Because my daughter has soccer practice on base on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, I started going to the fitness center. I'm there from 1830 until 2000 (closing), There have only been about a dozen patrons there so getting on any of the equipment is never a problem. Staff is friendly and the facility is clean.

Nice gym. Definitely a better gym comparing to Dam Neck

Locker rooms, sauna, and steam room are beaten up with broken doors, tiles, rotted wood, and walls. The steam room is completely broken and inoperable. The front desk staff don’t enforce rules of the gym.

Great facility. Some of the members, though, kept attempting to pick up the friends I was with. People don't go to gyms to pick up dates.

Great facility, has just about everything you need if you're powerlifting, bodybuilding or just doing cardio. Contrary to older comments, it is not just for active duty. Reservists, active duty spouses/dependents, veterans, and retired military have access to this gym as well. Folks at the front desk are friendly. It's the least crowded between 8am-11am and about 1pm-3pm usually.

Free for Veterans and Active and I think dependants. For a beginner or someone who just wants to stay fit and get toned I suggest coming here. There's not that many people in the mornings and around 1800.

The gym offers a variety of fitness systems: cardio, weight training, etc. And it plays a vital part in a healthy lifestyle that enhances quality of life.

This place has seen better days. The equipment is in decent shape, just not a lot of it considering the size of the base (2x flat benches, 1x powerlifting platform for example). I can’t speak for the female locker room, but the male locker room, especially the shower area, is in sore need of repair (missing or broken tiles, mold, etc). Does have a sauna and steam room, and ample cardio machines. Staff are great

Way better then any gym on Norfolk naval base. They actually have air conditioning.

Plenty of cardio and weight training options. Their male locker room is a little dated but it gets the job done. I usually go there early afternoon and it is never that crowded. There is also a gym on one side but I don't get to use it that much. However, as far as Navy gyms go its not the worst I have been to.

The hours of this gym are really bad for a base gym. The overall facility is pretty good given the size. It would be nice if they were open by 4am to be able to work out before work.

Overall, a great facility. However, the large powerful fans located in the locker room are certainly against CDC recommendations. I am surprised other ventilation options have not been installed.
