Our dog Pixie was not feeling well, and they worked her in. Found the issue and fixed it. They are very caring and dedicated.

Salem Animal Hospital is the best veterinary clinic around. We have tried several vet offices for our dog with epilepsy and they are so good with her. They are also amazing with our senior dog, younger dog, and cat! They are so respectful, informative, and understanding. Our pets have received care from several of the different Veterinarians, technicians, support staff and they all provide exceptional care for our fur children.

I've been a patient of Dr. Bryant for close to fifteen years and he has always been fair and very knowledgeable and professional with three of my dogs (Rascal, Lobo and Lee Lee). He has worked extremely hard to build a state of the art veterinary clinic that is very much needed in this area.

From the moment I called to the moment I left, I felt respected and prioritized at Salem Animal Hospital. My cat was attacked and needed to be seen on an emergent basis. Immediately I felt reassured when my call for help was answered by a very understanding and calming person ready to help me end the nightmare I was going through. The Vet and Assistants that helped me were the best! I was so upset for my poor cat, but my tears of fear turned into tears of joy when I was able to place her in their caring and competent hands. I felt like they treated my baby like she was theirs too. Even though I was distraught, they took the time to explain everything to me and answer all of my questions and ease every concern. They didn’t just take care of my cat that day, they took care of me too and I will forever be grateful to Salem Animal Hospital.

Our dog is terrified of the vet and Salem Animal Hospital is so accommodating they have even done his visits in the parking lot if it has been too hard to get him into the building. The most amazing staff ever they truly treat you like family!

Since they have to pay for the new building, The admin ultimate goal to take your money. Heartworm medicine has NO laws except regulated by the FDA for Safety of our animals. A yearly Test/exam is not required by LAW. If you skip 2 months in the winter for indoor dogs, the chances of Heartworm are slim to none. I have been with Salem Animal Hospital for years and the Doctors are amazing at their job. But when you over price people will go without. Heartworm is a serious issue, I had a Dog (when in GA) that had Heartworm, VET in GA advised best thing is to ensure She got Heartworm med every month, The procedure to remove them would of probably killed her, but she lived for 8 more years after diag with Heartworm and the med does work, Save you money and get the meds from Canada.

You never realize how much you value and appreciate a veterinary practice until you move out of state and attempt to find another one. Salem Animal Hospital is far superior to any other vet's practice we used in our 24+ years in the Roanoke Valley. It's proving to be an impossible task finding another in our new location which comes close to their outstanding care. The professionalism of the vets and staff, as well as their sincere concern for their clients is exceptional. All of the vets provided thorough information and guidance, but also respected the wishes of the pet parents when recommending treatment options. A special shout out to Dr Weintraub who always showed incomparable knowledge, care, concern, and compassion when our dogs needed it most. Our pups always loved the special attention and cuddles they received from the LVT's, assistants, and staff (Liz and Karrie), and were always happy to go to the vet. We miss SAH so much...they are in a class far above other practices. SAH is truly the BEST!
Sincerely,
Jasper (rip), Maggie (rip), Arlo, and Cracker

We are new puppy owners and our pup was coughing. We went to online scheduling and the first available was over a week out.we called and explained our situation. They got us in immediately and diagnosed our pup with kennel cough. Dr Chris explained everything about a care plan, expectations and follow ups. We were recommended by a friend and we are absolutely making Salem Animal Hospital our permanent Vet.

Brought in a stray cat who was having trouble birthing her kitten (which was deceased) and looked near death herself. Everyone here was caring and professional. Talked us through the whole process and answered everything we asked. We ended up with a new member of the family, who we love and we’re happy she doesn’t have to give birth anymore. Bless her heart.

If I could rate this 0 stars I would. Ever since their building expansion it is all about the dollar. They take people on their worst days and situations and suprise charge with little to no explanation, or they tell your what the plan is and change it up on you which usually requires more payment. They truly have lost what made this animal hospital good.

There is NOWHERE else that I trust enough with my babies, then Salem Animal Hospital. Even happier now that Dr. Hughes went from friend to DOCTOR. Every person you come in contact with is just amazing!

Dr. Bryant and his staff go above and beyond to look after our family pets. Our dog is 14 years old now and Dr. Rich has taken care of him most of his life, we didn't get him till he was 1. We are so thankful for his staff and all they do to make sure our puppy lives a long and happy life.
