Dr. Monica Chapman and Dr. Nolan are awesome vets. The front desk is always helpful. I wouldn't go anywhere else. I drive an hour one way just to get here. Highly recommend ❤️ Thanks to everyone Piedmont small animal clinic ❤️Update: Had a medical issue come up and the staff fit me into their schedule promptly. We met Dr. Potts and we love her too! Sweet with our girl Magpie and listened to our concerns. You can't go wrong with Piedmont small animal clinic ❤️❤️❤️

I don’t write reviews very often but I feel this place warrants it! My dog had an FHO surgery at Piedmont back in January that was arranged by the rescue we adopted her from. She recovered amazingly, but unfortunately last week her other hip luxated and we found out she would need an FHO on the other side. I reached out to Piedmont to see if it would be possible to book the same surgeon, knowing these book several weeks out at least. To my surprise, Piedmont called me back after a couple of days. They had reached out to the surgeon and they could schedule her for surgery 48 hours later! Other places I reached out to said a consult was over a month out and surgery would be scheduled after that, but Piedmont had worked to get her in as soon as possible. I really felt like they cared about my pup and that is the people you want working on your pet. We are so happy to have gotten the surgery done as soon as possible and get her on the road to recovery. Thank you Piedmont!

I cannot recommend The Small Animal Clinic enough! They are always available to help us during emergency visits, and regular care. The staff and Doctors there are amazing, caring, and so attentive to our special fur babies. Just recently we had to help my 17 year old furr baby across the rainbow bridge. Everyone was so compassionate, and understanding while I blubbered my way through the process. I never felt rushed, and we received the personal, and professional care that my Luna needed during her last night. Thank you everyone at The piedmont small animal clinic

I love this place! I never leave here shocked by the bill; I feel the prices are more than reasonable. My pet was seen by Dr. Thayer twice before we sadly decided to have him euthanized, which was hard but I was so comforted and touched by how compassionate the staff were. My experience was so wonderful that when my family got a new pet, we have returned to Piedmont. Dr. Thayer is so incredibly smart and experienced, and when confronted with something she’s not totally confident on- she reaches out to a network of colleagues- which I personally love. I had the pleasure of meeting a veterinarian student who accompanied Dr. Thayer for my pets exam the last time I was there. I appreciate this is a teaching hospital, and it demonstrates the quality of care your pet will receive.

The folks at Piedmont Small Animal Clinic are simply the best. My dog and her sister are both patients at the clinic and I can’t say enough nice things about them. The dogs are treated wonderfully and everything is explained clearly and concisely to me.

Disappointed in overall experience. Emergency vet more thoughtful than service received here. Considering a change.

I have been using this clinic for about 2 years and couldn’t be happier with their service! I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else at this point : )

I've been brining my furr babies to Dr. NOLAN for 8+ years. She did my boston terrier's eye removal surgery. One eye and then 6 months later the other eye had to be removed due to detached retna, and other cornea degenerative eye problems. It's been over a year now and jezel is still thriving and doing exactly as she had been prior to surgery. I was worried about quality of life with her and she has done nothing but continue on being her spunky self. She will be 11 in October and still acts like a pup. Dr. NOLAN left all the muscle around the eye and eyebrow. When jezel "looks" at us which she does :) her little eyebrows still move. It's superb work! Not to mention she did my golden retrievers spay a couple months ago which also was beautiful work. The communication before during and after visits and procedures are always top notch care. I live an hour away and still will only take my pets to this office. The clinical staff are always very positive and caring and go the extra mile. Hard to find that nowadays. Front office staff are polite and caring and work with you in emergency situations and work well with your schedule if needed. My family thanks you all and astrid and jezel do too. ?

This was my son's review. I'm mom. Friday I had to take camber to the vet because she was limping, so Thursday I was trying to get her a vet appointment which warren county vet wouldn’t answer their phones, called like 6 times during business hours. A year ago or so I took her to purcellville and they muzzled her, she has never bitten anyone just cautious of people. And the doctor was afraid of large dogs, keeping his distance at times so I refuse to take her back to that one. My mom recommended “the small animal clinic at piedmont” and they answered their phone, got me in the next day, didn’t muzzle camber, they actually pet her and fed her cheese wiz and camber is doing much better. Also camber trusted them and I could see that.

Very disappointed in DR Pots. When a customer is lied to, as I was, it shows how stupid the service is because, only a stupid service, lies to good honest customers. Here's the scoop: I had an appointment for my cat however, my cat got an eye infection. My wife instructed me to call the Vet and let them know. I was told by the front desk, over the phone, that there would be a charge for the exam. I said of course however, they did not tell me that there would be an extra charge on top of the $85 charge, this was the first lie. Then when I dropped my cat off, I called back and told the front office that my wife would not be able to pick the cat up until 5:30, I was told that no one would be there, 2nd lie: they were open til 7:00. Next, I was told by Dr Pots that I would be given a small amount of food to see if my cat would eat it, third lie. I was told by Dr Pots that she was sending me home with some eye medicine, I ask her what kind? She said it was an ointment. I told her I was unable to put that type of eye medicine in my cats eye. She said I'm giving it to you, 4th lie. She charged me $75 for it. When I got home I called the office and told them that they had charged me an extra $48 on top of the $85 office visit. I told them that they couldn't do that without disclosing it. The office drone said they had, 5th lie. My wife took the food and the ointment back and got my credit back on it and was told that the office manager would be calling me. Damage is already done doesn't matter what the office manager does or says, I will be taking my business somewhere else. Lucky for me that I paid with AMEX: I have opened a case with them, and I guarantee that they will get the felonious charge back for me if the office manager doesn't take care of it. Damage done, would not recommend this VET!! Words for thought: Good people don't lie to their customers!!

If I could give the place more than 5 stars, I certainly would.... without hesitation. Dr. Monica Chapman is by far the best Bet around. A blend of conventional medicine, with more natural approach has proven beneficial to all my pups. She goes the extra mile and calls to follow up, unlike any other Vet I have used. Visit Dr Chapman you and your animals will be grateful.

If I could give them 10 out of 5 stars I would! I can't recommend Dr. Chapman highly enough. She takes a look at the entire patient and looks for the root of issues and isn't quick to push a prescription unless it's really necessary. She combines traditional and integrative medicine in her approach to give the best care possible, and takes the time to discuss things thoughtfully and thoroughly, and is very respectful of the owner's knowledge and understanding of their companion animals. And the staff is always friendly and helpful!

Dr.Monica Chapman is amazing, knowledgeable about herbal remedies when applicable and truly cares about animals. Today I felt I needed to let people know how awesome Juliet is as well. She has helped me and my dog Rocket throughout this holiday weekend, more than once. These people truly have the animals best interest at heart. I am grateful, thankful and wish everyone at Piedmont Small Animal Clinic the best holidays & Wonderful New year ❤️

The staff and vets were all extremely nice. However I came to them with a dental emergency and they were not comfortable performing any procedures without extensive testing. Then put on hold because of anaplasmosis. 1 month of treatment. Then wanted to follow up with further testing. My senior dog had lost 12% of his bodyweight at this point. It was beyond critical. I began calling and researching extensively. I realized dog dental specialists exist. While I felt very stupid, they got me in same week and did surgery same day. My poor dog had several rotting teeth and an infected hole from roof of mouth to nasal cavity. None of his other possible health concerns justified any vet allowing him to continue on in such pain. I should have been referred or educated on a specialists if they were not comfortable treating him. Tom never should have been allowed to experience this much pain. Please see a specialist not a general practice for real pet concerns.
