My husband and I have been taking our taxes to Hampden for years. Every year it seems our tax preparation price has gone up. We thought it was for this or that, but we had a simple return this year. We like to drop off our taxes; while filling out the information on the iPad in the office, we were told, \\\"Hey, I can have your taxes done now, so you don't have to come back.\\\" Okay, cool. We were charged $232! It took us more time to try and enter the info on the iPad than it did for her to prepare our taxes. That is how simple our taxes were. Then we were told we would owe on our federal return, which we were shocked about because we have never had this happen. This didn't sit well with me, so I went home, reviewed our taxes, and started looking around on the internet. I found a tool on Turbo Tax that lets you put your info in and gives you an estimate of your return; super easy. I entered everything as they asked from our taxes, and low and behold; we did not owe. I called Monday and spoke with Elexa, who prepared our taxes, and told her what I found. I told her she did not include our daycare expenses. She replied, \\\"Oh, it didn't, but I see it here. The software didn’t carry it over.\\\" Then she dared to say, \\\"But we won't charge you for this.\\\" Excuse me! I hope you wouldn’t charge us for your mistake. She even told my husband the same thing. My husband and I felt it was rude and distasteful for her to say that to us. Then it took over a week for her to get the amended form for us to sign. In the meantime, I'm growing more frustrated. I called back and asked Elexa what the holdup was. I hear it can take more than 20 weeks for amended returns. Her reply was, \\\"Oh no, that was during covid. Now it takes like five weeks.\\\" And here we are, almost ten weeks later, and the government hasn't moved on our amended return. I must add one more thing to this entire debacle, Elexa told me, \\\"I'm glad WE found this mistake.\\\" We? Don't you mean ME! I found the mistake! My husband would have never bothered trying to figure out why we owed, and he would have gone on and paid the federal amount owed and thought no more about it. So now I'd like to know if the other year's taxes were correct. Please look over your taxes is all I can suggest before you sign. We will not be going back to HTS ever again. Turbo Tax will be our way of doing taxes from now on. My suggestion for HTS is to have your employees review each other's prepared customer taxes, then at least two sets of eyes are looking at each one to find mistakes before they are processed. Hamden, you can save next year's letter and stamp and not bother sending us anything to prepare our taxes again.

As busy as they were, they made me feel like I was the only one there. They were all so kind, special thanks to Phillip and Christy. My taxes were filed quickly and Phillip had answers to my endless questions. I also learned about other services they offer that I will be using in the future. This was my 2nd year using HHTS, I'm definitely a customer for life ❤️

I used this places for a few years until I received my first audit. I pay people to do my taxes as this is not my area of expertise. On my first audit I had to do all of the leg work myself including preparing documents and figuring it all out myself. They were willing to review my materials before i sent them into the revenue service, however, it was very difficult to even be seen here. I spent hours preparing all of my documentation on my own wondering why i even payed these people the amount of money i did. So, I figured ok its over I will never be audited again. Well i was audited for the second time the following year and again no assistance or backup from my tax people again. I will never go to this place again and i assure you that if anything happens involving an audit you will receive little to no support in the matter. I would highly advise people to steer clear of this place!

Have a great experience with Hampton Hills. First time getting my taxes done and made the switch from Turbo Tax. Elexa was amazing and handled everything for me and my husband. Everyone in the office is so nice and professional. Highly recommend.

If I knew how to maximize my tax refund, I would just do my taxes myself. I don't, so I have them prepped for me. Admittedly, I made the mistake of leaving a W2 at home when turning in my papers to him. Phillip might be a nice guy, but for the $150 he charges, he couldn't be bothered to notice that there was a 6 month gap in my employment over the 1 year of taxes he was doing. He didn't ask. He didn't try. He didn't do anything. 1 year of taxes, and 6 months of employment missing isn't noteworthy? If I have to hold YOUR hand to walk you through your job, then why am I paying you to do it? Phillip offered me a $600 return. I cancelled and was suddenly talked down to as though I was too young and clueless to know what I was doing. I took my taxes to Liberty and received $2900 as my return, which was far more in line with what I was expecting... all because Phillip was too busy and couldn't be bothered to ask a few questions to make sure I wasn't about to throw away $2,300 I would have otherwise never seen. Phillip and his secretary ARE nice.... until you tell them they've lost your business. Then watch how fast they turn.
