I recently discovered there is an Avis/Budget rental office within the Holiday Inn. I only rent from Avis and previously traveled to National airport to rent for work and personal use. No airport fees at this location and one-on-one interaction with friendly staff. It is a great experience and I cannot say enough in recommending this location. I only wish I would have found out years ago. If you are a tourist or a local and need a rental in the Springfield, VA, area, this is the place to go.

Maybe this is not just Avis and all rental car companies have gone the route of poor customer service, but this was disappointing. The van we picked up had not been cleaned and besides it needing to be vacuumed, low coolant and low wiper fluid lights were on when we got it. In addition, we found a previous renter’s wallet in the van halfway through our trip, and could not report it bc despite multiple calls we could never get a human on the line. (They told us their phone system was down, but seriously, for multiple days?!) On our way home, about 5 hrs into an 18 hour drive, we had a tire losing air fast and when we called roadside assistance they told us to go to a nearby Avis location to switch it for another van. They told us it was a top 100 location and was guaranteed to have the same vehicle (a 12 passenger van, which we needed bc we had 9 people with us), but when we arrived they told us that they didn’t have any vans that size and were frustrated that that happened regularly with people being guaranteed a vehicle but no one checking to make sure the location actually had one available. We had to change the tire ourselves and thankfully the van had a full sized spare bc we never would have made it home otherwise. Disappointing all around.

Zero customer service, I tried calling after my reservation online with few questions answered was put on hold for over 10mins and got discounted automatically. I tried again multiple times over next two days exact same thing kept on happening. I ended up cancelling my rental online and will be using another company. Good luck on location with customer service response.

The absolute worst! Stay far away from them. They didn't have the promised car, they told me they were putting $250 on hold and charged the whole amount, their managers and call center are incompetent garbage! Their employees do not care, lie, and cheat. Never again!

I wish there was an option to not give any stars because that what this location deserves after the experience I just had. I called in to ask a few questions earlier this morning and after I asked 1, the rep who answered at this location acted like he didn't understand me, and very rudely responded with "what you talking about" so I repeated and he responded so fast with what it sounded possibly like "not allowed" and hung up that it completely caught me off guard and I didn't even understand what he said. So I called back and asked why he hung up on me when I was speaking, he responded back saying "I said not allowed" and hung up again. I then called back 3 other times to get my other questions answered and he proceeded to pickup and hang up the call simultaneously every single time. Avis you need to do better when hiring people who are in customer service. I've worked in customer service for 15+ years and never have I come across someone as rude as that particular rep at this location. I couldn't get his name since he kept hanging up on me. If you don't like your job, get a new one because being rude in that way to customers is completely unacceptable and if this was my business I'd fire them ASAP. My family and I all travel a lot and rent cars frequently and after this experience I can guarantee that I will never use AVIS & I will advise others not to.

I made a reservation on 9/16/2022 to rent a mini van from this Avis. The rental was from 10/21-10/29. When we arrived at the location to pick up our reservation we were informed that they have been out of cars for 2 days.We were not notified that they were out of rentals. After speaking with the manager on duty he directed us to another Avis down the road and assured us that they would have a vehicle for us.When we arrived a the second location they had one minivan left. That minivan was dead and couldn't be jumped.Extremely dissatisfied with the lack of communication and quality control of their fleet vehicles. I would leave a lower review if possible.

Update:They contacted me and they said its not their fault and its the customers mistake who didn't return the car on time. What an excuse.Don't waste your time and money.I booked the car online a week in advance. I came to pick it up they said we don't have car for you.They made me wait for an hour then they said we can give you minivan instead.They have a sign that says its $450 cleaning fee if I don't clean the car. Also they charge $10 a gallon if the car needs gas. And if you are late to return the car they charge you by the hour.I ended up paying 4 times the price I planned to pay with avis because when I went to enterprise they only have big SUV available which is 4 times the price I planned to pay for small car.Please save your time and money.

I reserved and paid to rent a car online the last minute to drive out of state for a funeral. I recieved a confirmation number in a email. I left about 30 ninutes later. I was atbthe omace within an hour. The lady told me they dont have any cars for rent. When i got home i got another email trying to get me to buy more addons.

I rented a car at the last minute from Avis at 6401 Brandon Avenue Holiday Inn Springfield VA 22150. Fortunately for me, I was assisted by a beautiful young lady by the name of Biyukan. She was extremely helpful and professional. She check me in, and check me out on my return. She is an asset to the Avis Rental Car Company. Please thank her for me. See you in the future for our next rental.
