i paid 1 month in advance to reserve a car, i went to pick up the car on the agreed date and time of the reservation, which was the day before thanksgiving. when i arrived at the office in springfield va, the person in front desk told me that they did not have any car for me regardless of the reservation i already had, they delivered their cars first came first serve, also he told me to go look for another car in another place, i asked for the payi made it, he respond throwing a flyer on his desk telling me to call that number to request a refund. i wll never rent any car from this company

My experience was not with the Springfield, VA location. My experience was with Budget as a Corporation. I rented a full-sized vehicle. Within two hours of driving, I noticed the car began to make a very unusual sound when turning the steering wheel to the left or right. So, I immediately called the 800 number for roadside assistance. I was told that I could go to any Budget location to swap out the vehicle. I drove to Budget office location at 219 Bucheimer Road in Frederick, MD which was 10 minutes from my then location when I noticed the problem. When I got there, I was told by Tolu (the rep at the counter) that he did not have a vehicle that he could provide to me. He advised that I drive to an airport location which was over an hour away and not in the direction, I was going. I was puzzled because he had over 20+ vehicles that he could offer from compact to large SUVs and minivans with no one in line or sight of coming in to rent a vehicle. So, I called customer service to be transferred back and forth to roadside assistance to customer service on who was to provide me appropriate assistance. Well after an hour and half of being unable to get someone on the phone to assist, Tolu came out to ask if we would be willing to take an uncleaned Toyota Collora that was just returned by a customer. We also asked if he could call another location within the area to see what inventory they had available and was informed that was for the me to do. I'm like really, what kind of customer service is that?At this point, I could not believe what I was experiencing. You cannot offer me another vehicle comparable to what I rented from another location although 20+ vehicles were in your possession, and you could not you call another location to what inventory was available. At this point, my emotions began to take over, so he decided to also offer a Toyota pickup truck that was also on the lot. He could have offered that from the beginning. Yes, I understand that he was willing to offer something at this point, we have not waited almost two hours. I am not pleased with my experience at all, Budget! You have to do better with providing serviced vehicles and much better customer service all around.We decided to take the truck but was delayed over 2 1/2 hours which could have been avoided if compassion and appropriate service was offered from the beginning.I explained to the agent my experience, when I returned the vehicle, and he was just as appalled at customer service and the Frederick, MD location. He helped by taking off some of the cost. However, going forward, I will reconsider when choosing Budget as this was a very bad experience! I'd rather pay double for a rental if having to deal with Enterprise, Alamo or another competitor than to ever experience this again.

Have rented from this location numerous times in the past 2 yrs -- SUVs to drive to Minn & Fla, plus locally when my car was being repaired. No car issues & always clean. Staff are friendly & helpful. Reserved cars are a quick check-in/-out. Office is very small, inside lobby of a hotel, but sufficient (better than being isolated from other busn that may be open/closed).

Other than the car being very nice. Customer service was terrible. Never again, would I prepay for a rental. If you return the car early you do not get a prorated refund. Plus with prepay, I still had to put a security deposit.Then told that deposit refund would take up to 2 or 3 weeks.The chances of doing business with Budget, is highly unlikely ever again.

Great experience! Honestly, I was very worried after reading the reviews because I was renting a large SUV to take on a cross country road trip half of which I was driving alone as a single female. The other reviews listed on Google were so low I thought I was going to need to go elsewhere BUT I was wrong. This car rental delivered on everything I needed to feel secure during my 5500 mile trip.I needed a car that was reliable and in great mechanical condition. This budget office exceeded my expectations! I was given a brand new 2023 Chevy Suburban with less than 8,000 miles on it. When I went to pick it up, it still needed to be vacuumed but the wait was worth it and I was out the door in less than 30 mins. The two brothers that run this office were helpful and friendly. The cleaning staff did an excellent job and the Suburban was perfect for my needs.When we returned the vehicle, the process was easy and quick. I would recommend this car rental to anyone. I'm really unsure why they have received so many bad reviews. It is not busy, quick and reliable and I will definitely rent from them again!

A big fat ZERO! Do not use this car rental place. If I could give negative zero minus zero I would. We ended up with 3 different cars that all broke down 5 miles from the location. The final car had to be towed. We never could use the car we rented car. This is a complete mess and an embarrassment. I urge you to find a another place to rent from. This was a complete disaster.

The location is inside of the Comfort Inn and a little small but the customer service experience was excellent. The rep was extremely helpful and I appreciate that so much,.

This place has 10 years of bad ratings for a reason. 2 stars because the cars are relatively nice for the price, but the customer service here is seriously bottom tier. (Also, Budget customer service in general is very bad. Steer clear unless your company has an agreement with them)

Service hospitality low...cleanliness of car is below standard. However, we returned an 'immaculate' and tidy.For whatsoever reason service agents shouldn't flatly insist on terms of insurance and/or other rental issues. Indeed they should advise terms in good gaith or courtesy manner. We give this note as a gesture of continuous improvement to the service manager. Hope he will take this note positively.

Car rentals, like car buying has become so difficult. Budget made it easy and the car I got was terrific! Mike at the desk when I picked up was great, the car I wanted wasn't availble, he quickly reserved me another car close by, had my paperwork all complete and I was on the road in minutes! I would definately rent from budget again in the future.

Reserved a rental car 2 months in advance with a car seat for an infant. Called a few weeks in advance to check that everything was set and received the confirmation via text a day prior. No email, nothing.Got to the location and first up the person couldn’t find our reservation, then they did not had a car seat available that was confirmed twice before. I was told that it was not on the reservation at all.Needless to say, we wasted almost 2hrs driving because we also drove to an additional budget location to be presented with a booster seat instead of a infant car seat. Very disappointing and unorganized service.

I rented a Cadillac SUV form December 26 until the 31st. The vehicle was ready for me on arrival and the service was excellent. The vehicle was well maintained and the driving experience was great and affordable.I spoke with the owner who could not have been more helpful. The entire process was a great experience.

I have been renting from this location and Brandon Avenue for many years! I am grateful for the friendly and fantastic customer service I receive each time from Danny and Mike. There is also another Gentlemen, whose name I can't recall. He is also very friendly. I would recommend to everyone if they want a wonderful rental experience. Thanks. ?
