Great climbing gym here in NOVA. The Sterling location has plenty of bouldering walls alongside with Top Rope/Lead and Auto-Belay. The Sterling location isn't as big as some of the other climbing gyms, but it is plenty for a climbing session. I will say, the one issue of this location is that since it's a little small, the bouldering section is a little cramped in spacing compared to their other location in Alexandria. Not a a big problem at all, but can be during peak hours.Their staff here are very nice and friendly as well. Always a good group of people being welcoming to new guests and members. The facility itself is also well kept and clean.

Been a member for a long time now. Best climbing in the area. Great to watch the gym expand over the years while still keeping its original feel. The route variety and setting is top notch, bouldering or top rope. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

I would give this place more stars if I could. My wife and I went here today to do a beginner's class. We had a lot of fun. Everyone was so friendly and kind. The instructors that we worked with were highly knowledgeable, friendly, and they motivated us.We will definitely be coming back here because there is so much to do and so many different challenges to conquer.

The Sportrock gyms are not what they used to be. I stopped coming here when their older staff members left and they began hiring kids who are more interested in looking “cool” and “in charge” than creating a welcoming environment. Bottom line: the staff they have now are condescending, immature and clique-y. I felt so uncomfortable coming back to climb post covid and post injury because there had been a clear shift in the social atmosphere. On top of that, the place is usually over run with children’s groups in the afternoons/evenings, making it impossible to find routes to climb and without kids running in front of your belayer. They really need to consider hiring more mature, welcoming people and put in place some adults only hours on evenings a couple times a week.

One of the staff failed us even though we were doing it their way. He didn't say anything and left without saying anything. Was extremely rude and I could not hear him at all.

I enjoy the top roping section of Sportrock regularly and appreciate the kind staff, but the yoga classes leave something to be desired. Classes are held in a small room with capacity for twelve students and one teacher. But speaking from experience this limit is unrealistic. If the class is full you will be touching other attendees mats or the wall if you’re lucky enough to not be in the middle. You won’t be able to do the full poses which means you won’t get the full benefit of the practice. It’s uncomfortable, especially in a post-Covid-19 world. The climbing is wonderful but it seems Sportrock is trying to squish more students into a tiny room, sacrificing user-comfort for more cash in their pocket.

Molly and her team are very helpful to everyone, especially newcomers. They love to encourage and help you with every step and climb you make.

I had a lot of fun doing the intro to climbing class. The instructor was very friendly and relaxed. The rental equipment was in great condition, the shoes seemed brand new unlike what you’d find at a bowling alley. The location has a good mix of bouldering and top rope. Not the biggest gym but a good size. The crash pads were all soft so falling wasn’t as scary. Bathrooms were clean, some cardio and weight equipment was available as well.

Solid place.. Added in a lot more autobelays. They used to only have one of you can believe it. Staff is great, the courses are challenging and it can be hard to get work in because it gets very busy.Come in the off times if you can and you'll be rewarded.

I found out about this place about 2 months ago and now I’m a member of this gym and I go every other day. If you’re not a member day passes are $20 with shoe and harness rentals being $7 each. A great place to meet new people! Everyone is so friendly!

Good indoor climbing gym in the sterling area. Their facility has a workout room, moonboard, bouldering and top roping facilities. The place can get crowded sometimes during peak hours. The staff is very accommodating and polite. Love it.Their daily passes are okay but equipment rental is ridiculously expensive per visit: 6$ for shoes and 6$ for harness. makes each visit cost around 35$They have kid friendly routes and super beginner walks which is quite uncommon. Good experience for your kids and everyone gets a W. Their autobelays are also strategically placed but they just have two.The bouldering area is quite small though and I personally felt the route setting is all over the place. Would prefer the grades to be a bit more consistent

I was visiting from out of town, and I bouldered twice here. The routes were pretty fun, and the place is clean. There aren’t too many routes for bouldering alone, but there are a good number of roped climbs too, although you’ll need a belay partner for most of them. If I come back to the area with a friend who can belay, I’ll definitely try those climbs out next time.

Friendly staff, nice ambiance, and good prices! Was there on a guest pass, and felt very welcome. Seemed like a good place to learn to climb and would consider returning if I lived in the area.
