We stayed one night and had wonderful experience. We felt as if we had walked into the actual Walton house with all the rooms decorated in so much detail. Kat was a great host, super friendly and prepared a delicious breakfast. I highly recommend John & Olivia's Bed & Breakfast!!

We’ve love The Walton’s show since we were children. Carole, the owner has recreated the first floor of the Walton’s set in incredible detail. Her breakfasts are wonderful and coffee is at the ready each morning. The Walton’s museum is across the street. We traveled to Charlottesville, Richmond, The upper Shirley plantation, Berkeley Plantation, Monticello and Michie Tavern. It was a fantastic trip and Carole was a fabulous host!
Rooms: Our rooms were large and an en-suite! The shower was great. If I had one suggestion, we could only get The Waltons on TV lol! It’s probably our lack of tech savvy but we still enjoyed watching!

My husband and I came to visit for our one year anniversary. We both love the Walton's and I am certain there will never be another show like this. When we walked in I was expecting Olivia and Grandma to come from the kitchen. I couldn't believe it was so real and we stayed in John boys room and I was just over the top. I bought the DVD set and the extra movies years ago and watch them often. I have loved them since I was only five and will continue to love them. Miss Caroline the lady that owns the bed and breakfast is exceptional with her knowledge that she has of the Hamner family and the Walton family and she's a great cook too. All the guests at breakfast the next morning sitting at The Waltons kitchen table as Miss Caroline gave us more knowledge and wisdom and her passion as well as ours. She is also in the process of doing the Baldwin home which is right near this one, and I am excited to see this one as well. I could go on and on but I will not, I just had a wonderful time and my husband did as well. It was just a awesome place to see and to be in and to be a part of just for a little while. It is real and you need to take a trip to John and Olivia's B& B.. Thank you for making this adventure a reality. 5-6-24 Brent and Teresa Robbins, Ferguson, NC

I adore "The Waltons" and thoroughly enjoyed my stay at John and Olivia's bed and breakfast. My husband and I chose to stay there over Thanksgiving last year. The people we encountered were exceptional, and the owner was truly delightful. It's difficult to articulate just how much I treasured this experience; it felt like a home away from home. I discovered that fans of "The Waltons" are affectionately referred to as "Walnuts." I was amazed by how knowledgeable other guests were about the show, recalling episodes and trivia with ease. The bed and breakfast was meticulously crafted to replicate the iconic house from the Hollywood set, while the actual residence of Mr. Earl Hamner, the creator, was conveniently located nearby for tours.
I was pleasantly surprised to learn that the charming John and Olivia bed and breakfast was only four years old. Given my sensitivity to mold and mildew, I initially harbored concerns about staying in an older property, but those worries quickly dissipated once I experienced the immaculate condition of the accommodations. Each bedroom resembled those featured in the show and boasted its own private bathroom. To my delight, I discovered a TV cleverly concealed behind a quilt in the bedroom, allowing me to fall asleep to my favorite shows.
The following morning, we were treated to a delightful breakfast prepared by the owner, who engaged us in lively conversations about "The Waltons." I cannot overstate how wonderful I felt during my time at that charming retreat. Additionally, we had the opportunity to explore a museum across the road filled with an array of memorabilia from the beloved show.
Rooms: Just as pictured.
Walkability: The museum is across the street.
Food & drinks: Breakfast was home cooked and delicious!

My wife and I celebrated out 12th wedding anniversary at John & Olivia's Bed and Breakfast (2 nights). Carole was the greatest. Her knowledge of the Waltons and the surrounding area is amazing. The B&B is decorated with all kinds of Walton memorabilia. Not enough room to give a just review. This area and Carole has to be experienced. Note: beware of Drusilla's Pond. Will try to add some photos later.
Rooms: We stayed in Grandma & Grandpa room. Immaculate, cozy and quite.
Nearby activities: The activies we did were within a mile or so. We walked to several places.

The word is “magical”. This is my second stay and it holds an amazing feeling the minute you step through the front screen door. The detail of the whole house to commemorate an amazing show like the Waltons is unbelievable. Carole and her staff are the utmost in customer service. There is lots to do in the area and the surrounding area offers beautiful views of nature. Come stay here and you will not be disappointed!

Had a great time! It was my birthday weekend and I couldn't have had a better time then to spend it with newly made friends. Setting in the living room watching the Waltons on the TV and looking at all the memorabilia in the show and the room we were all in. I could see John and Grandpa setting in their chairs. I looked at the kitchen and could see Olivia and Grandma cooking. The kids were setting around also. John boy was up in his bedroom called the writer's room that we were in working on his book. My mind went back to a simple life with family and friends. Thanks for the memories.

So we didn't stay overnight at the B&B but we did visit and tour. It was a beautiful house and, as a big fan of the Waltons TV show, it was a fantastic experience. It is well worth your time, even if you are only touring. The Waltons' Mountain Museum is directly across the street and the actual home that Earl Hamner Jr lived in as a child is just a short walk down the street. Please take some time to see this wonderful place if you are in the area. I love the inclusion of Grandma's stained glass window.
