Equinox is my safe space.ً

I am writing this review to help others considering joining this gym avoid the money pitfalls that I experienced.1. When I signed-up for the gym and was shown the kids club and told it was "temporarily closed". This was a major factor in joining this gym. The kids club was never re-opened and Equinox told me that that was not a valid reason to approve a membership cancellation and would be liable to pay the remaining 7 months of the membership.2. Membership hold: I put my membership on hold for 1 month due to travel and was charged a $50 fee without ever communicating what the cost would be.3. When I finally decided to cancel my membership, I communicated it through the main Equinox customer service. They apparently do not communicate information with the actual gym you are a member at. So, I continued to be charged for personal training sessions through a subscription. I was charged for a total of 6 sessions in the month following my cancellation. I was told that they would not issues a refund even though I had already canceled my membership. There were a total of 8 unused sessions that were left and two weeks left of my membership. Several communications with the Equinox customer's service where a refund was promised and never given. That was 4 months ago.4. Once I notified my trainer I had cancelled my membership I tried to coordinate with her to get as many sessions scheduled as I could, as to not loose out on money, and all communication stopped. I had a total of 7 sessions left on my account. All money waisted.I was at the gym for almost 2 years and worked exclusively with one trainer for that entire time. I just would expect a gym of this caliber and this price point would do better.

Came around 2:30pm on a Monday and it was pretty empty. Perfect. The staff seemed nice too.

I am completely disgusted by the customer service in what is supposed to be a luxury gym. The staff is extremely rude, unresponsive. Worst gym ever!

I was considering to rejoin the club and ANNABELL BUEME was very helpful and this is the first time I ever felt the membership advisor was effective and thoughtful.

This is the worst place to go. Firstly, they never showed me a contract. Nothing was ever signed, with no terms and conditions. When giving my credit card, I asked one question if I would be able to pause my membership at any time? I was told, "Yes." I paused 2 months later, and they charged me while paused 5 additional months. I returned to the country but no longer worked in the area nor lived there I told them to cancel and spoke to their head Manager Joe out of the DC location as Anthony at tysons just didnt want to reason. Joe said no problem, they will discard the 3 months for free. Joe asked me what it would take to bring me back. I said when i asked for pausing the service when traveling and not paying. He said they could not do. Per EQUINOX new policy, they still will charge customers while pausing the service. I said that doesn't work for me. I never signed a contract, and I was never given one to even read the terms and conditions because had i known this, i would never have provided any credit card information. Not only this, i was told they only way to come EQUINOX is that i must work or live in the area. Well, i dont live in the area, and i lost my job, so i no longer work in that area either. Joe said he was sad to see me go. I asked him to look at the contract that Anthony sent me as i have never seen that before, and it has none of my signatures anywhere. Now i received a call from the collections they want me to pay for 3 additional months sent me to collections. I asked the lady from collections to see that contract and show me where it has my signatures she even said that without a legally binding contract, they should not have sent this to collections. I added her, Joe, and Anthony on the email. 2 days have passed, and there no honorable response from any one of them. I had to tell them that by law, there needs to be a contract in place. So now I must take this in small claims court as without any contract I shouldn't be paying. They should have told me their terms and conditions when they asked for my CCDo yourself a favor and DO NOT attend Money Hungry Gym with no morals. I wrote to Joe, their head manager, as he told me they would waive and call it a day when he too saw no signatures, no legit contract was signed. In the state of VA, a contract has to be signed to be lawfully binding. Now I will have to spend my time in small claims court to show that I am not legally liable to pay when I was never given any contract to sign from March to July they collected enough money from me while I was not even in the country. They seem so money hungry that they don't honor their words!!!! And what happened to Joe's a Head Distract or was he Regional manager who said he would waive the last 3 months to now get a call from collections without any legitimate contract on file how does this gym have a reputation???? I have saved all my emails, and I know I didn't even see a contract. Never mind sign one.Ok they have contacted me since and swore it was a mistake that I didn't owe them any money and will take care of collections so I will do my part and take this down next week as soon as I get a confirmation I will delete this post just awaiting confirmationOk update I just received another letter from their collections so they still haven't kept their promise. Silly thing is the collections lady Sally is saying they sent her a contract I asked her to check for signatures and she was dumb founded. So the battle is still on going when is equinox going to do the right thing? They told me they would take care of this error the question is WHEN????

Equinox Tyson's Corner impresses with its clean, modern setting, featuring a coveted lap pool--a rare find among DC Equinox locations. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness make working out here enjoyable through their positive service. There are a variety of engaging classes available throughout the day. Free parking is a convenient perk, and the standard amenities like steam rooms, eucalyptus towels, and Kiehl's products in the showers elevate the experience. It's worth noting the downside lies in the locker rooms, which require you to bring your own lock, unlike other Equinox locations with built-in locks. I came here to get a good workout in a positive and modern atmosphere, this Equinox excelled.

I'm really disappointed to share an unfavorable review of this location. While visiting family in the area for Christmas my partner and I stopped into this location to work out on Christmas Day. My parent is a long time member of equinox and has 8 guest passes. Unfortunately the very abrupt manager wouldn't allow him to use a guest pass for me. She said I could work out for a $75 charge. It was 12:45 pm and the gym closes at 2:09 pm. I said no thanks! They also wouldn't let me go downstairs to fill my water bottle and I had to practically beg to use the bathroom while my partner was working out. I guess the Equinox Tysons message is Profit over People.

I was treated very poorly by the front desk person named ACI. I Had a day pass to check out this location and Aci scans the pass very rudely without welcoming or saying hello he touches my phone. I ask if the pass scan went through ok? He says yes. I go in. After I go into the locker room and I come out he's out there looking for me and tells me I can't use the facilities. The day pass was valid but he's on a power trip and cannot let me check the facilities I seriously was about to sign on a year membership But he treated me so poorly and made to look like a peasant. He didn't let me workout or even look at the rest of the place. Didn't even get to see the equipment area. !!! What a waste of drive and getting ready to workout then wasn't allowed to. If this is how ppl are treated when they're trying to impress you to sign up and take your money I can't imagine how the rest will go. I think the staff want to keep the place as low volume as possible so they'd have to do less work but the management need to know this is going on they're literally turning people away that are becoming new members. Because of ACI I didn't get to workout. I didn't get to see the gym. And I didn't sign a year membership. I guess I'll go look into a diff gym. I don't know if they want new members but I would guess no. .

THEY HAVE A SPA!!! A hidden secret you must try! The massage I received today by DELEIGH, was amazing! Her magical ability to find the tight spots and work all the muscles is spot on. DELEIGH's training, knowledge and experience combined with her soft-spoken professional manner, care and concern, always make me feel at ease. She takes the time to ask all the right questions up front and during massage, ensuring the pressure, heat, aroma, etc., are right for me. The spa is beautiful and inviting. The room was clean, appropriately lit and music was relaxing. The heated massage table is luxurious! They have a nice steam room and showers including towels and toiletries providing a nice way to end the visit. My skin so soft and smooth now, an added bonus! I feel new from head to toe.ASK for DELEIGH when you schedule your massage, she is trained in many techniques, will treat you with respect and take good care of you. You will not be disappointed.
