I will not be bringing my son back to this filthy daycare. He came home with hand foot and mouth yesterday. Blisters were not on his hands and feet Monday. I have a newborn and I am currently not working therefore majority of the time I am at home. The last time Cameron went to the playground outside of daycare was over a week ago. The director brushed off the hand foot and mouth claim stating she has no idea where it could have possibly came from but obviously it came from another child at daycare. I would be putting a two week notice in however, it is unnecessary for me to pay for any more weeks tuition that Cameron will not allowed to be in attendance. Also for the temperature in the building is so cold that for 3 weeks straight my sons nose has been running he’s been coughing sneezing and ears/arms have been cold. The director laughed when I rolls her they need to clean more. Mats that the kids play on are filthy. Workers smoke cigarettes outside in front instead of the back of the building. I liked a few staff members there but altogether this facility is dirty and run down. This is the cheapest daycare in Stafford va however you get what pay for. Kindercare learning center is way better.

Could not speak more highly of this facility and the staff that works there. I have 2 children here, one in the 2's class and one in the 4's class. My son (4's class) was very uninterested in academics when he entered Dawning Point a year ago. Since then, I have been astonished at the progress that he has made. At home, he is constantly singing songs that he has been taught at school; everything from his number and letters in Spanish to the days of the week. He is constantly sounding out words in our everyday, day to day, and loves being able to show me how much he knows. For a child that wanted nothing to do with academics when he entered, to now asking to learn more, even at home, I am incredibly impressed. The staff is amazing and the love and pride that they have for the kids really shows through. From the director, teachers, TA's and all the way to Ms. Wichert who preps all their meals, I can not say enough about them!

I would give 5 stars if the facility were nicer. The staff does what they can with the facility they are in. My 2 year old son did great there while we were in need of temporary daycare for a couple of months. It was a bit further then we were willing to go, but if we are in need again, he will go back there if a spot is available.

My two daughters were in a different daycare where they were not treated very fairly.... upon a incident that happened to my daughter that required medical attention and the other center being report, we learned about dawning point. They have highly recommend from numerous teachers in Stafford County Public Schools. After touring Dawning Point and meeting the staff, I knew that they would be a great place for my daughters. They have been going to dawning point for a year now and if there is every a question they call me. They have an open door policy and want feedback as well as give feedback. My three yr old knows her letters and can even write them. She comes home singing new songs every week. When I ask my 6 yr old if she wants us to drop her off at school, she would rather take the bus from dawning point. As an educator in the public school system for 13 years, I would highly recommend this establishment. My husband and I are also adopting a child who does not speak English and they are being more than accommodating to help in his adjustment in the upcoming months once he arrives here in the US.

When I had to start my 2 year old son in daycare, I was very nervous. I had never heard of Dawning Point before my friend mentioned it to me. I called and spoke with a very nice lady and set up an appointment. When my husband and I went for our walk-though, it went much better than we thought it would. We were very picky about choosing a center for our "mute" child who had been with me everyday since they were born. But this center, from the time I walked in, had such a fun-loving feeling inside. While sitting in the office talking to the director, every single parent and child I saw was greeted, addressed by name and had personal conversations as if they were friends. I loved seeing how this center felt more personal, like a big family, more than just a business. I was happy with all the rooms, teachers and the building in general. But my favorite part of the tour was meeting all the nice teachers. I'm a very bubbly and happy person and I received the same kind of personality from everyone I met. Needless to say my son has transformed since starting this center. I drop him off every morning knowing that he is genuinely loved and is in the best possible care. My family and I could not be happier with making the decision to enroll in Dawning Point.

I took a tour of this location today. I spoke with the teacher on the phone in the early AM - she was very well spoken and polite. Seemed very knowledgable. I arrive for my tour and am shown around by the "lead" teacher for the 4yr old room. She frequently referred to things using terms like, "up in here" and other border line Ebonics phrasing. The entry way to the facility was dirty, the carpet in the office was ripped to shreds and filthy. The areas in the classrooms were pretty much the same. Cabinets looked filthy, kids chairs black with dirt that hadn't been cleaned in years, by the back doors to the playground (inside the classroom) were piles of leaves and dirt that had been drug in from the outside. There were a few teachers that looked older and well experienced, spoke nicely and seemed really on top of things. Then there were some rooms that the teachers looked to be only 19 yrs old. Due to all of the above mentioned we will not enroll our two children here but continue our search.
