I placed a call to this store tonight (In Sterling, VA) after speaking with Costco.com to seek advice on how to return a home delivery item. That is where it all went downhill just by speaking with a young lady who works in administration at this Sterling location. Since I had already done research to determine if the item I needed to return for being defective was eligible and it is. Costco over the phone told me it is returnable as well just to double check with my local store and make sure this is an item they personally accept back or if I need to return online. From the moment the lady got on the phone, I was asked about 10 questions, all about what i was returning, why (in detail), etc. When I told her the item was defective she did not understand what that meant apparently and kept asking me to repeat myself over and over. Then she told me that's "not a reason to return something and they will not be taking it"! (a mattress that we paid over $1,000 for mind you! She proceeded to continue being extremely rude and arguing with me even though Costco has a very clear policy on returns! I told her I would no longer take her abuse and would call back tomorrow to speak with the store manager. Staff here needs better training on their own company!

I am a loyal Costco fan and have been since at least early 2000 or before. (originally started with Price Club in Fairfax VA) I've purchased all types of products including their vacations, checks, tires, jewelry etc. I moved to Northeastern PA a few years ago so don't go as frequently as the closest store is over an hour away. To the point, I was returning from a trip to Culpeper VA and deviated from the closest route to go to Costco on my way home. I went to the Sterling store. I purchased approximately $500 of merchandise which is not atypical for me. One of the items, a Ninja Foodi multicooker. Upon opening the item, it seems as if it was a used product that someone returned. (food inside and missing a part that should have been included). I called Costco speaking with Emelie who was very nice, took my information and said that she'd have a manager call. After a little time, she (Emelie) called back and said she'd spoken to Eric, the manager on duty, (obviously he was not inclined to call) who understood my situation and if I'd bring the product back to Sterling (only about 280 miles from me) he'd issue a refund. I confirmed with Emelie that he knew I was calling from PA and she indicated he knew. Shame on the jerk that probably told Costco that the product was new and unused which is probably why it was back on the shelf. Shame on Eric for not picking up the call and speaking to me directly. Very disappointed, unlikely to return to the Sterling Costco.

Costco may be jammed pack for the Holiday season but occasionally you see a great find and today was Godiva chocolates for a box just over $12. Now that is a steal. The limit is 10 and guess how many I bought?

I have been a Costco member for over 30 years, and lately I've noticed that each visit is less productive and more unpleasant. My most recent trip was for just three items, a coffee maker in the fifty/sixty dollar range, a box of Swiffer dusters (regular) and coffee. I struck out on the first two, but brought the coffee to the self-checkout. While on line, an employee was demanding that everyone on line get their cards out immediately. I didn't comply right away, and the woman came up to me, rudely demanding to see my Costco card. I opened my wallet and showed it to her and she further demanded that I take it out of my wallet. I decided that I didn't wish to be bossed about anymore, since I don't actually work there, and could easily buy my coffee at someplace that better appreciates my business. I get that they are concerned about people using other people's cards, but I'm not one of those people and I don't appreciate being ordered around and treated like a cheat, especially after such an unrewarding shopping experience. I won't be renewing my membership.

I asked my friends to get me a few things from this Costco as I have Covid. The store wouldn't let them use my card. They were more interested in pushing a membership than calling me to verify I am sick and asked them to get me things. It's sad when a business shows they value making money more than helping people do the right thing and not spread a virus. All they had to do was call to verify my membership but they refused. They lost my membership. When you try to call nobody picks up. My understanding is Edith is the manager's name that refused. Poor customer service.

I went there yesterday around 7:30 pm to pick up a pizza for dinner. I was on my phone walking in and accidentally walked into the exit instead of the entrance on the other side.. immediately the door receipt people started yelling at me at the top of their lungs like I had stolen a prized Jewl. I continued to walk in because I was not waisting my time being yelled at as if I were a child. I went to pay for my pizza and as I was paying I noticed someone like a Paul blart mall cop on a power trip with a walkie talkie hovering over me he began yelling at me in front of the whole store. Like guy I walked in the entrance it's not the end of the world! I was embarrassed the dude was an African American with piercing looking like he wanted to set off a metal detector for fun. He then complained to his manager I believe and she simply ignored it as it was a non issue. I get it working at Costco might be boring.. but screaming and yelling at a customer and sending your goons for accidentally walking into the entrance is not the way. If you walk into the entrance you have to walk around the entire store just to grab a pizza and you have to cut in front of people in line to check out. Simple make a food court line in the entrance and this all goes away. I was humiliated and embarrassed by your staff and this is not how anyone should be treated. Thank you.

FOR COSTCO GAS - Sitting in the gas line. They shut two lanes. Of course the lane I am in. They divert the two closed lane lines to ONE PUMP and allow people who just pulled in ahead of those who have already waited. Extremely frustrating to be waiting over 30 minutes for gas while everyone else blows by. Not to mention I did not notice they were out of regular. So a total waste of my time.

I guess Costco is so popular that their employees forget they are the one serving customers. Recently I constantly see Costco male staff yelling to customers or being rude to customers like they are the king of Costco. If these guys have anger management problem or bring arrogance to their work, maybe they should change job.

Erick (manager)was amazing! He was able to resolve my issue within minutes that I have been dealing with for months. Purchased a tv and was waiting on my shop card to be issued via mail.Never received it. I Inquired about it several times at diff locations and was getting the run around. He took the time to dig further to see what the issue was and was able to resolve it! Thank you Erick!

Costco as a company is great. Employees pretty good. However this place is painfully crowded and they don't have French fries at the food court anymore

My often go to Costco, it's just like every other Costco mixed with some local perks. Here you will find what most Costco's have to offer, such as your rotisserie chicken, your food court and plenty of close options. However, what differs in this Costco is the local businesses that they present such as Aslin brewery solstice brewery and some Virginia coffee roasters . I have found that I am able to find everything that I need from this Costco with reasonable prices. Some of the downsides to this Costco is that it's always busy so finding parking is a hassle. I often have to park all the way in the back and even then I'm fighting with somebody to get that spot. The entrance is near the gas station entrance so it is congested often if you don't go at the right time getting gas can take up to 10 minutes, I have found the best times are, opening to noon, and near closing. I don't really interact with the staff since I use the self checkout option however, the staff has been helpful when I am looking for something particular. The ambience is just like any other Costco very busy. Lots of people walking around and shopping. The store is kept clean and well lit and I have never felt like I wasn't able to complete my purchases. it's a good local store and as far as Costco stores go, it meets my expectations.

The store, products and service are on par. I'm subtracting one star for their parking lots which are a total cluster****. Watch out when walking or driving around the blind corners. Look out for cars speeding through the lot . This location is pretty much in the middle of an intersection so proceed with caution. Other than that it's my go to Costco.
