In early October we had a good experience when our dog died in the middle of the night. They were there to help us get through our tragic loss.

Springfield is amazing & they LOVE the pets, even put up pictures! We switched here from an Alexandria vet that could never get us in for a sick dog! Springfield vets listen to us about our dogs, unlike others. We drive 20 minutes out & it is well worth it.We spent years trying to figure out our dog's allergies, doing food trials, managing environment and symptoms... At our first appointment with Springfield, we asked about blood testing and we started immune therapy drops within 2 months, it's been SO much better.

Had a wonderful experience! First, I have been taking my cat to another vet for years. She had an issue with her eye, I noticed she was scratching at her ears, and also sneezing more. I called to make an appointment with the vet I was using and they wouldn't squeeze me in. I even called a day after making the appt because my cat's eye looked worse and I was concerned. However, they still wouldn't work with me and didn't even ask for details of what was going on.After this, I decided to call Springfield Animal Hospital and spoke with Sarah. I explained the situation and how I was worried about my cat. She was very sweet and asked some follow up questions and got me an appointment the same day I called! I was so thankful for that! I arrived and was greeted and checked in right away. We saw Dr. Oldfield and the technician assisting her was Maria. They were both very friendly and thorough! The exam went well and the Dr. told me exactly what she was going to do to figure out the eye and ear issue. After the diagnoses, Maria showed me how to apply the eye ointment and ear ointment as well. I felt so supported and cared for. Also, I was impressed because the doctor truly listened to what I was saying. I told her how the last time I had to use ear drops for my cat, I got more on me then in my cats ears since she would shake her head right away with the liquid drops. Based on that, she gave me a different type of prescription. While my cat makes it difficult to get this ointment in, it is already going better than it did with the traditional type of ear drops.Another thing I truly appreciate is the follow up! Amanda called me on Friday morning to check on my cat and asked how everything was going. I was surprised they called to follow up b/c the Vet I was taking my cat to prior to this, never did!Springfield Animal Hospital will be our new home now. Thank you for taking care of Mocha!

This was really crazy. They set me up for an appt for my cat. My appointment time was at 1pm I call them because I was running about 7 to 8 mins behind. they told me I had to reschedule I was really upset and ask the guy why his explanation was your appt was at 1 .so we went back and forth because I still don't understand. this Guy HUNG up on me. Now I'm piss because now you rude and no customer care at all.I arrive there again I was angry 1 because he hung up on me now this same guy had the nerve to call the police on me why. I did not do anything to them yes I spoke my mind .why call the police I did not hit you I did not throw anything all I did was yell some.any way police came asking me question and now the people on the inside told them I had a grace period ? I was the one mentioning to the office I had a grace period. I don't do rude ppl And Treat customers with respect don't hang up and then call the police on me like wow. I won't be doing any kind of Business with you all either. The staff used to be nice I'm sure it was a different set of unprofessional staff there. Please learn how to treat people with kindness and respect. And don't have your staff hanging up on people and calling the police and talk to customer like they don't care. Please be careful taking your pets to ppl that are very very rude I never ever experienced this before. If you really listen to the phone conversation then you would had know he h ung up on me and told me he would call the police in me HyI only was upset because I came use my gas my time came from MD To Springfield only because I was a few mins late to say you all can not see me. And when I got there he told me to get out and call the policeman. Your staff was very rude and I see You all didn't apologize for that. Young man to hang up on me and to call the police that was stressful.

There was a big mistake, and my dog did not get his medication while he was there being boarded. This place used to be wonderful. Have used them for over 10 years, but it is not the same under this management.

I’ve been going here since I first got my pup.I no longer live in the area, but continue to go here because of the care he gets every time. They are efficient, organized and very intentional with their treatments! They are also great with following up post treatment to check on the fur babies and see how they are doing. They also offer boarding which is just as great as the maintenance care. I started to name staff members individually, but I honestly have had great experiences with everyone!

