My husband, one year old daughter, pup and I had an amazing weekend at the White Pig! We stayed in the Cloud Cottage and loved hiking on the grounds, meeting the animals, and enjoying the yummy vegan breakfasts. This was a perfect weekend getaway from Richmond and we cannot recommend it highly enough. (Parent tip: the pac n play will fit in the bathroom of the cloud cottage so you can put your kiddo to bed and still enjoy the evening!) We highly recommend watching the fireflies underneath the backyard tree canopy while enjoying a beer from the nearby brewery! So grateful we found this place!

Rented two rooms on second floor of the bed and breakfast for two nights. It was a super relaxing and quiet stay, and we enjoyed the farm tour. Hiked up Humpback rocks on the Blue Ridge Parkway after our farm tour. Lots of vegan restaurants in Charlottesville for lunch or dinner. Breakfast was amazing and filling! Cupcakes were left out for us on arrival; a sweet touch. The owner does everything... caring for the animals, cooking, cleaning etc... so if you're looking for a place to be pampered with a concierge and staff available 24/7 go to a hotel. If u want to be in a quiet place in nature near Shenandoah Park with delightful breakfast and plenty of acres to walk through and the experience of scratching plenty of pig bellies, this is perfect!
Rooms: Rooms are spacious with comfy beds. Bathrobes are provided with extra towels. The main pink house is air conditioned. Like most older houses I wouldn't say it is great for people with physical disabilities. My only frustration was that I wish there was a different shower head in the Jacob bathroom because it was hard to avoid getting water outside of the tub even with the shower curtain correctly inside the tub.
Nearby activities: Highly recommend going up Humpback Rock Trail on the Blue Ridge Parkway (no parking fee) and seeing Shenandoah National Park
Safety: Super safe area. Separate keys for each room rented are provided.
Food & drinks: A filling and delicious vegan breakfast is provided daily. Consider heading to Roots Natural Kitchen, GRN Burger, or Botanical Plant Based Fare for lunch or dinner... all great vegan options (the last two are solely vegan)

As someone that is very focused on cleanliness and comfort, I was very impressed with The White Pig Bed and Breakfast. The house and grounds were in great condition, the bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and the host was friendly without being too in our space. I highly recommend for a relaxing and different retreat, whether vegan or not!

WOW this was one of the most special stays ever. Everything is so beautiful and peaceful. The pink house is gorgeous and each room has a theme. Our room was so clean, cozy, and had everything we needed. The breakfasts are AMAZING and so filling. It’s all so homey, all vegan, so special. The sanctuary tour is one of my top ten favorite activities ever. This sanctuary cares for 70 animals—the pigs love belly rubs, Clyde the sheep is so friendly and loving, and the horses are beautiful and love treats. I can’t wait to return!!

My girlfriend and I loved The White Pig! We stayed in the cabin and it was cozy, especially when a storm ran through. Dina, the person who does pretty much everything including the B&B business / cooking / cleaning as well as all the sanctuary work, is a powerhouse of the non-stop work. The sanctuary is peaceful in the woods so you'll want to have transportation to any events you're planning on going to while there!
Rooms: We stayed in the solo cabin and it was great
Walkability: The sanctuary is very much in the middle of the woods so be prepared to drive
Food & drinks: My partner and I are vegan and the food that Dina made for us was great!
Noteworthy details: Dina is extremely busy as she does literally everything in the B&B and sanctuary. We really enjoyed the tour through the woods. The hot tub behind the main house was awesome and had a nice view during sunset!

This was a TERRIBLE stay. My friend is vegan and we were so excited to find a vegan B&B but were SO disappointed. The place is really run down. At one point, it looks like it might have been nice, but not anymore. The host was the MOST unwelcome host ever. She didn't check if we were OK or if we needed anything. Anytime we tried to engage in a conversation, she responded with short answers with an apathetic disposition that made us feel awkward. We booked a wine package through the B&B website, and the winery was CLOSED. The host did not apologize, or do anything to make up for the waste of time it was to travel to this winery that was about 30 minutes away only to find out it was closed. You would think that as the host she would have confirmed that it was indeed open since we were only staying for the weekend, and our time was limited. The food was not good at all. We ordered lunches from her and regretted doing so.I don't often do reviews but I had to do this one to prevent others from being encouraged to stay here. The other reviews in this thread are NOT our experience AT ALL.Walkability: Can't walk anywhere. The closest winery is about a 20 minute drive away.Food & drinks: Terrible!

