Been going here for over 1.5 years
Classes are great. One machine kept breaking and they were repeatedly repairing and it took a while for replacement. At least they replaced!! Other than that, this is a solid gym.
Now, there are huge, huge issues with people sitting on machines for an unreasonably long time while on their cell phones, and not offering to rotate.
There should be a policy for this...something like: You can use your cell phone, however, you need to let the next person in line work out on your "breaks"One member was so rude about her disrespectful behavior. I still give it a 5 however, give me another month of this and I might drop to a 4 or lower.

At first impression the place is spacious and quite clean. However,
1. They do not let you cancel your membership without first paying the following month's monthly payment and in addition to that another 3 months of penalties, unless you prove that you are moving more than 25 miles from the gym. (They are not honest because before I registering I asked about the cancellation policy and they did not mention additional charges.)
2. They close very early on weekends.

They are much better at maintaining the equipment than their predecessor, Gold’s Gym. They sometime run out of towels.

Lots of equipment and friendly staff. Clean facility and able to do my workouts efficiently. Most of the complaints are from privileged soft people who don’t understand how gyms work especially with the guest pass policy. I’ve brought in guest who were able to use the gym with no problems. $40 a month is a STEAL. Only complaint is I wish the hours were longer on weekdays and weekends.
Would recommend this gym to anyone!

I want to give a shout out to the General Manager of my One Life gym in Sterling, VA Greg Custard. He has been extremely helpful to me on several occasions - has helped make my attempts to be a bit more healthy easier. He does an amazing job running this gym, and has some of the nicest support staff around.
Even though it means it will be a bit busier, I would highly recommend joining this gym. I have been a member for years!

I have never joined a fitness club. I have always thought that owning equipment is the better deal. My son wanted to join a fitness club because he loves working out. He told me that Onelife was only $39 a month and I couldn't believe that was true.
My wife was paying $170 a month to go to a Pilates class. There were many times she showed up and the class was full. For $39 a month, she now could take Pilates or try out other classes. She turned out to really like the water aerobics.
I am not yet ready to try out classes or try all of the machines. I have been going quite often and using the cardio machines. I have noticed a difference. Doing the math, I could be a member for three years for the price of most quality exercise equipment.

Manager and front desk personnel rude and racist. I am so disappointed at the unprofessional behavior at this location. Made us wait more than 30min for a free day pass for a friend and manager did not even come to talk to us.

Facility is huge and has most of the extras I enjoy: pool for swim days, hydro massage beds, and lots of natural light throughout.
I would give five stars if they provided plastic bags for your damp clothes and if this location was closer to me. Visiting Sterling is a hike and I don’t need to be in the area often.
I came on a Saturday morning when the Tysons gym was so packed that getting anything done on the gym floor AND the pool was insufferable.

I never thought I'd resort to leaving a Google review, but after the horrendous experience I had, it's the least I can do. This place desperately needs a new manager. Picture this: I bring my friend, a new mom who had a 4 month old baby and never had a chance to exercise, as a guest. She only has her passport, no local ID. The manager bluntly refuses to set up a guest pass because, apparently, passports are persona non grata. To add insult to injury, he’s told the only way to proceed is to cough up $25 for a day pass or shell out $50 for a membership. We're left bewildered, questioning why a paid entry doesn't need a local ID, but a free trial demands one.
Throughout the ordeal, this manager Mr ‘M’ , he's not just rude; he's practically a caricature of ridiculousness. When we attempt to escalate the issue by asking for another manager, he accuses us of insulting him and boldly declares he's the lone ruler of the kingdom – no one else to talk to but him. Finally, he gives us the boot, nonchalantly saying, "I don't want to waste your time, just leave." Unbelievable.
Following that debacle, we reached out to the Tyson and Rockville locations, and guess what? They both accept passports. So, we embarked on a 40-minute drive to the alternative spot. There, finally, my friend managed to do her trial and breathe a sigh of relief.
To the 'M' manager in Sterling – you truly suck. Your actions are not just a loss to the company but an insult to the brand.

Best gym in Virginia. Friendliest and very helpful people. I was always afraid to join gyms but this place is so nice I go every day now.

The staff was nice and the facility was clean. Good location. The facility appears to be cramped by all of the equipment. Can be pricey, I don't want to say that you're nickel and dimed, but to charge $125 to show children how to use equipment, that itself should be included in your membership cost as you are not a cheap health club.

I’ve had a good experience with Greg and Jonathan. Greg helped make signing easy and quick. Jonathan is a talented and knowledgeable trainer who listens to what you want to achieve, and really makes you feel heard. He is patient, and takes the time to explain the workouts and any modifications you could need. He also has a positive outlook and is good at motivating you to reach your goals.
