I couldn't be more disappointed in an in-person banking experience. An associate helped me set up a personal account with a $400 promotion for having direct deposits in the account. The associate made a few comments that she wasn't familiar with using a promo code to open an account, but that she absolutely would do it later. I left with the promise that she would put in the code.... I'm sure it's clear to all that I never got that promotion and ended up choosing this bank for my personal account, for no reason. I even called a week later and left a message, trying to verify that the code was put in, but never got a response. On top of that - when I came in for my appointment, which I scheduled online for 12pm, they told me their system showed me as 1230 and I would have to wait until someone was free (even after I showed them the confirmation of 12pm). I waited until 1250 before being seen.If it were just a time issue, I would be totally fine - but this lack of care and follow-through lost me $400 that I qualified for... along with my time, energy, and research into what bank to use. I will be closing my account with Truist. Just awful.

Do NOT bank at this branch. Laura, bank manager, uses unethical and questionably illegal maneuvers to secure and maintain personal and business accounts which benefit her bank’s branch. Do not share personal information with them! Laura will use this to her advantage, in all ways! Complaints have been filed against her and this branch. Please do not believe any of their *advice, do not use this bank for loans or any long term banking! Beware! Move your accounts to another branch, at the least, or better yet- to another bank!

Do not use this branch! Keep your assets and have them moved ASAP. Laura, bank manager, uses unethical and fraudulent practices to keep business and personal accounts. She and staff use personal private information for their own gain and to keep customers investing in what they *advise, despite customer's best interest. This staff will act like they truly care what's best for you, while taking everything you have. Take your business to a real bank, avoid this branch and Truist in general!

This is the worst branch of any financial institution I have ever encountered. In order to open a CD, you apparently have to “apply” to qualify for a higher paying account, even when using existing funds on deposit. You can’t make this stuff up. Part of the application process involves being asked questions about accounts established at other financial institutions, which is none of their business. The rate you receive is apparently dependent on how you answer their questions, which seems totally unethical to me. Try to escalate any concerns to the Branch Manager, and good luck receiving a response. No thank you.

Every time I go into this branch there is racial tension. I never get assisted by any of the staff when I’m the only white person in there. My online banking was hacked and everyone said I couldn’t be helped. This is the worst group of people managing my money I’ve ever experienced. I’m going to switch banks and go back to Wells Fargo.

This bank is now a Truist bank on general booth in Virginia Beach these people need a lot of help with customer service and welcoming they have one teller at the window one teller at the front allowing customers to deposit thousands of dollars that checks that one time when really a banker should be helping that customer so that the teller can take on the bank and a teller walked out on break as there was a line in the lobby literally 17 minutes and no one ever said hello welcome to trueist or saywe'll be with you in one moment or anything... I'll continue to go to my home bank which is the one on Laskin Road

The new Truist is understaffed and what help they do have has a bad attitude. Mobile app and online banking access is a burden the likes of I've never seen before. They must want all the old BB&T customers to leave because its just terrible. There is no other word but TERRIBLE!

This morning I went to this BBT branch to get copy of a document notarized. The teller told me that she is unable to notarize it because she did not make the copy from the original document herself, and that the bank does not have a copy machine so she is unable to make a copy herself. She directed me to go to the nearby OneMain Financial about 100 steps away and said they will be able to help me. Very strange!! Well, I also have a checking account with Langley Federal Credit Union. So, I decided to go there. The teller there was very courteous and she compared the copy I gave her with the original document and gladly notarized it right away. Time for me to move my savings from BBT to Langley Federal Credit Union!

Went to this BB&T first time ever to cash a title max check when i pulled up the lady was already rude she kept the check for over 5 minutes just looking at me through the window then came back and said we can’t verify who this came from and title max doesn’t open for another hour . I’ve cashed a check at another BB&T before a couple times with no issues ever ! this inconvenienced next and also made me feel discriminated honestly. Walmart doesn’t even call to verify . I wish i would’ve gotten her name !

Chrystal & Teresa and the rest of the staff have taken care of my parents banking for years. They always looked forward to going to the bank.

I had an issue w my landlords posting my rent twice and they were no help at all so I called and spoke to Teresa at the General Booth location. She tried so hard to help even though I pretty much knew it was too late. I so appreciate her efforts and suggestions. And just the fact that she sincerely felt bad for what we were going through. Great customer service. Great representative.

Short fat white woman with an attitude and food stuck in her teeth needs to learn to speak clearly. When I ask if there is a fee for cashing a bb&t account holder check there even though I don't have an account with you say "yes, it's a dollar" I say ok. The check was for $100. She came back with $92. Me: " I thought it was only a dollar" she says as she uses her cow tongue to remove food from in between her teeth " oh no I said $8, you must've misheard me" Every one I know who banks with bb&t and those that don't are going to hear this story. Never going there or bb&t ever again.