BEWARE of this clinic! If you’re looking for a cheaper Veterinary clinic their prices maybe more affordable than others, HOWEVER you will receive poor care for your animals. My pet has been going their for 3 years for routine visits, but when it came down to quality care the male doctor lacked compassion and was very short with his answers with a sprinkle of unnecessary attitude. Prior to my appt the receptionist Mary was rude and tried to over charge us and didn’t take time to understand that a senior pet is not a SICK pet. On top of all this I find out they had my pets gender and age wrong. And it gets better, the male Veterinarian had no clue on my pet and didn’t even take the time to read through his chart to aid us in our questions and responded with “I’d have to look at his chart”. So you just walk into appointments not knowing the pet?! I’ve been a vet tech for 8 years and our experience was a nightmare. He got feed back from the experience I shared with his receptionist and instead of keeping it professional he walked in with an attitude and even rolled his eyes when I was asking routine questions regarding my pet. Then addressing the gender he wants to ask me if my pet is neutered because it says he’s not, well you’re the doctor and my pet is on your table, can’t you tell me if he’s neutered or not? His flamboyant behavior needs to be addressed or they’re gonna keep losing customers. I’ll pay whatever to ensure my pet is cared for, but I will not be charged incorrectly and fortunately it was corrected meaning that mistakes were made so that shows me that I need to find another and a mature one at that! They only care about making money!!!

I took my pet and this is what I had to deal with .the receptionist Mary seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing and very unprofessional and had an attitude, and the doctor wasn’t much better I'm paying him to provide services to my pet and instead he brushed me off, answered none of my questions. and acted like he didn’t care at all ,and he couldn’t be bothered. in my opinion you wanna go to a place that actually cares about your pet , and how much they mean to you, that’s why you’re taking them to a professional .but I guess to them it’s all about the money and that’s why I wouldn’t recommend taking your pet here . Find a better place that actually cares and takes the time to show it.

If I had the option to leave zero stars I would!! The front desk staff is the worst!!!! I took my kitten out of the carrier and the front desk literally went off on me!! I'm not used to this quality of care at the Vet nor do I appreciate being spoken to that way in a professional environment. when discussing my kittens spay, I stated that I wanted to stay in the lobby. The front desk lady (I wish I would've asked her name) rudely stated that it's for pet drop off. I live in DC- it didn't make since to go back and forth. The Surgeon overheard the front desk staff and interjected that she's going to see my kitten first. Ultimately, I opted to use her regular vet in Navy Yard. Even though it's cheaper at Springfield it's not worth the shown quality of care. Do NOT schedule your pet to go here!!

I'm giving 3 stars because I really like the doctors and the front office staff. I'd only taken a pet to them once before because my regular vet couldn't get her in once when she was sick. I liked them so I decided to start taking my cat and two dogs there. Yesterday I took my cat in for shots and some bloodwork to check on why she's been losing weight. This was my first visit with them beyond the initial one when my dog was sick. When I got to the front the bill came to $430. I almost passed out! For an exam, shots, and bloodwork I expected it to be around $250. I came to that based on previous appointments with my original vet. I paid the bill without saying anything, but now I know I can't start using them as my regular vet because I can't afford them. Very disappointed, and still kind of in shock.

Hello I was impressed by Springfield veterinary hospital . I live in DC and went there because the vets in the DMV area are very expensive . They recommended by the humane society here in DC . They have a list of vets that are good and priced fairly . Springfield is definitely one of them .

My experience here for 4 years was not good. I had a dr tell me my dog wouldn’t need dental work again at age 10 implying he wouldn’t live that long (he is 15.5 now and had 2 more dentals elsewhere). I tried to explain his insulin was not working effectively (paw sticks 31, or 400), and they wouldn’t listen to changing it and then the cost was so high with minimal care from the providers. When I moved to a different vet in Fairfax Station l was able to see just how lacking the care was. Vets need to be nicer and stop upselling services not needed.
