What a find! If you are looking for exquisite pieces of art you need to visit the Cottage Curator! Jackie, the owner, has a keen eye for the beautiful, the well-crafted, and the very fine details. There is something for every taste: oil paintings, ceramics, glass pieces, wooden furniture. I bought 3 beautiful photographs printed on canvas which Jackie herself took. She confessed all her pictures are taken around her house, no special trips to capture nature. They are all sublime. If you happen to visit Sperryville, don’t miss the Cottage Curator!

This is a lovely gallery, flooded with natural light and featuring a wide variety of exquisite works. The owner couldn't have been more gracious with her time and knowledge, and we thoroughly enjoyed her added insights into the artists, their creative processes, etc. We especially love the many beautiful paintings of Krista Townsend! Highly recommend a stop here.

The pieces in this gallery were beautiful and artists we know and have followed for many years...but the 3 women who worked there, hovered so badly..we couldn't even look,in peace,at the works!! As an artist,I enjoy seeing others work...but don't enjoy someone telling me what media the artist used,if i did not ask and watching me constantly...Each time ,we've been to this gallery, this has happened. Also, labels were incorrectly spelled,a painting had fallen off it hanger, and was laying sideways on display rack. Was not a pleasant experience!

Nice little art studio in Sperryville with a mix of furniture, paintings, photos, ceramics and things. A bit pricey, but that's to be expected. Varying caliber of art, but that's also maybe to be expected and somewhat in the eye of the beholder. We spent two-day getaway in Sperryville, which we normally visit with the kids, as a couple and thus we got a chance to visit some of the art galleries that we normally don't even really try to visit with kids. This one is where we wound up actually buying something. The space is small, but interesting with a variety of different art ranging from carved gourds, to ceramics, to photos, to furniture, to paintings. When it comes to paintings, Haley Fine Art, which is closer to downtown actually did a better overall job, but we wound up falling in love with a photo/painting of a crow staring into an old SLR on a pile of books. It just had a ton of character, was edgy enough to be interesting, but plain enough to be able to go with almost anything else. For better or for worse, some of the art here just didn't inspire. We came in part because we love birds and woodpeckers and there were some ceramics with woodpeckers on them that looked interesting online, but they weren't as impressive in person. They didn't quite match the real woodpeckers either in a photo-realistic or abstract way. It's possible some art just isn't for us, but it's also possible that some art just isn't that great.Still there was clearly enough that we wound up finding and liking some things.

Beautiful collection and very attentive staff. The woman who helped us, I think the owner, was very knowledgeable and shared the history of the pieces. We were particularly impressed by the photography. There were some beautiful prints of birds and flowers.

My husband and I stopped by this perfect little gem to browse the collection. We were greeted by Jackie who was so kind and helpful. There was hand sanitizer, rubber gloves, and alcohol wipes available upon entering. She even had them in these cute little bags right at the front. We loved talking with Jackie and hearing about her many accomplishments and her dedication to her art. She had some of the most beautiful paintings and ceramics that I have seen in quite some time. We were wowed by her photographs and purchased two of our favorites from her work. She even spent time listening to our life story and other musings so we felt right at home. We will definitely be back to visit this gallery and shop.

A truly amazing experience! A visit to the Cottage Curator is a must see for anyone interested in fine art and crafts. The gallery offers an eclectic and well curated mix of photography, painting, mixed media, sculptures, fine art crafts, and more. During our visit Jackie provided us with fascinating information about the local, regional, and national artists represented in the gallery. I will definitely be back!
