My husband and I loved our stay at The Chesapeake Inn. We stayed with our 7-month-old baby and our dog and they both had a great time, too! We found our room ready with a travel crib set up for our baby and treats and a bed for our dog. There were snacks free of charge in the room which was such a treat because I'm so used to not even looking at overpriced hotel snacks. The duvet was amazing. I want it for my bedroom (seriously... where is it from??)! They even had robes which were surprisingly comfortable. We enjoyed hanging out in the lobby with our baby--there are toys in baskets for children. The outdoor courtyard area is beautifully decorated. The service was wonderful. The owners thought of everything and provided towels and a day pass to the community pool nearby in the room, along with a local newspaper which was fun to peruse. They also left a guide of things to do in the town and surrounding area and had bikes for guests to use. We took some of their restaurant recommendations and we were very happy with our meals. I highly recommend staying here if you are in the area! I can't say enough good things about it.

Lovely hotel. Stayed with my family for a weekend getaway. Nicely decorated and a great location to explore the area. Met the owners who are very hospitable and welcoming. Would come back!

We were in town to install a flagpole and was told to stay here, that I would like it. A total small town vibe. Pea gravel parking lot. Walked into the room and on the bed were a newspaper, chocolate chip cookies, and a note that said all the snacks and water were complimentary.
We ate bbq just down the street that was great. We walked back to our Inn and noticed the bicycle rack out front, that said free to guest. They weren’t chained up. I live in a hill city where nothing is flat, so, at 66 years old I hadn’t ridden a bicycle in a very long time. I tightened up the handle bars and rode up and down the street enjoying myself more than I thought possible. It was fun. That is what made my trip. lol. It wasn’t possible to be disappointed at this Inn. I hope to get another opportunity to work in the area so I can stay here again.
Here is my flagpole.

Honestly, I can say that the experience was the best. Gari and Matt are so incredibly helpful and kind. They knew it was my birthday weekend and went out of the way to have a few little surprises for me in the room. I was blown away at the kindness of an upgraded room, the cleanliness of the entire Inn, the communication, the amenities, and just everything. It was all just so so wonderful that my wife and I are already planning to come back. If you are planning on staying anywhere nearby, check here first, and you will not be disappointed!Rooms: The rooms are immaculately clean and tidy.Walkability: So much to do and see within walking distance. Many good places to eat!Noteworthy details: The owners are such kind and friendly people. They say they want you to have the best time and they mean it.

A gem of an Inn in the quiet, quaint small town of Urbanna, VA. The Innkeepers/owners, Gari and Matt, were generous, kind, and accommodating. They made our visit a 5 star adventure, from the personalized welcome letter, to a tray of snacks, a warm bathrobe, bicycles to explore the town, and pet friendly accommodations with pet beds and water bowls awaiting our pups’ arrival. Everything was great! The Chesapeake Inn is only 2 hours from the chaos of Northen Virginia and not to be missed for a quick getaway when needing some peace, tranquility, and relaxation. Once there, it’s a two minute walk to several delicious restaurants and small shops, and a quick five minute walk to the river. The bed, linens, and towels were super comfy, the shower piping hot, and Wi-Fi dependable. A beautifully decorated lobby invites guests to mingle while relaxing comfortably. Thank you for a great visit!

Comfortable and tastefully appointed.Walkability: Right in the middle of Urbana, nothing is more than a short walk from the hotel

My family stayed at The Chesapeake Inn this past Saturday, October 14 thru Sunday, October 15 and I can’t wait to return. This Inn is one of a kind and has everything for everyone, including your pets. The first thing that caught my eye was the beautifully designed lobby. It’s lively, fun, and classy. It also has children’s toys which I thought was a great touch. My daughter and I loved their shop called Ballgown Barefoot and we were able to purchase some take home goodies. Each room has a different theme and ours Nautical. We slept amazing and truly felt at home. The last thing I want to mention is the owners and staff. Gari and Matt are genuinely great people. We appreciated the time they took out of their day to sit and chat with us. It’s hard to find owners who try and get to know their visitors. The staff was fantastic. Any accommodation or request we asked for was no issue for them. I can’t say enough great things about this place and will recommend to everyone.

Looking forward to the next opportunity to stay here….and for much longer.A last minute need for an accommodation had us calling here where they’d just had a last minute cancellation for the weekend, lucky us!Quaint and well appointed establishment where it’s obvious that Gari and Matt care very deeply for your comfort and convenience. Our arrival to the lobby and our room reminded us of a House and Garden magazine cover. Our room was lit and cool after a long day on the road. There was a welcoming note and letter explaining the many features from activities, games and books as well as offerings of snacks and local places for food and drinks for day and night. The room was very clean, cozy and inviting. Quite possibly the fluffiest, comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in…. Like a dream. This establishment is a gem!

WOW! WOW! WOW!The Chesapeake Inn is an incredibly unique experience! We were delighted to check-in to a NON cookie cutter hotel room. And we were overjoyed with all the detail to each guest room. The bedding was decadent! As were the bath towels and robes. We had a basket of treats, fabulous soaps and shampoos and a full size refrigerator with water. Local reading material was also provided. A personalized hand written note was sitting on the table upon our arrival. The room was VERY clean.Everyone we met was so warm and welcoming! They were genuinely happy to see us. The lobby is outrageously chic and eclectic. Stunning pieces of repurposed and antique furniture. Original artistry spotted the walls. I actually wanted to sit in every. single. chair! AND....free coffee and free chocolate kisses, OH MY!There were bikes available (ride at your own risk) and surreys (but not working at the time). Wonderful outside seating every where! There were even full size umbrellas in a stand outside the rooms if needed!!! Details that mattered! The only thing that gave the room 4 stars was our bathtub was dripping steadily all night and the shower head was rickety. An easy fix on a weekday, I'm sure.I would definitely drive 7 hours again just to stay at the Chesapeake Inn. Loved it so much. Worth every penny.

We have stayed at the Chesapeake Inn several times, and always feel welcomed and taken care of. During COVID the new owners renovated the rooms to make them more attractive and comfortable. They even welcome your pups! We highly recommend the Inn when visiting the Urbanna area, and are already looking forward to our next visit.
