I can't speak to the atmosphere as I have only ordered take out but the place seems clean. We usually order the 24" pizza. My only complaint is they leave a large portion as crust. They could take it the sauce out further or add dipping sauce. It hasn't stopped my from getting the pizza tho.

No longer called Sal's but strangely serves the exact same food. Pizza is still a little to greasy for my taste but I still enjoy the hot wings. Pastas are good but nothing stands out about them and garlic knots can taste doughy most times.

Will not return.Called order in and person who answered the phone wasn't familiar with menu. I ordered a cheese steak deluxe only to get a regular cheese steak smh. Then to get to the restaurant to receive poor customer service. First and last time at this location. Do not recommend

It pains me to write this review about Il Paseno, a restaurant that has often been a go-to spot for many locals, including myself. While the food and service are usually commendable, my recent experience left a bitter taste in my mouth.Let's start with the positives. The food at Il Paseno has consistently been rated at a respectable four stars, and for good reason. Their menu boasts a variety of tantalizing dishes that cater to different tastes, and the execution is usually spot-on. Additionally, I must commend our regular waitresses, Amanda and Kathleen, who consistently provide five-star service with their attentiveness and professionalism. However, the atmosphere at Il Paseno leaves much to be desired. While it's not unpleasant, it lacks the charm and ambiance that one might expect from a great italian and pizza establishment. It's functional but doesn't contribute much to the overall dining experience. But what truly disappointed me was the inconsistency in their hours of operation. Just the other night, my companions and I made plans to dine at Il Paseno, specifically choosing it based on its posted closing time. However, upon arrival, we were informed that the kitchen was closing an hour earlier than advertised and that they were only offering pick-up orders. This abrupt change left us feeling frustrated and inconvenienced, especially considering we had made plans around their supposed hours of operation. In conclusion, while Il Paseno may have its strengths in terms of food quality and service, its inconsistency in maintaining its posted hours of operation undermines the overall dining experience. It's disheartening to see a restaurant with so much potential fall short in such a fundamental aspect of customer service. As much as I would like to recommend Il Paseno, I must caution potential diners to verify their hours of operation beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Well, my friends, I am here in Suffolk, va. My wife had the gyro, I had the cheesesteak, and my clients had both the salad and spaghetti meal. The salad was brown and had no life. The spaghetti was average. The gyro was good satisfying. The cheesesteak is not philly. To be honest with you, please don't call anything philly unless you are from philly. The one thing I will say is that it's a local establishment, and locals like it. Then...

Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!!! I do not recommend this establishment, due to terrible front of house management. She rude, nasty and shouldn't be allowed to work on customer service. Be sure check your order before leaving the store. It's a good chance your order will be wrong. They do not believe in apologies or taking accountability there. Thank me later!

My first visit, and I wasn't disappointed! Everything was especially good; including the service and the restaurant was clean. Kathleen was our waitress, and because of her wonderful service, we dined in and ordered take out! I am sold on this Sal's Pizza. You have to try their Stromboli and Lasagna; it's the finest!!!

Sals not only has the best Pizza in town but the most friendly, hard-working staff! They are like family to us, every time we go

For starters, the layout of the restaurant is a semi-organized train wreck. A host/hostess stand with no host/hostess. They yell from behind the counter and tell you to sit anywhere.Fifteen minutes later, the least friendly waitress I've ever met takes our drink orders. When I tried to be cheerful and friendly, she stared at me like I'd just insulted her mother. When the drinks came back, my wife's tea tasted like a glass of ice water with a slight splash of lipton. The mozzarella sticks were good. And the marinara sauce was adequate. The veggie calzone? Not so much. My wife and I are NOT vegetarians, vegans, or any other kind of hard-line herbivores. Quite the opposite, we generally have meat of some kind with every meal. However, every once in a while, we enjoy the different flavors of a vegetarian dish. I've had veggie calzones and strombolis at dozens of restaurants. I've cooked hundreds of them in the various restaurants I worked in during my younger years. And this one was, hands down, the worst. The top crust was flat, paper thin, and brittle. The botton crust was nearly burnt, hard as a rock, and couldn't be cut with the steak knives they gave us. And the crust at the folded edge was a soggy wet mess. The top of the thing was drenched in so much garlic butter and grated parmesan cheese you could barely taste the contents. And the cheese inside was nothing I've ever seen before. There was some mozzarella at the outer edge. But in the center and near the folded edge, I don't know WHAT that was. It didn't taste like any cheese I've ever had, and it was the consistency of warm mayonnaise. Like when it gets that semi-clear yellowish color to it. It wasn't mozzarella or ricotta or gorgozola or provolone. We each took three bites. Now, I'm a fat guy. I love food. I even like most bad food. I took three bites. We both put our barely eaten plates on top of the other half of this monstrosity to hide it from view. And we covered the plates with our napkins. Twenty minutes later, we managed to flag down our waitress. Who never once came back to ask how the food was, or to offer drink refills, or to tell us to go to hell. Nothing. It sounded like a threat when she asked if we wanted a box. I said no rather emphatically, and handed her my credit card. I didn't want to discuss it, or argue about it, or even wait for a bill. I just wanted to be anywhere else.In that moment, I knew EXACTLY how The Sugar Hill Gang felt in Rapper's Delight.
