Ashley does such a lovely job braiding hair and adding dreadlocks. We have tried many places, and she is by far the best we have found! My son’s scalp is very sensitive, but she is very gentle when twisting his dreadlocks and she braids with great care. She always gives good advice on hair care tips, too. Everyone is so nice and friendly; we highly recommend Upscale Avenue!

I'm reading good reviews about Ashley. Never met her in there. So I ended up getting my hair chopped up in the most horrendous way by someone else. The barber did not listen to my explicit instructions (like not touching the bangs). But the barber just did whatever he wanted. He ended up cutting half of what I had left for my bangs that touched my past my nose. Also, the the haircut was uneven. I didn't care about the money. But it was an absolute waste of time and hair. Took me 3 months to regrow it just to get chopped up. Also the fade I got was patchy and ended up getting a bad rash on one part of the hair. I'll show pictures when I get home. I'm never coming back to this place. I'm going to a big international trip in a few days and this chopped up hair just ruined it before I even started the trip.
Update: I added the picture of the trimmer burn. I rubbed it with alcohol because it was getting irritated. I didn’t want it to get infected and that would really ruin my trip to Korea that’s coming up.

I've gone to Ashley for about 2 years for my dreads and I can't think of a single reason why I would go anywhere else. Ashley continuously goes out of her way to work with my availability and make the scheduling process as easy as possible. As a hairstylist, she ensures to communicate not only what approaches she will take to get my hair needs done the way I need/like, but also gives insight on what to do when I get home so that my hair is always kept healthy and looking great. I definitely recommend going to Ashley, as her work on my hair is always consistent!

I've been coming here for a decade and have never walked away disappointed. If you need your dreds done there is no better hairstylist then Ashley! My hair did not start regrowing until I got to her. I'm literally scared to go anywhere else because I don't believe they'll do half the job she does!!! And I'm saying this after being severly dissapointed with several other hairstylists.
Between her and my barber Ben you can't go wrong! He has like a 4 to 5 step process to his haircuts, it's impressive. He's also hygenic which is huge!!! I have sensitive skin and I haven't once walked away with bumps.
In summary lol, I highly recommend this place. They have a friendly staff and a really dope vibe.
