These guys are awesome and super knowledgeable about the entire car community. Best of all nice and happy to talk about all kinds of helpful stuff. This is the only place I'll take my car in the future. They helped troubleshoot all the annoying stuff I couldn't figure out and get my car ready for the track on short notice.

Universally modified is very communicative and great to work with. I took in my GT350 and GTR for regular maintenance and tire replacement. I asked for specific tires, size, and brand and they quickly ordered and accommodated. I added in the GTR for an oil change last minute and they were able to help, even with having to spend extra time getting the car on the lift because of low clearance. I look forward to going back!

Brought in my first gen Cummins for some new tires and they did an amazing job and they are very easy to work with. I would highly recommend going there for anything you need done!!!

I asked to put headers on my car. Not a tough job. I took a while to get the headers in. They stayed on it. Once they arrived, headers were installed expertly. Including the modification required. The whole team was great. Ryan is a very knowable young man. Showed me the entire processes from beginning to end. There prices are just at industry standard. I will return. Keep this place in mind when you need your car worked on. They are becoming rather popular.

Amazing experience here! Came in for just an oil change on my Heads/Cam C7 Corvette and will no longer be going anywhere else. You can just tell the employees are passionate about what they do and are honest. I would trust them with anything from maintenance to big builds!Service: Oil change

I never write reviews but UMP deserves one. I had a Tahoe with a cylinder misfire.Troy was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Found a hard to diagnose failing fuel injector. They put in a new cam from Texas Speed, plugs, DOD delete, water pump, and tune.Ryan in the front office was great to work with and made things right when we hit a snag. Super helpful in hunting down hard-to-find parts for my repair.With 124k miles it runs better than new. Definitely recommend these guys.

Just wanted to let everyone know that if you need any work done to your Mustang universally modified performance is the place to go. Ryan is very knowledgeable knows what he’s doing and they have great prices. I brought my 2022 mustang to have headers installed and pretty much the entire bmr suspension catalog. They got the work done in a timely manner and the car drives better than I could have imagined. I’ll definitely be using them for future projects on my Mustang.Services: Steering & suspension repair

I had some brake issues which Troy and Ryan resolved. A follow up adjustment was needed but I was I was out of town and unable to go to the shop. Troy volunteered straightaway to make the adjustment at my house after work!!! I have never had such excellent service before. I brought my 1969 Mustang Mach 1 to UNIVERSALLY MODIFIED in Sterling Virginia. I own several classic vehicles; my previous mechanic no longer lives in the area. So I decided to give UNIVERSALLY MODIFIED a chance to service my vehicle and other(s) moving forward if this experience works out. It wasn't long to find that this shop is extremely overrated and overpriced and THEY CAN'T PROVIDE WHAT WAS PROMISSED! My issue on my 1969 Mustang was the vibration and hesitation on acceleration, I was estimated by Troy initially for $4952.62 of recommended services! I was shocked to see them write this estimate, and to SUM it all up, they wanted to put bigger holly carbs, new starter, and tune up the car. Put in mind that it's a pristine 1969 Mustang Mach 1 which is up for sale for $90K, by no means this car needed anything like this kind of service, I explained how we replaced the Harmonic Balancer and that that didn't change vibration and I left the old Balancer in the car for them to see. After we agreed on the services above, I was promised this vibration and hesitation was going to be eliminated. Upon pick up, the Mustang Road like garbage! I immediately contact Troy explain my concerns, after paying him $3486.23. Troy responded by saying "owe yea we put the old Harmonic Balancer back in the car and vibration a lot less now? He also after my distressed concerns, he actually said that the car "might need a new engine because if that the vibration can be something internal" I was outraged to hear any of this after the FACT! "This was NOT told to me prior pick up or paying for this outrageous invoice. I expected him to warrant his repairs and to correct his mistakes. So I left the vehicle with Troy again for the second time on 5/11/2022 at UNIVERSALLY MODIFIED in Sterling, Troy sent me message afterwards to tell me - HIS WORDS! Hey Sean this is Troy, We actually found the issue. After inspecting the flex plate (trans removal wasn't required), we found that the flex plate and harmonic balancer were actually the 28oz imbalance. Since they were indeed matched, we proceeded with removing the oil pan to look at the crankshaft and discovered that the crankshaft was indeed internally balance and shouldn't have those parts on them. We were able to remove the counter balance on the flex plate and we swapped the balancer with an internally balanced unit and the vibration is gone!!! I also have more great news on the engine internals that are definitely going to boost the price/salability! It's a fully forged bottom end, Ford Performance SVO Block and Hydraulic Roller Cam. That's some big money in the Small block ford world. The engine is probably around 15-18k new" - HIS WORDS! Nothing ever mentioned at one time that he was planning on charging you another $1654.10 to replace the Harmonic Balance AGAIN! $1200 of that was labor! It's a external part on the outside of the engine where pulleys are located! This was the final insult for me, He charged $38 for another oil filter, $20-$30 of gaskets for FORD MUSTANG?? Seriously!?? I pay $12 for PORSCHE high end oil filters, how does FORD cost more?? My conclusion is that this shop LOVES to Surcharge ever nickel and dime that they can from there clients! COMPLETE SCAMMERS! Thank you for reading this you have been warned to STAY FAR AWAY FROM UNIVERSALLY MODIFIED in Sterling VA.

They totally saved my Camaro from a ship that intalled my suoercharger incorrectly and not even tuned. These guys were all over it. They fixed everything tge former shop screwed up an then some. The car I got back was a beast. What it should have been. Now I need to fi d a dyno shop so I can get it dialed in a bit, but I am a perfectionist. They worked with me abd got ecwrything done. GREAT!!!!

I own a 2012 Dodge Challenger SRT8. I added a procharger, headers and exhaust. At time of modification installation the shop that installed it tuned my car, (that shop closed down). Somehow my tune got erased when my cars battery went dead. What ever it was my car was running rough. I called Performance tune shop and spoke to Troy. He assured me, they can tune my car and get it running right. In one day after I turned my car in, they got it tuned and running perfect! I would definitely bring my car back if I decide to do more modifications and I’d highly recommend these guys!! Very professional with a quick turn around time.Services: General repairs & maintenance

I don't normally take the time out to write a review, but UM earned this one. I have know Troy and Ryan for many years, far before they began their shop. I have a number of very close friends that are all connected to the performance automotive industry and are well know in the Northern VA area so finding a reputable shop is seldom an issue. I wanted to give UM a try, test their abilities with this challenging job and they did exceedingly well!l. There are a few minor adjustments required which they are accommodating given the recent weather we have experienced. Both Troy and Ryan go above and beyond and I praise them for the work they have performed and their honesty. I will always recommend them for your automotive needs.

So called this custom shop on Dec 15th and wanted to see if they could do some fabrication on my truck. Nothing serious to them but something way out of my league. The person that answered, never heard of the work I needed. Asked for photos and references send them to the work email and verified they received them. I called the next day to see if they have an estimate or something. One person says it was my other manager that maybe spoke with he said we will call you back didn't get one that was thrusday. Friday tried again nothing, I know holidays are coming up gets busy. Just needed an estimate and if they could do it but taking my business elsewhere.Update they did email me back on this.
