Rooms: Our room207 was not ready for rent because the trash was not emptied, black mold in bathroom walls and shower, toilet not cleaned as well as a filthy and disgusting room in general. We informed staff and showed them pics, their response was someone will get back to us. BS just like other reviews W hy should we pay for this room. Would you? Unacceptable!!!

Dated could see they are in transition. But they should not be allowed to change what they are. Our room was dirty. What’s going on with Hampton Inn so disappointed. The staff were great. Also location was good.

My car broke down forty miles south of Hampton Inn Stony Creek, VA on I-95. I was forced to stay at another Hampton Inn location in Roanoke Rapids, VA. The Stony Creek Hampton Inn hotel manager refused to cancel my reservation and refused to transfer my reservation to the Roanoke Rapids Hampton Inn. I paid $141.72 for the cancelled reservation. The Hilton Honors program and their customer service is worthless. Avoid Hampton Inn Stony Creek, VA.

Do NOT stay here! We stayed here last minute while driving home from vacation.
We were first placed in room 229 which smelled of mold, mildew, and like Petco. We then noticed the floor was completely soaked.
The receptionist was nice and transferred us to room 225 where we noted the following:
-Black mold all over the bathroom ceiling
-Hair on the beds and shower
-Uncleaned stained toilet and shower
-Scuffs and marks all over the walls
-Bodily fluid stains on the bedding
It was absolutely disgusting. We have always stayed at Hampton Inns during our road trips as they’ve been clean and nice but we will definitely think twice now. Save yourself the hassle and stay at the Marriott next door.

we were in room 219 apon arrival the room I noticed an unpleasant smell.upon further investigation i noticed that the toilet was not cleaned properly it had water stains and was dirty around the rim as well as the underside and the seat needed replacing it was in rough shape. the ac unit in the room did not work properly leaving me and my roommate roasting all night.also the walls were dirty with spots.the wifi their is not in eny way secure with out the typical sign-in Paige that all Hamptons have except this one so good luck not being a victim of a hacker.the pool was an outdoor pool and it was absolutely disgusting it was filled with green stuff.the elavator door had dirt all over the track ware the door opens/closes.in addition the other room we had 221 had a wet floor upon arrival with the same disgusting toilet.the party I was with didn’t say anything because they are to nice. But I know that these things need to be known so this place can improve and or be avoided.

So, my family booked this hotel as a place to stay after our 15 hour car ride, just for one night. We travel frequently and have seen our fair share of hotels, but this is by far the most disgusting and nastiest hotel any of us have ever seen. We walked into our room and the first thing that hits you is this very very strong, musty smell, all throughout the room. Upon further inspection, there were stains on the pillows/sheets, stains on the chairs, carpets, and walls, hair in the beds, crumbs everywhere, damp floors and beds, and the mini fridge didn’t event work. Absolutely nastyyy! SECOND OF ALL, we booked this room for 2 adults and 3 children. The hotel had this information and knew there were 5 of us staying. There are typically 2 beds in hotel rooms, so usually we go down and grab a cot or mattress or something for the 5th member of our family but this time, when we went downstairs to make our request, the man at the desk simply told us no and the room we have is what we get, and when we asked if we could possibly have a second room because again, they knew there was 5 of us in advance, they told us no. Something else to add, while we were waiting in line to ask for the accommodation, the lady in front of us had her phone out and was showing the man at the desk pictures of stains and dirt all over her room and beds, and his solution was to just hand her a stack of sheets and make her change them herself!! After all of this, we grabbed our stuff and got out of there after being there for only about an hour! Poor service, and absolutely NASTY rooms!!!!!!
Update: I just want to add to please, please, please do a good check of reviews before staying at hotels. This hotel somehow has 4 stars listed but upon reading reviews it became very clear it is not a 4 star hotel. I advise you to please do a thorough check before staying anywhere for your health and safety!

The rooms smelled musty. We had 3 rooms each one smelled worse than the next. The pool was so green I swear Swamp Thing was living in there.
Rooms: Need to be remodeled and the smell was terrible.

workers didnt know how to answer direct questions. rooms were not clean. the only perk is that its close to food and other hotels. the ongoing renovations have lowered the quality of the experience
Rooms: Rooms were visably not clean or taken care of. loud construction in the building started as early as 9 am.
Walkability: Nearby food was alright

this location at Stony Creek, VA has to be one of the worst staffed and no amenities location i hve ever been at. Was woken up at 3:15 am to noisy mini fridge. told front desk at 7:45 am. Its now 5:30pm and no resolution after speaking to 4 employees including calling down to the front desk. now in gym trying to ride the peleton and temp is set to 77, not towels no water. Your web site is misleading as far as available amenties. Pool is dark green like no tomorrow. I just got a new fridge at 5:40. maintenance said nobody told him until just now about my fridge.
Rooms: fridge was not repalced all day, no ice buckets no urgency
Noteworthy details: not all amenities available, no beverages to purchase, snacks, gym is hot and no towels or water

If I could give this location 0 stars I would. I will never book a room without checking the reviews ever again. You'd think that you'd be okay staying in a Hampton Inn but that obviously is not true. The room was disgusting. The sheets on both beds were stained, and the comforters were yellow. There were stains all over the walls and curtains. The floor had crumbs and stains. The bathroom had black mold and the toilet seat was yellow and peeling.
I took our keys back to the front desk within about 10 minutes of checking in and said we are leaving due to the dirtiness of the room. The front desk clerk said ok.
I got a receipt today that my card was charged! When I called they said the manager had to approve a refund and she didn't.
I'm now on hold with Hamptonn Inn customer service and I will be letting them now about my horrible experience.
This hotel needs to be shut down.

Smells horrible I understand they are currently under construction but once going into the hallway as soon as you get off the elevator DOG PEE SMELL Omgg and you can smell it it the room. Not a comfortable stay .

Will not let me post with 0 stars. Hotel is gross, staff is not helpful (not one). Paris Hilton should stay here. Will be switching to other brands in the future. I heard many other customers complaining about rooms with no solution. Room smellled horrible. Bedding not washed from previous customers. Dirty Bathroom. Towels looked like rags. Random people hanging around front of hotel at all hours of night and day. Hotel should be closed, not renovated.

Dingy. They are remodeling, but working on the outside first. They should have focused on the inside. Cracked shower tile, shower faucet didn't work right, dirty shower curtain, floors are sticky everywhere, elevator is dirty. Breakfast was weak by Hampton Inn standards. No bacon! When we arrived our room had no pillow cases on, and one of the pillows was disgusting. The only thing that added a star was we arrived after midnight and the young man at the desk was helpful, kimd, and apologetic about the housekeeping issue. I wouldn't stay here until a full renovation is complete.
