The worst service. Everyone reviewed that they are the worst. So I did the booking and did a call confirmation. They also gave the confirmation number. But when I reached here. He is like he doesn't have any car. Worst customer service and worst attitude.

DID NOT PROVIDE A CAR | HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
When I book/pay for a car rental through Expedia and Hertz, that is a three way agreement. If I messed up, Hertz and Expedia would both have the opportunity to get money from me. Instead, this was the response:
Expedia: 'Sorry. But it's not our problem'.
Hertz: 'Sorry for the inconvenience, but we'll return the fee we charged you'. (Return the fee for the car you did not provide??)
The situation:
Hertz allowed a booking at a location that was closed. I wasted hours of my time going to and returning to that location. I spent $50-$60 in Uber fees going to and returning from that location.
I called the manager - from the Hertz desk at this location - and never got a return call. **Not to this day! I emailed the site supervisor and never got a reply. I submitted scathing reviews to the many "Tell us how we did" emails - both Expedia and Hertz. Neither had the common decency to call and apologize.
Because it was a weekend, and all places close between 12-2pm, I could not rent another vehicle. I was forced to drive my gas-guzzling truck 24 hours (12 hours there and back) which was a worst case scenario. I was forced to spend hundreds of dollars in unexpected fuel, because of the Expedia-Hertz error. I was forced to put almost 2,000 miles on a truck I am purposefully limiting miles for resale. I was forced to suffer the indignity of a company that is so tone deaf they advise they "WON'T CHARGE ME" for an error that is 100% theirs. Corporations should not be allowed to abuse their customers and then "solve" problems with a wave of their hand and the stereotypical "Sorry for the inconvenience that this caused". If I performed this poorly - in any position I have ever held - I would have been fired immediately. At a minimum, Hertz needs to refund my Uber fees (+) provide me with a free future rental at their expense.
** Preferably at a location that is open for business.
DEAR HERTZ - THE CONTACT OPTION YOU SENT DOES NOT WORK. ANY OTHER OPTIONS? HOW ABOUT PICK UP THE PHONE? (I REALIZE THEY ARE ANTIQUATED DEVICES, BUT THEY STILL WORK)

This place is the worst I have ever seen! The manager Marcus called me on 7/9/2024 to confirm a reservation and confirmed that someone will pick me up from NOVA Automotive in Sterling at 1:30pm on 7/11/2024. No one showed up! I called this Hertz location at 1:15pm on 7/11 to confirm someone was coming but no one answered the phone. When I called Hertz corporate, they also said that no one is answering the phone and that they escalated the situation.
I called numerous times and finally, NOVA Automotive' s manager was kind enough to drop me off at this Hertz location. No one was in the office. They had 100 missed calls showing on the phone display. When I walked out to the back of the building at around 2pm, I found the manager Marcus and two other employees chilling outside. As soon as I called them, all 3 of them came into the office denying the reservation. I said that's impossible because Hertz corporate confirmed the reservation. Few minutes later they "found" me in the system and instead of apologizing, Marcus charged me for not calling at 1pm to confirm the pick up. I seriously think he was on some drugs or something because he was shaking while speaking with me. I was afraid he was going to attack me next so I got the rental car keys and left as soon as I could. I am now trying to lodge an official complaint with Hertz Corporate but have been put on hold since the last 40 minutes.
I wish I had read the reviews before choosing this place to rent a car. This will be the last time I deal with Hertz! I was told that Hertz customer service was terrible but this is the first time I'm actually experiencing it first hand!

Difficult to find location. Does not answer their phone. Unhelpful, unknowledgable staff. Does not honor reservations.

Phenomenal! Great customer service, communicated clearly and listened. I waited for a small time and was helped extremely! The gentleman, his name is Marcus, actually listens to you and fixes any discrepancies if needed. He answered all my questions with a smile and resolved my problem, and i left with a car. ??

Made an online reservation and prepaid. As I pulled up to Hertz in an Uber, I received a call saying they couldn’t honor my reservation. I was told I needed to call the customer service number to get a refund and was provided no help on finding a vehicle at an alternative location. This error by hertz cost me $50 in Uber fair, as I arrived and then needed to depart careless. Very unprofessional and a lifetime customer has been lost due to this.

Booked a car a month in advance. The day I was suppose to pick up the rental I got a voice-mail at 6 am from an employee stating that the car wouldn't be available for pick up because 'the fleet is tight'. Although that's not great, that's not the reason for my one star review, as I have heard of this happening at smaller rental locations.
I tried calling back several times to ask basic questions like: is there a larger size I can up upgrade to? Or will a car be guaranteed to be available the next day? No response, I called nearly a dozen times and even had the general Hertz operator dial 5 with me once I explained the situation to make sure I was doing the right steps to attempt to reach the store.
I decided to just go there to find out, though this was quite inconvenient because I only had a one way ride from my friend and would need to lyft back on my own if I didn't pick up a car. When I got there, I met with an employee who gave me a lot of attitude and when I said I kept trying to call to find out information, it was pretty clear from his reaction that he purposefully didn't pick up my calls. If he just picked up and answered 'no, we have no vehicles left of any kind, and no we may not have a car for you tomorrow either' that would have saved me (and my friend who gave me a ride) a ton of time.
Needless to say I didn't rent a car from this particular Hertz location and I will never go back. I am not regularly in this area, but it seems like a pretty well known rule among locals to use the Hertz at the airport which is pretty close by. This is what I ended up doing and it worked out much better.

If you’re looking to have your trip inconvenienced you have come to the right place. These folks are not corporate, they are franchises and you lose all protection of renting at a corporate location. Made a reservation only to have them call and say we don’t have your car and we transferred your location to the airport only to be told at their airport that they didn’t. When I called them back they wouldn’t return calls. Don’t rent from them.

Showed up for a truck reservation that was confirmed via email and phone just to find out from the associate that they haven't had trucks at this location for over 2 years. The closest truck was 150 miles away. The associate couldn't do anything about it. Hertz sucks as a company. Not sure how they are still in business.

Just as the others have stated and I learned too late. Do not rent from Hertz. EVER. I arrived at 12:30 for my rental and the agent is saying they only have an EV or I have to wait four plus hours-best case- for another rental to be turned. Hertz (and Dollar and Thrifty) are the worst. THE WORST. do not rent from them.

The guy who's normally behind the counter is helpful and friendly. I've been here a couple of times since they work with my car dealership to provide loaners during repair work. Consistently good and reliable customer service and a convenient location.
