before deciding to move to this place because all these reviews speak for themselves. I hope this review helps even just one person realize that this place is not worth it!

I was so excited to have found affordable living at the oceanfront. I’ve been living here for about 6 months now and am very disappointed with the Mayflower. I regret having placed my trust in management. Every time I have come with a concern I am told something will be done but there is never any follow up! Since day 1 it’s been disappointment after another. It is such an inconvenience when doing laundry since something is always malfunctioning, the pool is NEVER open. I have 2 girls who looked forward to the move mostly because of the indoor and outdoor pool that is never accessible. There is an overwhelming amount of roaches and gnats in this building and not to mention the lack of maintenance to this old building. I am embarrassed to have company or family over. I do not recommend anyone to consider this place AT ALL. Very disappointing!!!!

I've not lived here, but I want to point something out. When an apartment complex is padding their reviews, they'll likely start the review saying something about the staff. Ignore the 5 star reviews that do that. I've lived in several apartments and it's the amenities and building upkeep that matter, not Suzy in the business office.

My boyfriend and I toured here last week, and I will say it’s a great location but the state of the building was terrible. We were shown the model which looked like it was being used as a storage unit, with things falling out of the entry closet, along with drinks and used toilet paper in the bathroom. The paint was slathered on the cabinets, along with broken cabinets and cheap looking “renovations”. I’m not sure if that was just the model, but normally the model is the representation of the community and it was a train wreck. Along with that- our leasing consultant seemed uninterested and ready for us to leave the moment we walked in. Location is great but I would not recommend this building as a fellow property manager.
