Took my pooch, Flynn, in as he had broken a canine tooth and it had become infected. They saw him quickly and had the tooth out within 3 days of the initial visit. Great care from Dr. Havrila and staff. All sweethearts. They listened to my concerns and reassured me of his care, and gave a very reasonable cost estimate. Final bill was actually $50 less than the estimate, including the initial visit. Let me also state that I am returning to BVH from VCA Animal Hospital because of significantly higher pricing. Roughly 3X the cost there. Thanks to the staff for taking such good care of my best friend. I'll be back!

OMG..they are beyond awesome. I was so worried about my Yorkie not being able to walk on all fours. I asked Olivia ( such a beautiful name) how they operate their emergency appointments. I understand now how it works. They called me when they had a cancelation. I arrived, and they were awesome. Dr. Muse was FANTASTIC! I would recommend them to the world. I am so happy I transferred my fur babies' records to them. Dr. Muse was not quick for surgery. We are doing Laser Thereapy. I really recommend this Veterarian for your fur babies. They are beyond fantastic!!!!!

We were in an emergency situation and called Botetourt veterinary Hospital. We had an appointment at another veterinarian and when we got there there was a sign on the door that said the power was out and we would need to call emergency vet services or Botetourt veterinary Hospital. We called Botetourt veterinary Hospital and explained the situation. They were so kind, understanding and compassionate. They told us to come to their facility and that they would work us in. This was the day before Christmas Eve and we had a 13-year-old large dog that needed to be put to sleep. They brought in my family of four along with our beloved 13 year old large dog and handled every detail of the situation better than we ever expected. They not only dealt with putting our dog to sleep, they compassionately dealt with four bawling crying humans. Because we had an appointment at the other veterinarian we knew the cost of having your dog put to sleep. I had already called the emergency vet clinic to find out how much it would cost if we had it done there. Botetourt veterinary clinic was priced below either of the other two offices which was absolutely shocking to me. Their facility was clean, their staff is professional and their prices are reasonable. I can't thank them enough. Andrea Wilson

Our little shitzu/chihuahua mix girl Sookie got bit and everybody, especially Dr. Miller took such good care of her. By the time we left, Sookie was back to her old self and feeling better. Highly recommended.

We are not happy how this played out. We didn't want to spend too much money to have our doggy fixed. So we shopped around. Our usual Vet, Cave Spring, was approximately 500 dollars. They are a wonderful vet, but we need just don't want to pay that much. When we first called Botetourt Vet hospital, we provided general details so we could get an estimate for their services. It was about 350 not counting the office visit. We thought on it and called to make an appointment to set it up. Again, the second time we called the estimate was approximately 350 dollars. We provided the size/age of the animal, AT THAT TIME. We locked in a date and we waited. The night before we received a message that confirmed the appointment time, but also the NEW price. It had jumped from a round 350 dollars to approximately 450 dollars. I called and talked to Nicole. She didn't care that I was upset. She said the price had not been accurate the first two estimates because they charged us for a puppy instead of a adult. And, that was the minimum we would pay in case the animal was pregnant. (Even this was an awkward part of the conversation. I understand animals do the darndest things, but we physically walk our dog, on our property to do her business, each and every time. I could sense this smirk in her voice as she said "we need to be sure." That's fine, but again, I think I should have the benefit of the doubt about where my dog has been and her love life. I was upset. She didn't seem to care that I was upset. We had told them-TWICE- how old the animal was during our initial phone calls. Apparently nobody paid attention to detail? But they must have written the age and size down since we received the "revised" price. She was not Ms. customer service. The optics DO NOT look good to add another 100 or more dollars the night before and then have this "que sera sera" attitude. Especially after you look for a payment plan with a fixed price. We cancelled not only because of the price hike, but the manner in which she handled it. And on a side note; she said "make sure you bring in the "New Client Coupon." Personally, why print and waste paper when they could check our name in their database to know we are new?

Dr. Stewart was so kind & caring when we brought our sweet cat Big Head Todd in last Friday. He had been hit by a car & didn’t make it, everyone at BVH was very supportive as we had to put him to rest.

This is the best vet's office I have ever been to. The staff is amazing. Dr. Bailey was the one who first took care of our dogs over 13 years ago and still does. He is always so kind and caring. Dr. Muse and Dr. Stewart have also taken care of our dogs with the utmost care when Dr. Bailey was not available. Dr. Stewart was so very thoughtful to help me through at a very crucial and heart wrenching time when one of our dogs had to be put down recently. She went above and beyond the call for sure. I cannot say enough about this place. I will miss everyone there when the time comes for us to move.
