“This was our first visit to Staunton and thank goodness we chose the Frederick House! Just to make things clear, it's more than one building. It's 5 by my count. Our choice was the Patrick House, a beautiful mansion about a block away from the office. The room(s) were massive and well appointed. My only issue was a tv that was a little too small for the size of the room. Breakfast was good, our hosts were helpful and the location was perfect. There's no question where we will stay at our next visit.”

“We had amazing time at the Gipsons Warehouse ! Room was super clean, comfortable, accessible to all shops , restaurants in downtown Staunton. We will definitely come back !”

“I can’t give it 5 stars because it is a little dated. However the property and rooms are clean, comfortable beds, a mini fridge, microwave and spacious rooms. The vinyl floor is nice to walk on. I had my dog and the dog walk area was spacious with trash cans for the dog waste.This place was a good place to stop on a road trip especially if you have pets. No charge for pets to stay unless they do some damage.This was a totally unexpected stop. I was only 3 hours in on a 6 hour road trip. I was traveling with my granddaughter and dog. I booked my room online in the hotel parking lot on the Motel 6 App. Front desk staff were professional and polite. Easy check in and I used my AARP discount.Easy to access from Interstate 81. I also had a pizza delivered to my room. Good price for pizza and delivery. They also had coffee at the front desk. No coffee in the room.”

“This was our first stay at this location. The room was very clean. The bed was perfect (for me) along with the pillows on the bed. The bathroom was perfectly stocked with towels and amenities. The breakfast was fully stocked and had a very nice selection. But most importantly, the staff! The staff were amazing, courteous and very friendly.A special shoutout to Tasha for her extremely friendly personality, awesome smile and superior customer service!We travel through here each year at this time and will definitely make this our resting point!Thank you to the manager for her hard work on keeping breakfast stocked on this extremely busy holiday weekend.Your efforts were noticed and truly appreciated!! “Hotel 24 South is a charming and well-preserved/well-maintained historic hotel. The cleanliness is impeccable, and decor modern and up to date, and the staff were ALL charming, capable and attentive. Our light dinner in the bar was quick and delicious. We will definitely return!”

“Pet friendly with nice little grass strip in the back with poop bags so previous dog owners did a fine job of cleaning up after themselves. Breakfast was good with hot pancakes, sausage and eggs along with normal cold selections. Dora, our breakfast “cook” was very nice and attentive. Very pleasant experience!”

“First the downside;No microwave in the room.Ice is only on the first floor with buckets that I am not certain are cleaned or not by the dispenser.Upside;Fairly new hotel with unexpected amenities. There is a pool, gym and business center. A nice reception area with a surprising breakfast available with fresh coffee and all juices. The rooms are comfortable in size. The rooms have soap and toiletries by the sink and in the shower. The beds are comfortable and well made. Everything is reasonably clean. I am immaculate so I notice intricacies like dust on the molding and soap dispensers. However I would say that it is clean without concern. The only other housekeeping issue that I noticed was on the elevator door and floor. I did notice there were contractors staying there so maybe they just were dirty. All of these observations are for you to make an informed decision.”

“The hotel staff is very accommodating and trying to do the best with what they can. However, I was put there as a Traveling nurse while it was under construction and supposedly the manager told my Housing operations that it was under instructions and then the housing people said that they never were told such so, I’ve literally had to move four times in two weeks. One of which was due to miscommunication sleep in to let my Housing no that it was under construction. Usually the jackhammering and drilling through the cement above your roof stops by 5 o’clock however, some nights it doesn’t stop until six or 630. If you are a medical professional and take call is not a good place for you because you won’t be able to sleep during the day. Unfortunately, this is a very comfortable and nice hotel and it’s too bad that it is under construction that I have to move because I was very comfortable. Everything about it was fine from sleeping to easy access to the highway. however, my room did have a few flaws and that might be due to the construction that there was a leak behind my toilet. That has caused some mildew and it is now turning black.”

“Tried this hotel for one night due to location/price. The good is the location, close to restaurants, shopping. The desk clerk was helpful & friendly. The not-so-good is the condition of the room. When we went inside, it was so hot that my husband had to leave the door open while the ac was turned on just to cool the room down. The carpet is old and dirty, needs to be replaced or removed altogether. The bed was OK, needs more pillows and comforters that don't have cigarette burns. The water pressure in the shower was good. There was no breakfast at all, other than coffee and a juice machine that was out of order. Would we stay again? Probably not, unless they improve the facility and add breakfast options.”