What a perfect stay we had at the White Pig B&B! It was the perfect December cozy atmosphere, the whole house is decorated to the nines with adorable farm and, of course, pig decor. It was a special touch that they shared the history of the pig our room was named after, along with a little bit of the sanctuary's story. Our room was beautiful and we were greeted with cupcakes when we arrived. They even went so far as to make a gluten free batch for my friend who called ahead of our stay to let them know. The vegan breakfast served was delicious! We had coffee, juice, grapefruit halves, an oven-baked omelet, apple turnover, and hash-browns. After breakfast we greeted and gave a few snacks to the horses, said hello and gave pets to all the miniature pot-bellies, and walked the gorgeous property. Overall, it was a unique getaway that we're already talking about doing again!

Our weekend stay at The White Pig was absolutely wonderful. The surrounding area, the Blue Ridge Mountains, is gorgeous, so the drive there was breathtaking. As soon as my husband and I got out of the car when we arrived, two of the horses came up to the fence to greet us. Every evening, all four horses would come out to graze, and since their pasture surrounds the inn, we could quietly stand at the fence and spend time with them while they ate, and occasionally they would come up to us and say hello. The house was adorable and very comfortably air-conditioned. There were more pig chotchkes on the property than you could count! We stayed in the Jacob room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. Breakfast each morning was so scrumptious! French toast, a Just Egg omelette, waffles--everything was delicious. As of our stay there, The White Pig sanctuary is home to 46 pigs! We got to pet many of them during the farm tour and were able to visit with the animals anytime during daylight hours. We also took a few peaceful walks in the woods. We truly can't recommend The White Pig enough. If you're looking for a peaceful, secluded getaway, delicious vegan breakfasts, and the chance to pet some piggies, The White Pig is for you.

This farm animal sanctuary + bed and breakfast is a real gem inside the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. The farm itself is a lovely property filled with rescue animals, mostly pigs as the name suggests, along with plenty of goats, horses etc. We stayed in the guest house: The Cloud Cottage with our two little dogs. It was a perfect cozy getaway. The breakfasts are phenomenal, the hot tub is great and they even have an on-site massage setup where one can book a massage with their stay. There's also a wine package and you can order to-go lunches to purchase, prepared by Dina when requested in advance. We love this facility and look forward to returning and supporting their future plans to expand. Knowing our money is spent supporting their animals is wonderful too. They have trails on the farm to explore, it all feels so quiet and private. Can't wait to make it back.

Did some work on a pig addition back in the day. Owners are terrific people. They had ambient heated floor put in under the tile for the pigs how nice

If a "pig sanctuary" is your idea of heaven — as it is for my wife — then this place is absolutely for you. And if you're more pig-curious (like me), you'll probably be surprised by how much fun you end up having. We stayed in the Jacob room for one night and booked the farm tour for the morning after. The room was nice and very comfortable (and mercifully has AC - it reached the 90s during our visit). Breakfast was lovely, the walking trails around the property were nice and peaceful (and apparently going to be expanded soon), and the farm tour was awesome. They have 37 pigs and counting, quite a few goats, a handful of sheep, two horses and a Shetland pony. If this sounds like your kind of trip, I recommend you do it. We had a great time!

This is the worst experience I have ever had. It was dirty inside and out. The water container was half full and it was yellow. There is one 19 inch tv in the very small living one for all the rooms. To turn the lamp on in the bed room you have to go down the hall and hit a switch. There is no fresh deserts, refreshments and drinks as specified. No kitchen available. No phone service. I highly recommend you do not stay here. The owners would not accommodate anything. We were told breakfast would be at 9:00, we did not stick around to see if any breakfast was available. We had no other choice to stay since no refund would be given. There was no one there to welcome us at 3:00 pm in the afternoon. They left keys with our name on it.

I went to The White Pig back in 2000 and loved it then. Recently went back and loved how it has grown. Dina makes the best breakfasts.
I love the animal sanctuary.
