If you like boating, kayaking, paddle boarding or any type of water sport this is a great spot from a pontoon boat to a ski boat. There are endless possibilities on this gigantic lake system, and there’s lots of little quiet offshoots of the lake that are great for fishing you’ll feel your blood pressure Immediately go down once you see the lake and be in vacation mode even if only for a day a great spot to visit!!

I love Lake Anna State Park Sunday through Thursday. It's too crowded and noisy for me on weekends at beach and picnic areas. Prices to enter park and swim fees seem reasonable to me. I've seen people give lifeguard's and rangers a fit when told to get beach bracelet and pay the fee. It's about $4 for adults and $3 for kids on weekdays. Swimming included in camping fees. Fees help support and maintain the park so I don't mind. You can swim outside beach roped area if you want to avoid the swim fee. I camp here several times a year and love campsites which are spacious, clean, nice picnic tables and fire pits. RV sites nice electric and water hookups. Bike riding fun here. Trails for hiking and horseback riding nice. Deluxe cabins nice. Cozy cabins have no AC and one electric outlet. I'd love to see AC added! Good for primitive camping though. Bathrooms and private showers in back are good usually clean and usually have hot water Laundry available with quarters. Beautiful views of lake. Lovely park. Rangers are nice and helpful. Staff does great job!

Great for family day trips. The water is really nice and warm around July. Just make sure your dog has tick repellent on. A lot of ticks. I personally had about a dozen ticks on me. I would do regular tick checks if you’re hiking.

I am rating this state park at a 5, but I have a gripe. There was an emergency repair to the water system that was essential to water to the entire campground. Thank you to the staff for making rounds to prepare us to fill our reservoir with water. Overall the best state park we have yet to visit.

We have only visited the park once thus far for hiking. The trails are wide and mostly clear. There are numerous trail options so you can easily choose the length that's just right for you. Lots of fun nature finds along the way! Please keep in mind that many of these trails are also open to those riding bikes or horses. We didn't come across either during our visit. The park also offers camping for those interested. We were disappointed the Visitor Center wasn't open but there was another smaller office open for those needing assistance. There is a parking fee and an extra swimming fee if you are heading to the beach section to swim.

Wonderful to say the least!! Lake Anna offers a bunch of outdoor activity options- great views, nice trails, ideal for anglers, awesome beach for swimming enthusiasts, speed boats, picnic tables and grills etc etc … you name it, Lake Anna SP has it.
Must a repeat visit, i plan to do all the hiking trails and haul a bike.
Paid $7 for parking and there are plenty of spots. But this is a very very popular destination, plan early ALWAYS!!
