Very interesting place. Beautifully restored. Great guided tours. Be ready to dive deep into its history. Free. I would NOT recommend for kids under age 12. May 2022

Interesting find. The 1752 courthouse building is original. This Courthouse was utilized for minor cases. Large scale hearings were held in Williamsburg and Richmond. Smithfield continues to host an annual reenactment of a trial. We were a week too early. There is no charge to visit but you may leave a token of your appreciation in the donation box. There wasn't a tour offered but the gentleman in the office gave a brief history of the courtroom and artifacts. The 1781 telescope was amazing to see and read about it's history.

This was a cool place to see. The volunteer that was there was so full of information and answered all my questions. Glad I stopped in.
