“I stopped by Payton's on my way home from Shenandoah National Park and was very pleased I did. The staff was so friendly and charming and absolutely sold me on the fried chicken here. Happy to have stopped by!”
“Nice local store and convenient for Stanardsville residents. Could use some upgrades. Mostly clean and priced what you would expect for a local store. They do have handicap parking and everything inside the store is set up for wheelchair. I go there from time to time and always friendly atmosphere. Recommend giving it a try and stay away from the main stream of Ruckersville.”
“There is only two pumps and usually you cant even use them because someone parked in front of them to go inside the store. The reason to stop at this gas station is not for the gas anyways, but for the food. Specifically the fried chicken. Its delicious and as the only fried chicken place here in Stanardsville, its the best. Potato wedges, coleslaw, and beans are available as sides. They also serve hamburgers, hot dogs, and fried gizzards on specific days. Get the chicken, you will not be disappointed.”

“Great service and great food. Stopped by to do laundry since my machine at home is on the fritz. It’s not a giant laundry area, but it’s in fantastic condition. Topped by around 5pm, and they weren’t busy at all.”
