Greg has been cutting our son’s hair since he was 7 months old (his hair grows so fast!). He is so gentle and kind with a wiggly baby. Really appreciate the quality of the cut and the price too! What a talented and gracious guy!

Greg did a great job giving our son his first haircut. So gentle, patient, and skilled. Not one tear, though Dad did get scared a few times. I don’t share photos of my kid on public websites, but the haircut looks great too.Mine next!

Greg is a fantastic stylist, barber, and counselor, all rolled into one! He's not only been reliable when it comes to getting a great haircut, he's also be steadfast in his support during one of the worst times of life, I don't know that there's a price tag for that, especially when we only met because I randomly called to get a haircut one day.

The old Bristles & Shears location has closed since my first review (unfortunately due to the situation with the building rather than anything to do with the business itself) - but Greg and the rest of the stylists are still around at the Salons by JC location in Sterling! Greg is an excellent hair stylist and barber. I have always been extremely satisfied with my men's haircut. I highly recommend going to Greg if you're looking for a new person to cut your hair!

I used to go here a decade ago and loved it. Went in Dec 2016 while on vacation in the area, and found it under new management. The previous owner passed away and the salon was closed for a year after a weird buyout from foreign investors... But now, it was bought by a former employee under the original manager and this man has brought back all the charm and more! This is THE salon of sterling. A staple in the community and the best stylists I've ever seen on the east coast. I had a men's cut (since I'm a man, of course) and my significant other had her hair done as well. We've never looked better in our lives! You could've mistaken us for Golden globe nominees. If I could afford to fly here every 3 weeks for a cut and style, I would. Solely for this amazing establishment. You can't find a more fair-priced, warm staff, and up-to-date salon in the DC area. A must-go.
