So much nicer than a state/national Park campground. During the weekdays in summer there are only a couple people each night spread across several acres. The flies are a little bothersome, but there were NO mosquitoes when I stayed in the beginning of August.WIFI!I parked a class c with a motorcycle. I didn't mind running the generator for AC all night because others are spread so far away. Very close to old rag trailhead, but a little farther from the entrances to Shenandoah national Park. So be cognizant of what your daily plans are if they include going into Shenandoah.

Great area to camp as long as you have a generator. The only bad this is there are 2 dump stations to dump at but you have to make pre arrangements to use them, otherwise they are locked. Plenty of room so that you aren't cramped on top of one another. It's 12 bucks per person per night.

We never found the showers but they exist somewhere. You just park and find a spot to set up your tent. It costs $12 per person for a tent. There are vault toilets all around.

Beautiful area! Dogwood Cabin was lovely. We had 9 ladies there and truly enjoyed our stay! I highly recommend horseback riding and visiting the farm animals. Walk to the little store just a few steps from the cabin one morning to grab a nice breakfast. I also highly recommend watching the sunrise from the top of a mountain!

A unique primitive campground for equine campers, RVs and tent campers alike! Water spikets available, toilet house, barn with stalls for rent or pitch a fence. Access to easy local horse trails and foot hikes as well as access to Shenandoah National Park for miles and miles of trails!! Local store/deli and farm resturant right there! Cottages for rent as well. Very dog friendly!!!

Attended the music festival. Great time overall but would like more Bluegrass like the old days. Understand that may not sell but seemed count of people was a little low and more BG may be answer. Otherwise great location, food, service , and facilities.

Rural camping, no electricity, two portable water fountains available, free choice of your favorite spot. You can use the showers of the dormitory. Like it. Horses welcome.

Affordable campground with plenty of porta potties and well water stations around the field. Pick your own spot, there are no pre-assigned plots of land. There is a decent general store that makes sandwiches right next door which is helpful!

Great place to visit. Lots of things to do near by. There is a well stocked store with excellent prepared meals within walking distance. Best hiking in central Virginia.
