Both my son and I have been through vision therapy at the Springfield office and what a tremendous difference it has made! Especially for my son -- he was having so much trouble in school and being able to learn things. After his treatment here, he is now on the honor roll and I don't have to fight with him to do his homework (well, much!). We had several therapists, but Cindy and Sharilee were our favorites. They both have SO MUCH knowledge about this work and really listen to you during sessions to adjust the exercises for exactly what your brain needs at that time. I can't thank them enough!!

We had a great experience with Dr. Johnson and the therapists at Virginia Vision Therapy. We went to the location in Springfield, which was very conveniently located. Every staff member from the receptionist to the doctor was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. Dr. Johnson and the vision therapists there were able to help my son gain the skills he needed to correct his problem with focusing his eyes which greatly improved his ease of reading.

The therapy sessions went great with a great therapist named David. My problem was fixed in no time with great strategies to fix and strengthen my eyes.

Dr. Johnson, Sharilee, and Maddy are amazing people and vision professionals. They made the therapy sessions engaging and enjoyable for my daughter and provided me with a recap of what they did and what she needs to work on each week. My family is grateful this type of therapy is available in Springfield. I highly recommend this group.

Dr Johnson usually doesn’t treat babies and toddlers patients in office because of obvious challenges which is fine. He provides other resources that may be helpful. However, the new Office manager Tamu at Springfield office placed me on hold because she didnt know the answer to a question and then disconnected the line and didn’t bother to get back in contact with me. She has stated on plenty occasions that she doesn’t have any knowledge regarding optometry and thus unable to answer any questions.

I rarely write negative reviews about anyone but I am compelled to give Virginia Vision Therapy in Springfield a one star. Today we traveled for more than an hour for our second appointment. At the end of our first appointment, we made a second appointment for 5:30 p.m.. After we arrived at the office, we were asked by the receptionist to sign in and waited 47 minutes before a man came out and informed us that our appointment was for 4:30 PM. I shared with him that our appointment was for 5:30 and he asked for a confirmatory email. I informed him that I did not received a confirmatory email for the 4:30 or 5:30 appointments and simply walked away without any consideration for our time and the fact that we spent more than three hours traveling back and forth and waiting for the appointment. I realize scheduling mistakes happen but the disregard for our time, and the unwillingness to remedy or find a solution for an unfortunate situation was unacceptable and beyond outrageous.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience at Virginia Vision Therapy Center. Dr. Johnson explained my son’s diagnosis in terms both an eleven year old and his mom could understand. The therapists were kind and supportive and they made therapy relatable to my son. They included his favorite things, basketball and video games, into therapy activities. The office staff made scheduling easy and flexible. My son has gained vision stability, confidence, stronger reading skills and overall stronger core muscles. I highly recommend using vision therapy to help with seeing double.

Virginia Vision Therapy has made a huge difference in my life. Prior to going there I had attended vision therapy at a different therapy center that focused mainly on using exercises on computer screens that did not work for me. VVT uses all sorts of real life exercises that made sense to me and resolved my vision issue! I worked with Ingrid, Sharilee, and Dr. Johnson and they were all a pleasure to work with!

After suffering from a mTBI I really struggled with balance, reading, memory, seeing double, and a myriad of other side effects. Dr. Davis' accurate diagnosis and Ingrid's amazing therapy work helped me to recover. I can even ride a bike on the street now and that's something I assumed would never come back! Thank you Virginia Vision Therapy Center for helping me to have a new normal that is almost like my pre-injury days.

My 7 year old daughter has just finished about a year of vision therapy and it’s been a wonderful experience! Dr. Johnson is great and has explained everything along the way so I never felt lost, the diagnosis and treatment seem complex, but he really breaks it down for you. And Maddie, our therapist, was AMAZING! My daughter saw her therapist once a week and was always excited to go in. Maddie is gentle, patient and fun, and such a great therapist! When I told my daughter she was all done with vision therapy, she was actually sad because she didn’t want to stop going! I have seen a huge improvement in her vision, it’s amazing what therapy can achieve! I’m very happy I found this place and would recommend them to anyone looking ?
