I contacted Lys beauty supply/saloon to convey my discontent with the the service and conveyed that I was in pain with a severe headache from the braids being too tight in parts of my head, also that the crotchet braids were not secured as they were falling out all over the place without manipulation, starting the moment I got home from the saloon, and embarrassingly in public! To the point I just took them all out myself. I was under the impression that because I suffer from thinning hair already that they would be considerate of my situation and work with me as the so called professionals they are to give me a style that would last more than a couple of days. Or let me know if what I was asking to be done would not be good for my hair type. But unfortunately No. None of my complaints were heeded. Instead of assuming responsibility and seeking a resolution, the owner engaged in arguments over the phone with me, a returning customer who had paid in full for the services. I was instructed to come back at THEIR convenience and to NOT take out the cornrows so that they could FIX IT, the owner said POUR WATER ON IT to help the pain I was in. They even expressed disappointment that I removed the improperly placed crotchet braids. More than half had already fell out on my pillow as I was laying down with that headache. When I called it was news to me as the owner said they had never used the type of braids I brought in and how the owner had already expressed to the braider that it looked loose, ( I never heard that conversation because they constantly talk to each other in their own native language when clearly they know I’m looking right at them but have no clue what they are discussing).I think the time to communicate that was when I showed them the hair I wanted to use for the style. They happily took my full payment no comments to me that she thought my braids were too loose but that it actually was not enough hair and if I got more I could bring it in to add. I honestly could go on and on. I don’t like to write complaints it was hard for me to write this one. I asked for a refund as I could not come back in their time frame and they were booked for the entire weekend. I would have been satisfied with even a partial refund but NO the owner continued with accusations. This lack of accountability and unprofessional behavior is unacceptable. The owner should seriously reassess her business practices. I personally know several salon owners who are willing to go above and beyond for their clients. I do not recommend spending your money at this establishment. I have no intention of returning to this salon in the future.I hope no one has to go through the disappointment I did. I already deal with thinning hair and other forms of discrimination. I never expected to be taken advantage of by a fellow small black owned, woman owned business.

I recently visited Lys Beauty to get Bohemian braids and I couldn't be happier with the results!! The staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the salon to anyone looking for professional and top-notch hairbraiding services. I'll definitely be returning.

It is a secret, because it's hard to find if you are not familiar with the shopping center. But the owner was so friendly and helpful. I didn't end up buying anything that day because she didn't have exactly what I needed, but she was super helpful, and I will definitely return!

I’ve been to this shop a few times for the last few years and every time I come, what I ask for is exactly what I get. I especially love that the braiders aren’t too firm while braiding as I’m tender-headed.

The braider was really nice. Nice customer service here. I purchased human hair bundles and got my hair done three days before my trip. I moisturized and platted the hair up and kept it wrapped for those next three days and the night before going on my trip, I combed through the hair, however, two hours later, the hair kept matting. Through my entire vacation, the hair matted, shedded, and kept drying despite moisturizing and detangling it. This is the hair 1 week after getting it done. I had to cut it off because the matting was atrocious. There wasn’t much human hair bundle options to choose from. I spent $165 on two bundles, money down the drain

I love the idea of beauty store in the front and salon in the back! It's Black Woman Owned too! They've done my cornrows on 2 different occasions and I love them! Price is great, store is clean, and music selection is on point! Definitely recommend them!
