“Had a wonderful experience working with Pat here today. She conducted a gait and foot analysis, and tailor selected shoes for me to try on. I am relatively new to running and wasn’t quite sure what I was looking for — Pat did a fabulous job helping me identify what style of shoe would be best for me. She gave me her undivided care and attention, and I left with a wonderful pair of shoes. I just did my first test run and am very happy with the result. I definitely recommend this store to any runner looking for guidance and expertise.”

I will say this, the key to finding deals is to be willing to look at shoes, prices, and clearance. I bought a last pair of shoes and got the pair I wanted by checking the clearance section again. “Have never made a seven year old the HAPPIEST person on the planet. My son had been asking me and my wife for some shoes that he could slide around the house, school, etc. After going round and round over what exactly he was talking about, we landed on “Heely’s.” A very popular kids shoe that has a small wheel in the heel, that allows the kid to have a feeling of gliding forward. After some slight research, we were able to locate local stores where these “magical” shoes could be purchased. Went to Springfield Centre Mall and went to “Journey’s Kids” which had a very huge selection of kid shoes to include Vans, Heely’s, etc. The staff were very polite, courteous and helpful. After making our shoe selection and getting a few pairs of socks as well, it was time to conclude our mission of the day. Special shout out to the gentlemen working the store, they were low key awesome according to my son. Thanks!”

“This is a GREAT Rack Room Shoes. Store is clean, always well stocked and they have a great selection. The employees are always helpful and you can always get help. Easy to get to just outside the top floor Target entrance into the Springfield mall. My only gripe?: if you want to use a Military discount, they only offer on Tuesdays.”

“As a dedicated online sneakerhead, I’ve rarely ventured into physical stores—mainly because DTLR locations were never conveniently located near my home. That changed recently when I needed to return an item, leading me to discover this gem of a store. The experience was nothing short of exceptional.

Upon entering, my daughter and I were warmly greeted by three enthusiastic employees. Now, this may seem like a small thing, but to me, it’s a dealbreaker. If a store can't be bothered to acknowledge my presence, I can’t be bothered to spend my hard-earned money there.

Thankfully, this wasn’t an issue at DTLR. The store manager, Rian, not only assisted with the return but also took the time to engage with my daughter, helping her navigate the latest trends with a level of expertise that only a true sneaker aficionado possesses. Rian's knowledge of both classic retros and the latest styles was impressive—this is someone who knows their kicks!

What truly stood out, though, was a situation that unfolded while we were in line to purchase my daughter’s choice, the gray New Balance 9060s. Ahead of us was a “Karen”—an entitled customer who was determined to return an item without a receipt. She was subtly rude, layering her complaints with hidden insults. Rian handled the entire situation with an almost zen-like calm, maintaining her professionalism and composure throughout what felt like an endless 20 minutes.

I was frustrated by the delay but couldn’t help feeling a sense of pride as I watched Rian navigate the interaction. As a mother raising Black daughters, I seize every opportunity to teach them about grace under pressure. Living as a Black person in America often means having to work twice as hard to be recognized, while being mindful that expressing anger can result in being unfairly judged. Rian exemplified the kind of professionalism and poise I hope to instill in my daughters.

Rian’s handling of this situation, as well as her interactions with customers of various backgrounds, was a masterclass in customer service. She treated every individual with the same respect and enthusiasm, proving that sneaker culture transcends race, size, and shape.

Because of Rian, DTLR has earned a loyal customer for life. Her professionalism hasn’t gone unnoticed, and it’s truly appreciated. Every employee should strive to reach the high standard that Rian sets.”
