Me and my husband have bought 2 vehicles now from Dave Woods and i HIGHLY recommend him as your car guy. He’s very smart and gives you nothing but honesty. Unlike every other dealership around, Dave is NOT money hungry. Me and my husband were trading in a 2020 Nissan Rouge for a 2024 Rav4 Hybrid. Dave really made us sit down and talk every inch of information over (including financial) before proceeding and was still trying to get us to take more time to think things through because money can be tight these days. He was more worried about us than he was making a quick buck of a sale. We will forever recommend Dave!!

I saw a car listed on they're website that I was interested in. I went there on Wednesday and It took me an hour to get to the dealership. Only to find out that they sold the car Monday. When I asked one of the sales people why it was still listed on they're website, he said it shouldn't be and tried to sell me another car (which is bait and switch). After he tried to pull that illegal stunt, I turned around and walked right out. It's currently Friday and the car is still listed 4 days after they said it sold.

I ended up making an appointment for my airbag light to be checked out per the recall notice only to have them take it in for a few minutes to not fix the issue.
I went back to my car for the airbag light to still be on and when I went in to ask about it was told if it was on before I came in it wasn't their problem.
Today I had another shop look at it and it was a defective wire in the door (part of the recall....) and they fixed it for me.
Toyota in Staunton wanted to charge me $125/hr to diagnose it even tho it was clearly the recall, then rushed me out the door.
Edit: since I cannot reply to the owners reply, I set an appointment more than a year ago that you have no record of, makes sense why no one took the time to actually fix anything or look at the recall notice.
I brought my 2010 Toyota venza in for the airbag light issue and after "checking" it out was dismissed with customer service saying "was it on before you came in?" After answering yes I was promptly dismissed with them telling me it was not their problem.
I went to another shop yesterday to have it looked at and the technician promptly found the issue in minutes.
Edit 2:
There was a break in the wire, another technician at another shop found the break in the wire, fixed the break in the wire and now the airbag light is off.
I refused diagnostics because I was going to get charged for it even though it was part of the recall.
I appreciate you editing your response saying that you did find my appointment but the only thing I refused was diagnostics because I did not want to be charged for something that was part of a recall.

I had a great experience with salesman Dave Woods, and finance manager Helen Shibit. I would highly recommend, very smooth vehicle purchase.

My wife and I bought a vehicle from McDonough Toyota during Covid. I should have backed out then as after driving 3 hours to get the vehicle, we couldn’t come into the store because we didn’t have mask on. We had to stand outside in the cold while we waited for the documents. Fast forward to a couple years later, we find out our vehicle is worth 10-12k less on trade in because Toyota has a recall on the vehicle that they can’t fix. The GM would not work with us and could care less that he sold us a vehicle that is a dud do to an issue that can’t be fixed. We even bought a 7 year, 100k bumper to bumper + electronic warranty through McDonough that is useless when Toyota has no idea how to fix the vehicle. I highly recommend not buying your next vehicle from McDonough Toyota, unless you want to work with a dealership that says too bad when you have a major issue.

I highly recommend anyone searching for a Toyota to see Chris Lint at McDonough Toyota in Staunton. He is amazing to work with. I told him exactly what I wanted so, we sat down at his computer and "built" my SUV.
Chris is extremely knowledgeable and tries to get you the best deal for your money. I love my new SUV!

I can whole heartedly say that I don't encounter service this incredible very often at all. I was traveling from NY to NC with a motorcycle and two cats in tow when a notification appeared telling me to check the hybrid system, stop in a safe place immediately and contact a dealer. I called Triple A for a tow and they could not help me. I called 3 Toyota dealers and they couldn't either. A mechanic from an independent shop told me that I hadn't called all Toyotas and told me to check McDonough. I called and explained my situation and they said that they could take care of me if I could get there. I wasnt sure I would make of but as I drove into the lot, Blaire met me and began right away telling me what they planned to do to help me. I dropped the trailer in the lot. Since my cats were not in carriers I left my car running at the service window which they kept an eye on while their shuttle driver took me to buy carriers for the cats to wait in. I waited in the lobby for about 30 mins and another staff member gave me a diagnosis from the mechanic. About an hour or so later, the repairs were made, reasonably priced and I was out of the door. I was relieved and blown away by the service and care provided. I wish I could only use this dealership going forward. This was an experience that reminded me of the things that are right with today's world.

I had a very good experience with the purchase of my new car with Mr. Gerald, I think that's his name, even though I don't speak English, everything was super easy and fast. I thank him very much for his patience and understanding. I recommend them 100%.

I have a Tundra and a RAV4. I have always had excellent customer service and maintenance performed by them for my vehicles. The only down side is the while waiting on the service to be completed at this location. It does not seem welcoming but does have an TV, play area for kids and a coffee pot. Besides that you must bring your own snacks or purchase them from the vending machines. I would expect and better customer service in this area. But I will be going back to purchase new vehicles in the future

I just bought a 2024 Prius here. My primary salesperson, Dave Woods, was outstanding. He gave me excellent advice on the car, and shared several tidbits that less experienced people would not have known. Beth Clemmer was equally great. When Dave was out for a period, she stepped in seamlessly and provided caring and thoughtful service. The "financing" part was a breeze. Dustin Campbell's approach was low-key, transparent, and personable. I am sold on these guys. Great dealership!

Contacted this dealership through CarGurus and was ghosted completely. I left a review on that site and their response was to pull all listings on CarGurus rather than address their unprofessional behavior that was leading to poor reviews. I would avoid this dealership.

I absolutely love their service department. They are great people who don't try to sell you services you don't need. Matter of fact, they even recommended I not do a service when it wasn't justified! I will only bring my vehicle here even though I live in the Charlottesville area. They are the best!

Thank you Chris Lint for a awesome experience and your patience while I found the right car you answered all of our questions with a smile and honesty through the whole process. By far the best car salesman we have ever had. Thank you Chris!
