I never write reviews, and the few reviews I have left have never been negative ones because frankly, I never want someone to loose their job. After hearing that a cashier at our local wegmans put an airtag in a little girls bag, it was a wakeup call for me to finally leave this review, because bad things do happen… even in VB. I've been contemplating leaving this review for at least 2-3 months. So here it goes.. The male employee’s. behavior that works here is highly inappropriate, particularly towards young women in the store. Ive watched his behavior every time I’ve gone in the store, mainly because I'm on high alert anytime I've needed to go in now, and he does the same thing every time. I walk in, he’s behind the register at first, once I start going down the isles, he leaves from behind the register and is soon behind me in the isle initiating conversation that has nothing to do with helping me find items, etc. He will then go down the closest isle to me once he gets the hint that I'm not interested in small talk. Once he is in the next isle, he will talk out loud about just random things, and he will even talk to me from the NEXT isle, he does this every time I go to the store. He goes up and down the isles the whole time I'm shopping.. The WHOLE TIME! Once I’m done shopping, and I’m slowly making my way towards the check out, he will also make his way towards the front of the store and goes being the register. (I do self checkout… every time) but, while I'm in self checkout, he will initiate ANOTHER conversation and will even ask personal questions sometimes. I literally feel like I’m being stalked every time I go into this store because it happens EVERY time. I don’t see him walk down the isles with anyone else in the store OR initiate multiple conversations with them, but when I go in, he does it, and I'm sure he's doing it to other young women. Once, when I was at the self-checkout wearing a skirt/dress, he went behind me, INCHES away from me, and started adjusting items on the VERY bottom shelf. For anyone who has been to the store, it was the small convenience shelf that is in the middle of the two self checkout registers. When I noticed he was behind me and put 2 and 2 together to what he was most likely trying to do, I jumped and and verbally said “what the f*** are you doing?” my boyfriend was with me this time and had to hold himself back because he watched this guy follow us through the whole store, initiating conversation with me multiple times and not my boyfriend or anyone else in the store… and then does that right as we check out, why?? My boyfriend and I didn't press the issue too much because 1. We were in shock at what just happened and 2. We’re not sure if the guy has special needs of he is just an outright CREEP. This continuous discomfort has led me to avoid visiting the store completely. I now have to drive 15min to the next Dollar Tree. The way he acts is honestly really concerning and I would hate to see something in the news one day about a situation happening at this Dollar Tree that is similar to the wegmans story… and I would feel guilty for not speaking about my experience here. I'm sure many women had strange expierences with the wegmans cashier, but didn't speak up because he is on the spectrum, and they figured he was harmless. I really hope the store manager says something so the guy is aware of how he's making women feel in the store.

Me and my dad came in at were joking around and using profanity. It ticked of the manger and she yelled in me and my dads face to stop using that language. My dad told her that he could speak however and wherever (Which is true) and she forced us out the store and took our “groceries”.

This review is on store 4778 which isn't even registered in Yelp. Address is valid at the Dollar Tree website - 4805 Shore Dr, Unit B, Virginia Beach, VA 23455. The checkout clerk made comments to me as I checked out. Members of my family were with me and heard him. He poked fun at me for records I'd brought in from the next door store. His unspoken point was get out of here you're not welcome if you can afford records. We will never again step inside or support a Dollar Tree. I guess we make too much money.

It's dollar tree. My expectations aren't set too high. They have great stuff and it's only 1.25. This is a really great place to get birthday cards if you don't want to spend 8 bucks.

Love coming here for birthday stuff crafting stuff, party stuff, and really anything :D
While I'm not a fan of them having selfnchek out.... I understand why they do , though I wish they had more than two self checkout areas especially when they are busy.

I love the disaster theme they went with when designing this store. I'm thankful they now have self checkouts because before, you'd wait a full hour in the checkout line with one cashier.

Today, April 4th 2023, my 14 year old daughter and two of her friends were shopping at this particular location. Note, I’ve been stationed here since 2014 and we always come to this store. Anyways, my daughters friend accidentally knocked over a drink and made a spill, she’s 14, accidents happen. The manager, older Caucasian lady with a mask, was EXTREMELY rude to my daughter after she offered to clean up the mess her friend made. Her friends are not African American, but my daughter is. As they paid for their items, the manager says “Stupid A** Kids” as they walked out. My daughter wouldn’t dare lie to me and to have her up there crying because she was treated so unfair, made me realize that sometimes people are just cruel to ethnicities of color. As a father that’s 40, no one should have to be treated that way, especially being a paying customer of over 5 years at this location. I’m definitely filing a former compliant.

Of the five or 6 Dollar trees I visit this is the most disorganized and not well stocked store. And I think this is the only store that opens at 9:00 instead of 8:00 like everyone else

It's my local go to $1.25 Tree store. This trip they actually had almost everything I was shopping for. Now that everything is $1.25, I can purchase most similar or same items at my local supermarkets.

Disappointed. All the grocery (Kroger, Harris Teeter) and department (Walmart, Target) stores sell Matchbox cars for $1.00. Somehow Dollar Tree has to charge $1.25 now. To cover costs? It is obvious they are abusing the necessary decision to raise costs.

Some creep stocking shelves made some rude comments to me about the "17 year old" he was working with and how she was "nice but too young" for him. Absolutely disgusting. this guy must have been in his 60s.
