Clean and usually well stocked with nice workers... all in all a great Sam's and always great deals on gas (the discount on gas alone pays for our membership fees every year). I really like the Scan & Go option that Sam's added a couple of years ago and LOVE the benefit of free shipping to home on most items if you are a plus member - we even use it to ship things to elderly relatives who live far away and lifting heavy boxes in and out of cars is a challenge. So, all of this good and yet I'm deducting a star? Here's why: There are some standard, every day grocery items that they frequently fail to have in stock or have in stock intermittently. It has happened often enough that I was debating cancelling our membership... but, again, the great gas prices! Fortunately, there is a Wal-Mart next door and so we just pop over there to pick up the odds and ends.

The pharmacist, Chris, at the Dulles location is very unprofessional and rude. This is a shame since generally Sam's has very good pharmacists. Steer clear of this location.

I had received poor service at Sam club. I had a very long wait time in the food court line. All I ordered was a whole pizza and once it was my turn. The cashier told me that I would have to wait 2 hours or more to purchase my pizza. I bought a sundae and was very warm. It wasn’t frozen at all.

They routinely run out of products; they carry certain products for a couple of months, then stop carrying them, only to start again a couple of months later; their checkout lines are usually long but not as long as the lines for the one employee checking receipts as people leave the store; managers don't seem to care about concerns you voice to them; on more than one occasion I've started loading items on the checkout conveyor after waiting in line for several minutes, only to have the cashier tell me, "Oh, this line is closed." Most employees I've dealt with aren't helpful, and some seem clueless.

I have a problem walking (even with support.) I only needed 3 items so I decided to make a pick up order. I never got a confirmation that my order was ready, but I still went to the store at my designated time. In the pickup parking space, I tried to sign into my Sams Club app, it insisted on sending a code to my old home (landline) phone or to my secondary email (that I don't use on my cell phone.) Either way I could NOT reach the code to get into the app. There was no alternative given on the pick up sign, so I called the store. NO ONE answered. I let it ring until it timed out (about 45 rings.) I tried to log into the app again. It still wanted a 4 digit code. I called twice more, each time letting the phone ring until it timed out. By this point, I was in the parking space for over 20 minutes. I got out of my car, hobbled to the front door and was stopped by the gate keeper. She didn't apologize for the problem, said "Be happy. God wanted you to walk," instead. But, she did get me in touch with the guy who does the pick up orders, and he apologized for the problems. He also told me that other customers have complained that no one answers the customer service line. When I suggested that they needed an option to send a call directly to order pickup, he seemed genuinely surprised that there was no such option. I have used grocery pick up at at least three other local stores. All of them work seamlessly (Harris Teeter, Wegmans and Food Lion.) Even Walmart (next door to Sams) has better pickup service.

Well, my visit was a very bad experience because the lady who was handing out example yelled at my daughters and she was crying and everyone was watching. The lady had no reason to shout like that.I spoke to the manager and she told me that department is not theirs.

Went to get gas. There was a truck in front of me filling up. Cones were on the side of the pump. When the truck in front of me left the screen in the pump was not functioning. A sams club employee came up to me and asked me if I could see. I said “excuse me?” Then he moved the cones in-front of the pump to inform other customers. If that is the way your employees speak to customers I will be cancelling my membership and going to Costco or BJ’s. This place is ridiculous .

Sam’s is my go to place for the great roasted chickens @4.99 flavor and size beats all the rest hands down. It’s a given I go in for a bird and leave spending $75 -$100 as there’s always other great buys had.An observation over this past year or so with store remodeling/updates/renovations in the name of expediency I guess and cost saving on labor. the do it yourself trends are not always the best from a customer service perspective.Customer service aside and profits up maybe.I really dislike the removal of the flashing light when you require assistance or age verification especially. you are left looking around for a floor Mgr if you can find one, hope to make eye contact and flag one down. The responsibility should not be forced to the customer to ask for help. The Mgr should be visible and come to you . Be present, visible and aware of the front area.Bring back the flashing light !Appreciate your loyal customer base.Don’t make us have to work to spend our $ in your store.

This place has really gone downhill. Has become very dirty and disorganized Impossible to find anyone to help you. They used to have a few cute clothes, now nothing even wearable. Also the clientele has become very trashy. Kids running around like a playground and everyone yelling. It's a zoo. I limit my trips now and try to shop elsewhere.

Go to Costco. Member Services desk doesn't even know how their own app works. First, he grabbed my phone out of my hand without asking, which I wasn't comfortable with, and he tried to tell me my return item wasn't on my card; I had to show him where it was. He tried to argue with me about it, and I was right. I had to get a refund for the cafe too because their ice cream machine is never working. He tried to argue with me about that, too. He was wrong again. It is disappointment after disappointment at this place.

I was visiting the area and needed to have a prescription transferred and filled. I called and spoke with a female who stated the prescription was not available in the pharmacy, but they expected it to be available in two days and I would be contacted when it was available. When three days had passed, I became concerned as to why I had not heard back from anyone. So, I called. I was told not only had they received the medication, but it was available two days ago. I was livid. I asked why I had not been contacted with this information. The female stated she did not know. She checked to ensure my telephone number was what they had on record. It was. Once again, she stated she did not know why I had not been contacted. When I arrived at the pharmacy, the female behind the counter had her name tag turned backward so her name could not be seen. She admitted they were short-handed on certain days. However, better diligence is due at any time but especially when one works in a pharmacy. This person should not be working at the pharmacy because her name tag being turned backward is an admission of her guilt. I intentionally walked around the warehouse and passed by the pharmacy window 30 minutes after I received my medication, and she still had her name tag turned backward.

My son came to visit on Father’s Day and cook me a spectacular meal. A great place to start is the Meat Department at Sam’s. They had lots of beautiful steaks as usual but he wanted them cut special. Luckily, Kossi was working and after a brief discussion with my son, cut up two of the most beautiful 2” prime Ribeyes you have ever seen. That’s the way he is. I go to Sam’s frequently because it’s so easy to shop there. I NEVER have a line because I use their Scan and Go app. In the Meat Department Kossi or one of his folks are always willing to offer suggestions and guidance. That makes for a great shopping trip.

This is just a sam’s club in general review. I got a membership and found that I was not happy, so I canceled it months ago. After everything was confirmed, I just forgot about Sam’s club till they charged me again for a canceled membership. After 20 minutes of being on the phone with them. They said that I never canceled it, even though I spent about 30 minutes talking to a guy before to cancel the membership. Finally a different guy said he took care of it, even though I was unnecessarily rude to him.Just beware getting a membership with them. If you cancel it, you might need to do it a few times and sit on forever hold to get a refund.
