New to the area. Walked into the store and dealt with a Caucasian male with gray hair, probably in his 70's with sort of an initial gruff attitude. I believe his name to be Don. I went there to see about possibly consigning a firearm with the shop. With the new laws abolishing private party sales, I was seeking a FFL holder to sell it. When asking him specific questions on how the law(s) apply to selling through an FFL holder and how he would do this so that we were both within the legal boundaries, he suddenly became defensive and accused me of trying to tell him how to run his business. This was highly inappropriate and totally out of line as I was only asking questions. When I tried to de-escalate his anger and hostilities, he became even more hostile. I therefore left and will never return there. I'm surprised that this shop stays in business if this is an example of their usual customer service practices.

I needed a box of ammo and so I made my first visit to the Toano General Gun Store. This is a great place and a great set of guys, Don the owner, Jim and Charles the gunsmith, great service and knowledge, I will certainly return many times.

My husband and I have brought at least 10 guns here, probably way more lol We love Don he always has great inventory and great deals. It’s one of those places you can just walk-in and have a great conversation while there. We drive over an hour just to come see him. Highly recommend!

Price gouging on ammo, I bought ammo for 35 a box near home yesterday and they are wanting 65 a box for the same ammo, don't screw the costumer to make a few more bucks ! This place should be put out of business for stuff like this

Absolutely love this place. Went there to pick up a mag and found they actually had .223 in stock. Great customer service. Most friendly gun store I’ve ever been to. Very knowledgeable and they have a really cool custom gun on display.
